Covid was a tough and isolating time for alot of people, but some of us introverts actually found it very calming. even though I basically came out of the pandemic without any immediate friends, I loved the peace of it and came out just fine on the other side.

Interesting how covid changed something in some people. Before covid I was very introverted. I had also been very asocial due to mental illness (which I can attest to isn't the same as being introverted. Introverted people still want contact with other people from time to time, but when you're asocial you could be living in a cave deep in the mountains) and I was extremely shy to the point it was a problem, when I was younger, even something such as making a phone call could make me panic. So while covid wasn't hard for me in terms of not being able to be as social for the time being (also I had a job in a store which was hell on Earth, but that is unrelated to the social part), it sort of make me less introverted. Like I got out of my asocial state when I got medicated, but the covid made me realize that I do actually enjoy spending time with people more often than I initally thought. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not a party animal, but I no longer despise people like I used to. And as for the shyness/social anxiety. I spent a good 10 years being afraid of literally everything/nothing at the same time, so I'm not afraid of anything anymore, apart from the normal fear of losing loved ones, except I don't let that fear control me, like all my past fears used to do. tldr: covid made me more social ps: I still don't have any friends where I live, but that's just the nature of the country I live in. Even people who are born here and have lived here all their lives have a hard time getting new friends.

Thanks for sharing your story. It seems like the pandemic years were a catalyst for change for many people. It is very interesting to hear how you've changed during that scarry and stressful time, actually comkng out stronger.

I think one of your qualities is your ability to speak on aspects of life that apply beyond yourself. With your ability to include a witty perspective, I feel you're on the way to honing your youtube mission!

Thanks again. When we realise how shared the human experience is suddenly our most personal stories become common and relateable. That's the idea anyway, I certainly haven't mastered it but it's the idea of offering something more than "hey look at me"

I loved the staying home. I was already doing it. Lol I can't say the same for not losing people to covid, though. My BFF's father and grandmother both died from it, a month apart, 2000 miles apart. It was a horrific time, to say the least. They both caught it while at the hospital in the early months, before hospital employees were even being tested, much less wearing PPE. One passed mid March, the other one in April (2020). 3 of my neighbors died from it in 2021. All 3 of them within 6 months, and all 3 lived on the same 1/2 mile long stretch of road. Also, my lawn mower repair man died from it in 2020. And, I adopted an older cat last year, from the husband of a lady who died from covid in 2021. I could probably write a long list of names of people I know who died from it. But thankfully, none of my family or close friends have. I'll be honest and say I am completely scared of it. I'm vaxxed, double boosted, and wear a mask every where I go. Still. Obviously, several of the people I know who died from it, were older and/or had some health issues. But, a couple of them were quite healthy, aged 40-50, and had no underlying health conditions. That was enough for me to opt for playing it safe, rather than sorry. Hope you're having a nice weekend! It's a bit chilly down here in the deep south. One of those chicken and dumpling kind of weekends.🤩

I know it was a terrible time for so many, that's why I wanted to be careful saying I enjoyed any part of it. I also decided early on that even though it wasn't supposed to be that bad for people my age (50) that this thing just seemed nasty and I was going to do everything I could to avoid it. So far so good I never got it... I'm at the airport actually heading to Oregon for a week to get some biscuits and gravy cause it's been too long and I have a hankering. Also, I'll visit family. I wore a mask in the crazy crowded tsa line and I was the ONLY one. It's funny how completely that has gone away. I'm not ill right now but I'm sure several people in that line of 500 or more people had respirtory symptoms and should have been wearing masks to protect the rest of us. Nothing like catching the flu to ruin a big expensive trip! Anyway, have a great day. Stay safe

I can totally relate. While I like people, I really love quiet time to myself at home or out in nature. I was grateful to be able to stay home for a few months, even though I ended up losing my 20-year old business when we were forced to close the doors. Life sometimes had a weird way of bringing unexpected blessings into our lives. My life was completely demolished during that time and after major redirection, I’m living a far more peaceful and joyful life. Who would have thought that any good could have come from such a terrible time?

Yeah I had zero friends before lockdown so it worked for me 😅 I still have zero friends. It’s the only way I can survive my day-to-day existence.
