I think the flat part of the roof should either be a green house or an outdoor ballroom.

This is why you have to trust the process. The base looks amazing and all of the little details makes it. I especially like the stained glass windows and the depth you added with the dark oak and spruce. Village upgrades and a biome coming this year. The base looks stunning in shaders.

Something about the editing in this video felt super clean. I can’t exactly describe what, but it made the video more enjoyable than it already was.

Well it took 9 seasons but someone finally finished the back of their Hermitcraft base! Looks amazing Gem. Can't wait to see what 2023 brings for everyone!

An observatory would look cool poking out of one of the of the dome towers. For the gaps between your towers, a couple ponds would also add some color and life to the base as well. Love the work Gem!

Even if you couldn't notice it because you were watching its slow progression, for us watching you've completely transformed it! The base looks so polished now, I especially love all the new details to the castle rooves :D

While I do enjoy the timelapses and massively gigantic builds of other hermits done in one episode, I really like the slower progress you are making, where every episode is working on a tiny bit of the overall mega-base. It really feels earned when it takes 20+ episodes, and we get to follow along every step of the way. I hope you feel that way too!

Something I love to add to my tall builds is a lattice area with leaves in between! I use trapdoors in a diagonal pattern, with the leaves filling it in so it kind of climbs up my towers.

Gem you are like a combo of Impulse and Pearl for me. You make solid builds like impulse but you also have an artist flare like Pearl. Very cool build!

10:15. The circle room would be an epic showroom for armor and stuff. But the ballroom should be a library! Like the super tall kind where ladders are needed? An ancient library with tons of old books that are dying to be read. Super mysterious and stuff. Would be cool, but idk how to fit it into the lore

First videos of the new year and both you and Pearl completely blew out your mega bases! Good job ladies! What motivating and inspirational ways to start 2023!

I know how much time it takes to do what you did this episode. What I was more impressed with was the more innovative way of editing it. Saw some rough spots but trying something new and fleshing it out takes time. Loved the new style and hope to see it more. Keep going strong Gem!

Also, I almost prefer the back of the base to the front, its that good! Must be a hermitcraft record to not only finish the back of the base, but also make it THIS aesthetically pleasing! xD I hope as you play on, you'll find an opportunity to incorporate more organic builds and stuff in your area! I saw the organics you did in the past and would really like to see you start to lean back a bit more into that build style, maybe not entirely if it doesn't fit but just more than the medieval style!

I for one very much appreciate all the subtle details. It really shows all the time, effort, care, and personality of the builder. It really makes the difference between a stack of blocks in a shape and something that was given attention and love. I was initially hoping that the organic you hinted at would be a dragon, but after taking a better look at the aesthetic of your build, I think a gryphon would match better with maybe a snow leopard and white-bellied sea eagle or bateleur eagle mixed together. Instead of placing all the lichen, you could bone meal it. That's 3 stacks of lichen for one stack of little effort in your Skeleton farm.

I love some of the new editing decisions in this video. Well done.

As much as I loved the snow, the fact roof is gonna glow is pretty cool. Like imagine you're walking in the forests and you see this tall palace, glowing in the night casting shine onto the village below

I love your base!! In the Biltmore, there is an inside greenhouse with a dome made of glass above it. I think something like that would really match your aesthetic😃

The back of the base looks like its a lived in structure and not just a cold castle. cant wait to see it after the plants start growing on it.

I could totally relate to a bunch of this video - like where odd corners of your build come together and leave a weird gap so you just fudge it. I like how you always used the same tall thin window shape - it gives it a sense of unity.

I didn’t watch empires personally but I did watch your hardcore series where you built up a beautiful village and defended it against a raid. That is my all time favorite series that you’ve made. It sparked my desire to play Minecraft and to learn how to build better. I love watching you make multiple smaller/medium builds. Ps. Do you have a way for ppl to contact you privately? Like an fan email, etc. just curious!

I would maybe frame the stained glass windows with polished sandstone or something otherwise they are just sitting in the wall But it looks amazing :)

Some ideas for our base. The back of your base could use 2 or 3 medium to large trees. The dome that's at the back could be an enchanting room and or map room on the inside. The flat garden tares that you added could have a light sensor within it connected to Mckenzies face on the wall facing the garden. Awesome build by the way. It looks very fancy and a high elf architecture style.

If you decide to remove the large barrier if it doesn't work well, in the prismarine roof, you can do something similar to Lizzie, an aquarium! She did axolotls but I think it would also be cool with a bunch of fish, tropical fish! If you don't have a plan or idea of course!! Love the build!!

just a thought the balcony facing the village could be the perfect place for royalty to give speeches to the villagers

I love it! I think decorating it really made a difference but one thing that i feel like would make the entrance just a little bit better is to make like 1 or 2 structural support beams, maybe curved outwards underneath the landing platform. Right now it seems a little bit floaty But omg, the build with shades on looks incredible!

I like how much of the creative process you can see in gem's videos. Lots of other hermits just spew a timelapse and show the after, but you really see how gem works through stuff
