I, too, have been suffering with a barrage of physical ailments and mental disorders since my early years. I am now approaching my 70's and naturally am only going downhill. There are times I am so ill I feel like I just want to die. But I know its not my place to decide that. I just came out of the cult some years ago and found the true God. I have prayed for the healing of others, according to God's will, but find it hard to do so for myself. I have asked myself why am I going through this; what lesson is He trying to teach me. I just saw it as a way of strengthening me. I finally realized that I have not, laid my concerns and worries upon the Lord as I should. I've become so used to just grinning and bearing it. He wants us to rely and trust in Him in all things. It is a hard lesson for me to learn to let go of my pride and martyrism, but I am learning to do so at last. We're never to old to learn. Haha! I will include you in my prayers as well. May God bless you all.

My husband lost his left leg in 2009 when we had been married six years. In the hospital I personally taught him 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

I was beset by severe drug abuse for years and l couldn't pass a day without taking at least 20 sleeping pills. In 2022, l began to seek professional help in a Christian organization and, to the huge surprise of my doctor and social worker, l made a full recovery within 2 months. Now, l am living a joyful and meaningful life for Christ. My dear brother, my advice is to seek as much professional help as possible while trusting the Almighty God at the same time. Also, please take one day at a time. Try your best to get through today alone without worrying too much about tomorrow. Break down the whole process and it would become much easier. I pray for your full recovery and a return to a joyful and abundant life.

I have been so desperate before that I had almost believed that God had abandoned me. However, He is always faithful and has always pulled me through. Even at the last second.

Lyme disease is a terrible illness and I feel for you. In March of 2022 after 56 years of being super healthy with zero illnesses, I got Covid which gave me heart failure. I still struggle a lot with it. I don’t walk well, I am a fall hazard and I have very little strength and stamina. I also still am short of breath often (that’s how I knew I had a problem). My blood pressure is hard to control and when I was diagnosed it was hypertensive crisis level (262/146). It’s terrible so I do feel for you and your suffering. I will pray for God to touch you. Many years ago I heard a pastor preaching about all the people who go around saying “God won’t give me more than I can handle”. The pastor clarified that this is for temptations not trials. As you pointed out Paul said: We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters,[a] about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. 2 Corinthians 1:8,9. Obviously Paul felt like he was going through trials heavier than he thought he could handle so it’s not true that “God won’t give you more than you can handle” and just that statement alone has grieved many people who have gone through serious trials.

You are a blessed brother in the Lord and absolutely praying for your healing, strength, guidance, and direction according to Gods will 🙏🕊💕

Hi Matt, sharing your struggle with others gives so many people comfort - sounds weird I know. But we are all suffering in some way as God has not promised us a life without burdens and your testimony helps others to feel encouraged in their own struggles. Even though you are being attacked by the evil one and your circumstances seem awful, you are still so in love with Jesus and dedicated to your faith in Him. And I believe that satan will only try to make us miserable if he knows we are a threat. Yet, here you are, much like Job, saying that no matter your circumstances, you will never let go of Jesus. I also believe that its through difficulty that we draw closer to God. He wants you close to Him Matt as you have important work to do. Praying for you to have strength and peace.

I could write a whole book here, brother. But I'll just say this: please know countless folks are praying for you, and we serve a mighty and merciful God.

Thank you, a stroke given to me, really threw me for a huge loop. The hardest thing I have ever gone through. I understand somewhat. My wife died, I am alone for the first time in a long time, I don't want to be homeless like this. He is God.

I am so sorry Matt you are going through so much physically and mentally. 2022 was a difficult year for me with high anxiety. In desperation I cried out to the Lord for help because I didnt know how I was going to go on. He gave me Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. A short while later that year I got up one morning and felt I could face life again. It was a miracle. The Lord healed me. I still have my problems but Im not like I was. Praying for a miracle to happen to you too Matt🙏🙏🙏

My Dear Brother, I feel your pain and I understand how you feel especially mentally. I have been on this journey for nearly 25 years after a PTSD incident. I as well, have suffered with OCD and struggled with anxiety and worry as I have tried to trust God through it all. Certainly not easy. Lord, I lift up Matt to your throne of grace! Thank you for the moments of peace that you have given this brother in Christ. Please have mercy on him. Help him through his condition. Talking about brain damage, I can certainly relate. I was born with cerebral palsy, which affects my motor skills and some cognitive problems. I testify however that God has been so good to me. He’s blessed me with the gift of music. It’s such a beautiful blessing. I’m using that gift for God and the church. I lift you up, Matt! I pray God comforts you as He has been. My heart breaks for you, dear brother. I don't have any words of comfort. I, too, am at that place in different ways. But I just prayed for you and will continue to do so. I think you are grieving the loss of the relationship with your lady friend. That on top of your physical challenges. You may even be angry at God. I know I am. And it is pretty severe. I'm glad I found your channel just now. I've been struggling so much with enduring my chronic illness. There really aren't words for the kind of misery chronic illness brings, especially when it goes on for years and years. I'm praying for you. Praise God that one day all of our pain will end and there will be no more sickness or suffering 🙏

I understand, Matt. I live with chronic lyme. I'm in a horrible flare right now and loosing my eyesight. Nothing I do helps, and I'm getting worse and worse. I'm far from where my kids/grands are and I feel that I'll probably die without ever being able to move back to them and be a proper Grandma. The guilt, shame and loss I carry of this is heart crushing. My family doesn't understand lyme and cannot understand why a person like me, so full of energy previous to this, is suddenly sick 24/7. I don't share it with many, because as you say, unless you have experienced it you cannot understand. I am thankful for a supportive husband, but it hurts me also to see him suffer with such a life of carrying for a chronically ill wife. I just said to God the other day "I feel trapped in my body, like a prison sentence". So many other things have happened and the loss has literally brought me to where I have nothing of the life we once knew. I no longer have a secure home, or gardens I once enjoyed, or access to family and friends or even church. I know what it feels like to be all alone except those the very closest to you, for me, namely my husband. I even lost my little dog of 14 this year. :( The loss just keeps going on and on. One of the most precious things I owed was my engagement ring, somehow I lost it!! I wonder often if God is stripping me down to nothing. :( So, trust me friend, I do get this! I hurt for you Matt, having this friend probably gave you some a sweet space of solace and hope. Please don't give up on this relationship, Matt. I just sense that God will make way. And even if you can't be together physically, right now, God could be building things in your relationship that He couldn't do if you were together. I met my husband online 15 years ago. God can make a way! I will pray for you.

I struggle also. Heart attack, Heart disease, prostate removed, recent hemorrhoidectomy, brutal. And going soon to have more tests, might have Lyme or other autoimmune problems. Under full on attack, living out my bond with no income, no music work incoming, even with the most amazing ears and equipment. I also have had a life of much suffering, and I know how easy it is to get discouraged and lose hope. One thing that has helped me is to read the writings, and life experiences of true Christians who have walked before us. As I heard your story, I was reminded of Amy Carmichael. She was a missionary from her young age until she died at an old age. However, the greater part of her life, she was bedridden, and in much pain. Her situation would not have made sense to anyone from a rational viewpoint. However, in hindsight we see that those were her most fruitful years. She wrote so many books (over 50, I believe), she knew Christ through her suffering, and she showed Christ to others. Her many writing teach us much about the Christian life, and a close walk with God. Let me add a poem of hers which I keep on my phone for ready referral: And shall I pray Thee change Thy will, my Father Until it be according unto mine? Ah! No, Lord, No, that never shall be! Rather I pray Thee blend my human will with Thine. I pray Thee hush the hurried, eager longings; I pray Thee sooth the pangs of keen desire. See, in my quiet places, wishes thronging, Forbid them, Lord, purge, though it be with fire. And work in me to will, and do Thy pleasure 'Til all within me, peaceful, reconciled, Tarry content, my Well-Beloved's leisure; At last, at last, even as a weaned child. ~ Amy Carmichael

I love you brother and my heart breaks for you because of the heavy burden you carry right now. I am praying for you and also sending you a fat South African hug...a hug that says everything will be OK. Not because I say so, because our God says so, the one who fashioned us before the world, the One who raises the dead, who is sitting on His thrown and yet feels every break of your heart. He will do it, He will be your rock.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your relationship etc on top of your other trials etc . I am so blessed by your honesty and faith . I have had a bombardment of battles in two areas of my life . One is a result of very bad choice made years ago and the other is from same spirit but different circumstances. God is working in both onslaughts and showing me heaps . Many times I wish I was different and my circumstances different but at same time I wouldn’t change how much our Father has blessed me in midst of these things . He truly keeps us through these times . He has kept you so far and he will be there for you again. One day in eternity we may finally understand all these things we have faced but for now it is sure an exercise in trust in Him. Thankfully He is such an awesome God and caring Heavenly Father . I read Psalm 10 earlier which was a great encouragement to my circumstances. I found particularly Psalm 10:16-18 a great encouragement and reminder that God hears the desire of the humble and he will bring justice for the oppressed . I pray for you for deep healing and encouragement in the midst of your grief . May His purposes prevail and be revealed in you. Thank you for being such a blessing to so many of us.

Praying for you, brother! I too have battled lymes disease and the lingering effects from it as well as depression and anxiety and other chronic illnesses. God speaks to me so much through you. I'm so sorry for all that you're going through, physically and emotionally. Sometimes it seems we have sorrow on top of sorrow in this world. I was astounded by your impassioned three problems you have been struggling. I too have experienced hardships with illness and had to adjust my life in accordance with some limitations. Being raised in a musical family and have studied music, I have found that listening to inspirational music such as (Handel’s Messiah and Mendelssohn’s Elijah) have kept me going when I wanted to give up but kept me pushing forward. Best wishes as you continue with your struggles. Take good care of yourself!

Hi Matt, your messages have been such a blessing and a ray of hope for those who have been watching. I say this with conviction that God will use every moment of your trials and hardships for something truly amazing and we are already seeing the outworking of that in progress. Suffering is not pleasant when we are going through it, but it somehow it does the unexplainable and draws us even closer in relationship to God each time. Just remember that we your brothers and sisters are going through similar difficulties, asking the same questions, and praying for answers as you are. The thing I remind myself of is that these valleys and mountain tops are only temporary and as it says in Isaiah 40:4-5 “Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Now there’s something about that promise that speaks volumes to me, when I meditate on this I just get so excited to see what’s coming.

Matt, your channel is a godsend to me and many others. I've been battling mental illness for several years now: chronic depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and in my early twenties I received an ASD diagnosis. I often feel lonely in my life journey. My family could not understand what limits me even if I told them. I feel trapped in a broken body that won't allow me to do what I really aspire to do and I look forward to having a glorified body that will not be capable of suffering fear and shame anymore. Your messages remind me that there is hope and meaning in all that we are enduring. May we all be healed of our ailments if it is God's will.

Matt - I have suffered very similar mental torments. I have a history of OCD, lymes, and cancer. When I was saved in 2019 the OCD morphed into Religious Scrupulosity. The effects of everything resulted in an imbalance in my brain that triggered severe anxiety attacks and sleep problems. I was falling into despair. I ended up speaking to a functional medicine doctor who has prescribed several supplements that have given me a chance to catch my breathe and help to get my mental health going in the right direction. If you are interested at all in that type of approach I am happy to share what I've been taking.

I pray that God gives you peace like a river and strength for a new day as you journey through life's rough waters. Trust that He has you and knows you better than you know yourself. May all His blessings flow through you and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your places of hurt and sadness. God knows all things, so keep trusting Him and do like Peter did and allow yourself to walk on water knowing God is with you and beside you always. God be praised forever more! Healing is yours, and receive it in Jesus Name!

I’m so sorry. I don’t have brain issues but I have long term physical illness and disabilities. It is hard to understand the whys. For some reason God allows these things. We feel alone and left behind. I will pray for you when I pray for myself. ❤️

Just heard this: Acts 14:22 they strengthened the disciples and urged them to remain firm in the faith. They told them, “If we are to enter God’s kingdom, we must pass through many troubles.” Hang tough.

Have you heard of the book Starving to Heal in Siberia? The author healed her Lyme disease right before she was going to turn to assisted suicide. I listened to the audio book; very compelling. I pray that if you get a chance to read it that it helps you recover fully. Makes me mad that you were put in an Rx you should have never been prescribed. You are in my prayers, brother. Matt. Respect for you. Revealing your difficulties takes guts. I understand what you are going through......I also suffer from a chronic illness (RA). Physical pain constantly and severe depression. I feel exactly the same. Imprisoned physically and mentally. And people don't understand. You will get through this. And God puts people in our path to help us carry our burdens. God's will be. I'm suffering from similar problems but you are in my prayers. You are a strong man and a man of God. I want to give you message a pastor once gave me and I try to hold on to that on my bad days. God always gives the hardest burdens to His strongest warriors and does it to build and molds us for a higher purpose. And then He also said to remember to always keep the armor of God on (Ephesians 6: 10-18) as the devil will attack at your weakest point. Your messages always gives me perspective and to know I'm not the only one dealing with this type of torment is encouraging. Be blessed my friend. Oh, my dearest brother, I feel deeply for you. 😢 I too have been in a place of chronic illness that few people know about. It can be so difficult to journey on this earth, in a world where injustice and chaos seems to reign, we can feel crushed and our faith appear to be under fire. In this place God provides grace. Where our every area is distressed, he promises to be deeply moved by our need when we can only hope in Him and acknowledge Him as the sovereign God, who ultimately in His unapproachable light is perfect in mercy and justice, and He will never discount the tears you have shed. Look at Abraham who lost much of the inheritance he could have hoped for on earth, in exchange for a purpose in God’s story he could never have imagined! 1 Corinthians 2:9. I will pray for you!
