I don't think Pat exposed himself. I think that's just a secret finish because if he made that as a cheat for himself then why would he add the music and the dancing things and the "Hooray" shit? To entertain himself? I think it was meant to be found as a hidden path. Plus that tunnel was the only way to beat the level so it couldn't have been a secret finish.
ChromeADomeStone no it is a chest. If you look at were browser is there are multiple green pipes. And the music plays for everyone that gets there since there can only be one ending to a level. He made a path for himself so he didn't have to do his own level
solparadox I see what you're saying. But the music doesn't play at the end for everyone its put there by the level designers. But I could also see how it's a cheat, maybe if Dashie had continued forward he would have had to fight that bowser in that small tunnel room to get to the other side(the side the hidden vine block had him on). So yeah never mind, you're most likely right.
