Couple of videos ago i said i am gonna reveal something new soon. Here we are, after countless hours of testing and optimizing this is the day i had the chance to test it for the first time. Some low level cruising first and nowhere near 100% throttle yet i think it works great. I will continue to test and see how far we can push this thing.

Congratulations on the big reveal, Panda! The way you kick off the video is hilarious(Sorry, I couldn't resist...)-it's like the classic 'be careful what you wish for' scenario. Countless hours of testing surely paid off. The low-level cruising looked fantastic. Can't wait to see how far this journey goes!

cheers brother! you are truly welcome here. i am also curious what happens next. i will continue to test. so far everything works way more perfect than i expected it to be. i asked them to go 100% throttle at least some seconds to try but both refused. we will adjust the seat harness bit better because it was too reclined for them and see what peak power will do.

Guten Tag Panda. Exellent light weith paramotor. It would be great to create version for Charge&Fly with folding propeller that changes angle 90 degrees and has two positions, folded for carrying and normal for flying. The built-in "Type 2" port will allow charging from any EV charging station.

i always said sp140 is a great unit. i am trying to go a different route and improve things which i think could be a bit different. weather was terrible over last 3 months but i hope to get new test flights done any day now. just need a little window of suitable weather. yeah i was also annoyed about my 2 stroke nonsense. super heavy, smelly and barely enough power to get my fat a$$ up. flying electric is the best thing ever happend in the last 10 years of doing this. so i hear you! its coming this summer. aiming for a ultra lightweight unit for the casual afternoon cruise, another high power unit for pro pilots or tandems and one secret unit i am currently working on. thanks for checking by. ☝🏻🫡 are there any special things you would like to see? i always love talking to other pilots and hear their opinion.

@@cloudpandarism2627 I usually like to fly around 40-50 minutes for a nice leisurely flight so I don’t personally need 2 hours of flight. I also was tired of the fuel smell and constant concern of an engine out (I’ve had four!). I have been driving an electric car for about 5 years now and I think most people don’t realize what a quantum leap electric motors are! A lightweight e-PPG would be great and would be easy to transport in my car without fear of fuel spills and odor! Will really look forward to your finished product! Best wishes.

@@loums52 cheers mate, tell me about it! i had so much emergenncy landing training because my crappy moster185 before! another thing i really like, preflight check is usually just plug battery in and look at it for 5 seconds. all done. 😅 interesting, i hear lots of people complaining that flight time is short but in fact 99% of all pilots i know fly 30-50 min max. the medium battery will do that at 45min flight time and total take off weight should be around 24-25kg. i remember my moster185 was 34kg include half tank of gasoline. i have another new prototype which will easy be able to bring flight time up over 2 hours. we already flown successfully over 1 hour with 1 battery pack and that can be extended with the modular battery slot design i made. every pack i ever build will fit. small, medium or large. it doesnt matter so the pilot can choose himself what he want. take a medium sized pack for 45 min. add the small lightweight pack for additional 35 min. or take 2x medium pack for 90min. or take 2x big packs for 140min...you get the point. if you already driving electric you might even be able to charge it with the main car battery if there is an 230V outlet. my car have one inside too so i can charge while driving to the launch and when i arrive the battery is fresh and full from the charger. perfect condition for the cells since i hate charging the battery up in the evening and let it sit overnight until next day where it looses 5%. i am excited to see where this journey takes me but for now it looks like wonderland with sunshine.🌈⭐🌞 i never want fly gasoline again. 🤣 instead of that i will have my lightweight unint in the car at all times, ready to charge and just go for a nice afternoon cruise.

@@cloudpandarism2627 I would be happy with 45 minutes of flight time with affordable batteries so that I could have at least 2 batteries (charging one while flying one) I like your idea of faceplant protection! Also, the stopping the prop vertically to reduce drag is a great idea. The big benefit I see in going electric (besides reliability), is the ability to glide silently (Ridge soar?) and power up when needed! I am 80 kg, so I am probably a candidate for your larger motor… Very excited to see your finished product… 🍻
@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 Месяц назад
@@RikToffen i see you know what you are talking about. the main idea is to have a set when i start sell it. i want 2 batteries included. 2x 30min packs.so the pilot can either choose to fly ultra lightweight for half hour or add another battery for longer flight time but having the benefit of more power and more flight time and with that also more weight. OR you can fly one pack while charging the other pack same time. since charging time is around 20-30 min only you can land. swap packs and go back up. like that people can fly the entire day instead of just flying one time and then wait for 4-6 hours for that single pack to be recharged. i am not sure yet how much of this will make it to production but i try to do it as planned. FPP mode is good for beginner or the occasionally mishap where you accidentally bump throttle while motor is sitting on ground. after you get better this feature can be turned off if pilot choose. prop stopping for better glide ratio is something i am proud off. that bothered me alot before and i am glad this is working so good already. yes i got a pilot here before who took the small 19kg unit up with the smallest battery, flew 5 min over to the mountain and stayed up for 2 hours, using the motor only couple of times to get back into a good thermal cycle. he landed with 80% battery left after that time. not on video. the medium sized motor will do but if you like to have a bit more punch the bigger motor is perfect. oh and yes battery price will also be lower. plus maybe even an option for a low cost pack around 500$ only. it will be a bit heavier and less capacity. but the advantage is you can get 3-4 packs for the same price as 1 big expensive battery. like that the lower cycle life also doenst matter much because you can swap packs and have 4 times the cycle life in theory. i post updates here as soon i can. meanwhile i am continue to work on the prototypes here. ps: do you have an electric car with power outlet? i read you say charge a pack while flying second. or is your field ready for 230V outlet?

I love it! I think the next decade is going to be amazing for electric paramotors. with the constant push for battery advancements for drones and electric cars, it’s only going to get better and better for us. The battery is still the most costly and heaviest part of this whole thing, right?
@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 6 месяцев назад
overall you are right. heavy kind off. my electric motor with almost double the thrust i had from my gasoline 172cc before is still less weight with the 1 hour battery. more flight time than i ever want. with the half hour battery which is more my style its almost 5kg less weight... i just finished a new ultra lightweight battery pack for shorter flights around 20-25 minutes on the second tiny paramotor. i will test it next week. electric needs to be seen different from gasoline. we need to adjust our minds a bit. this unit can be seen as ATOM80 style paramotor. but there are actually big differences. weight is about the same but the normal output thrust is different. an atom80 have around 40-45kg thrust max. depending on the prop and you supposed to use that 1-2 min before reducing it. thats what vitto recomments. this electric unit can put out 65-70kg thrust but only for short bursts. its not meant to climb for 2 min but for launching with less efforts or in emergency to clear powerlines, trees or whatever obstacle. i installed a temperature sensor inside the motor and ESC supposed to reduce current if motor gets too hot. but either this system doesnt work or the motor didnt get hot enough even i saw 160C on the coils already on the static thrust test i made. right now i am testing several different battery types. the normal very powerful lipos are really cheap. that comes with bit higher weight compare to SSL packs and slightly bigger sizes. but to come back to your question: if the pilot dont mind to carry 2-4kg more than i can make the battery pack 1/4 of the cost from other EPPG out there. or if pilot wants the absolute best and lightest battery possible the price will be about half from other EPPGs. weight is actually not bad and while lithium batterys getting better i am pretty happy what i see now. i say the motor and ESC are the most costly parts while lipo packs are the haviest depending on how long you fly. for me 20 minute flight times are enough and i wanna come back to land for a rest. 90% pilots i talk to are saying the same and be happy around the half hour mark. i am also developing a way to charge on the field for everybody. not only if you have an electric car with 220V outlet like me. i say electric PPG isnt to replace the normal gasoline paramotor yet. but to have it as second unit you can throw in the car at all times for the relaxed after work cruise.

Will be keeping an eye on this for commercial unit. How do batteries and ESC perform in heat? Where I live it is always between 30-40 degrees Celsius
@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 2 месяца назад
in china we also have 30-40C all the summer. performance is very well. never had an overheating situation but we will continue test and push it to the limit soon. because now i installed temperature sensor inside all motors. if the pilot ignore the warning on new display the ESC will reduce power to protect motor. still enough to climb. after cool down the peak performance can be set again with a button.

@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 6 месяцев назад
thanks mate, i hear that alot and i say dont. making it cheap works. until it doesnt work anymore and you go down. doing aviation stuff cheap as possible often ends in disaster and thats one reason electric have a bad reputation for some people. they think batteries are always on fire, flight times are too short and charging time is 1 day. well yes thats all true if you make it cheap. of course it will be bad. you said relative cheap so i am not sure what you got in mind but i am testing where the line is right now between good quality but not crazy expensive. while it is cheaper than i first thought its still not the 2000$ complete paramotor which can do everything. you asked where i would get parts from. well i tested all the alibaba "eppg solutions" god are they terrible... all the cheap 35kw motors and amazing ESC are full of flaws and problems. they burn at half of their rated power and while they seem to work at first, bearings and other crucial parts will fail sooner or later. mostly sooner. been there done that. and i say please dont try the same. maybe it works for a while. but in the end you gonna end up in hospital after something snapped 🙌😵🙃

@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 3 месяца назад
the newest prototype i build with lightweight harness, titanium frame and smaller motor with atom 80 style thrust is 18kg with a 35min battery. or around 15kg with 20min battery. slightly above 20kg for 40min. that is a very pure motor for pilots who wants absolute lightest weight possible for launching into thermals and then cruise around there a while. maybe even get the magic 1 hour flight on a super lightweight machine many people say is not possible with electric. peak thrust is much more than atom80 but you cant go wide open throttle for lets say 10 minutes. this unit is made for students and pilots who love to have a motor in the trunk at all time for the relaxed flight after work for example without carrying around 30kg. to make smaller lightweight motors work i finished all electronics already to prevent them from burning out. like temperature sensor and automatic reducing power to protect the brushless motor. if the pilot ignores all warnings and still go wide open throttle longer times it will protect itself. i also finished a new mode i call face plant protection. many more features are done and i try make a full video as soon as possible. neo would you be interested in something like that? i always like talk to other pilots what they want and love to see on eppgs. so i can adapt and improve.

@@cloudpandarism2627 It is a very cool option. I also freefly and I have always wanted a 8kg eppg without frame and folding prop wiyh a 10 minute flight battery just enough to fly to a good landing spot if you loose hight and cant recover altitude. Yor project is very close to t my idea. There are similar projects like this but they all pretend to footlaunch from the floor and therefore they need power, but if you launch from a mountain takeoff you dont need so much power. With this idea you could freefly with minimal weight and drag and just power up the eppg if you need to recover altitude.... This eppg could be very cheap because of minimal battery and gear. I think that a 60 or 80cm prop would be enough.

WHY would you NOT put a net on that cage during the tests? It ALMOST negates the point of the cage entirely! When you tested it without the wing, I thought "Well, OK, that's not safe, but there is no wing to pull your arms back into the prop at least...." Then multiple people flew it without a net... yikes.

i didnt fly it and the investor insisted to test it without netting. i agree with you and told them about my concerns. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s not the lightest Paramotor, which is a problem for smaller weights. So gas fuelled is still superior at 13kg 90cm prop. The MiniMot Italian manufacture.

thats why the title says lightest ELECTRIC paramotor. 😜 and the minimot is a terrible motor. you cant get this thing louder if you bloody try. we have a couple of those here and they are the main reason we are getting kicked off a spot regular because people are so annoyed by the noise. i wouldnt call that superior

Shame about that. Can’t wait to see E development go further. For small light weight pilots MiniMot is the only real solution ATM. Batteries will get better.
