I was just talking about the LX Mustang with my machinist - old guys telling stories to my oldest son. In the day, Texas used these as Highway Patrol cars and sold them at auction. Of course, everybody pounced when one would come up so wasn't like they went super cheap. Good times.

Hey there Dave, I see you got to meet my cousin Nick. He hooked me up with a damper for my Blown 350 Chevy powered Jaguar. I'm going on 4 years with it and that Fluidampr has been great. Good luck with the build!

Now I can use some 57 Chevy parts. Also as far as the mustang I know where there's a convertible for next to nothing. It was sitting in a salvage yard from last 20 years but the salvage yard was primarily tri-five Chevys plus or minus a decade. The car looks like very little if anything had been taken off of it. Be glad to share information. Intended to video it and put it on a short clip on my little channel but somehow it got overlooked. I'm not a real fan of these cars but I'm a fan of anybody who wants to cut one back on the road regardless of what vintage the car maybe. It's about keeping the car hobby alive and growing.

Hey David. I have a 90 hatch Fox Stang. It will be powered by a SBF Dart 427 10:5 compression,205 heads, Holley high ram intake. Should make around 600 hp. Going to use max motor sports engine cradle with front and rear components and sub frame connectors and a 6 point roll cage. QA1 doubles shocks front and back. Want to make a street strip and auto cross car. Looking forward to see more vids on your build! Keep turning those wrenches and be safe!😎👍🏁

Cutting out everything between the rocker panels and starting fresh would be a good start. That would handle their problem with turning the floor pans into razor blades and the terrifying triangulated four link. But you’d still have to figure out something with the front end. When I was road racing a Fox Mustang I proposed welding a Factory Five chassis underneath it, but it didn’t go very far.

You almost lost me on this build but then my ear perked up when I heard LS so I might stay. LOL

Hey Dave, yeah that pan is for the 4x4 envoy they ran one of the front axles thru the pan. Real pain to do motor mounts on...ask me how I know. I was hoping for an S10 honestly when you said drag and drive, but I see you bought an almost race car and that just makes sense 👍

I’m trying to avoid the Fox for a drag and drive build, but I keep finding pretty good deals on roller Fastbacks. If I come across a smoking deal on a Notch I may have to grab it. Would get a Windsor based engine though. I’m not TOO brand bias but I keep Fords in Fords and Chevys in Chevys. I get the whole LS thing though, that’s why there is an LQ4 stroker in my Chevelle (wifey doesn’t want a cage in “her” car)

A Mustang? Sure they're affordable and plentiful, but everyone has one. With all those tri-fives in your possession one of them would make a killer drag and drive vehicle. Plus you would look cool 😎 in a 57 Chevy going down the track.

It’s important, interesting information David. However, you do need to gather your audio properly. You can’t rely on the camera mic for dialogue at that distance, you have to mic it correctly. Dialog should be recorded as mono and with the level set, never on “auto”. The choice of microphone is vast and needs to be gone into thoroughly, this isn’t the place to do that. However, a cabled short shotgun (rifle) mic on a stand and aimed just between you both would have given you much better audio in this situation. It will really help you to gather much better footage if you get professional advice from a good sound recordist about what’s available to you in your area and budget. That person will talk to you about radio mic systems, about lav’ mics, about the various rifle mics and how to use them. I hope this helps. I do enjoy what you do a lot!

Expert needed: I like the damper discussion. Always wondered how much power dissipates in them. I know you wanna protect your crankshaft at high boost, but if something dampens it transforms power into heat and therefore cost you power. Or does it dissipate in the crankshaft under enormous flex if you have no damper?

In my opinion you should of put a triangulated 4 link under the postal Jeep and dropped the ls in it.
