I don't believe born again believers need deliverance. But as an ex-newager I do struggle with really weird/confusing expieriences. Which can be very isolating at timrs. But I just keep fixing my eyes upon Jesus and trust that He's with me and everything will work out for His glory🙏
I believe that the end time church will be like the first church. Those followers of Christ met in home churches to study scripture, not a building with one pastor. The "church" itself is an organization created by man. This is not ever mentioned in scripture. The church is the body of believers worldwide. Not a specific building in a specific location.
To be fair, you came up on my video feed thank goodness. I have loaded you to the arsenal of my current favourites. I don't have a church at the moment, you go to one and find it and think it's true to the biblical way, but unfortunately the mask slips
I'm from Christchurch New Zealand and we have the same issue here. There are so many seeker friendly churches that do not teach deep and convicting scripture. I do not know where to go.

I prefer a reasonable sized church, where most people actually know each other. I think once you get over a certain amount of people, it doesn’t work as it’s supposed to. But either way, there should be gospel-centred preaching, and good leadership!
Just saying…. You yourself said something non biblical… replacing Christ in Christmas. There is no Christ is Christmas.. Christmas is a pagan festival.. in every way. Christ was not born Dec 25th. If you look at Christ Birth.. it says in Luke.. while shepherds watch their flocks by night. December in Israel is winter and shepherds would not have been out in the fields. Add to that.. even the word Easter is pagan. Easter is name after the goddess Estre.. the goddess of fertility and spring… hence the eggs and rabbits. We Christians need to be aware of how paganism has crept into our churches.
Imagine that Joe had responded differently, and you did have an informal Bible study in your home, do you think that you would have been satisfied? Or would you have wanted change as you continued to look around and assess Life? Would you have been content to quietly work in a Godly manner to bring about change? Or would you still have left, being ultimately frustrated anyway? I just wonder if things could have been different or whether a clash between you and Joe was inevitable.
It’s a great question. Thanks for asking. I actually met with Joe numerous times over a number of years. People in the church (apart from close friends) would not have known my concerns, as I continued to serve faithfully in the background. In relation to reading the Bible (and praying) at home, with friends, Joe acted outside the scope of the authority of Scripture. That is clear. This was seen as no issue (rightfully) by the assistant pastor. However Joe overheard my conversation with the assistant pastor, undermined him, and told him to tell me that I must not do it. But, in answer to your question, other concerns would have remained… For me, the narcissistic behaviour (including gaslighting), during several conversations, was a real tipping point for me. It was at that point that I realised that merely asking the questions that I did was something which Joe considered to be threatening to him (because he didn’t have biblical answers). It was clear that control is more important to him than open discussion. Sadly, MANY others had similar experiences there. This is a theme at that church. I am grateful that at my current church, I can raise legitimate issues with leadership, and that we can discuss them biblically, without the gaslighting and attack of motives. That’s how it should be. It’s no surprise to me that Life is in the mess it’s in, in regards to major sin issues. Compromised preaching (lacking conviction), and heavy shepherding, creates an environment for sin to flourish.

Yes many of us who bother to intently study the word have had these issues as you've mentioned...however I don't necessarily hold to the view Matt regarding Christmas. I have taught a number of times on this falsely claimed Holy day on the Christian calendar, ie Christmas...when it's anything but..so it doesn't really matter how people in the church decide to celebrate it when it in fact it shouldn't be celebrated at all. Nowhere in any of the Gospels did Jesus make any reference to celebrating His birth or in fact His resurrection. Nowhere did Paul instruct the churches to uphold this day. In Peter's letters to the tribes of Israel, again no instruction given. Infact no reference anywhere where any of the Apostles upheld His birth or resurrection as a Holy day.And there is good reason for this I believe...Jesus requires us to believe in Him and celebrate Him as the adult in our lives, and not the baby in a manger, as the baby makes no demands, gives no instruction or counsel, gives no warnings about rejection and does not perform miracles or give eternal life to the believer. As the Apostle Paul told the Church in 1 Corinth 4:6...you must not go beyond what is written. Bless you brother for your work in the Lord.
My point here was not the issue of what day or date Christmas is celebrated, as I have also studied it's origins, or to stand in judgement of those who do uphold it. The actual point I was making that there was that a criticism made about those in the church who were not respectful of Christmas by their behaviour, which in itself is a judgement which has no basis, because neither Christ nor His Apostles laid any directives as to the adherence or process, because it was never intended to be celebrated. If people choose how and when to uphold it, that is entirely on them. And this is where and why I have witnessed so many issues that infiltrate the church. When it adopts practices which are not biblical, then the rules are made up as it evolves. ie: like it shouldn't be just about family and presents...well these are views of those for that day, and not for us to judge on a day instituted by man. I have been disabled with ME/CFS for 27 years, lived with a narcissistic husband who claimed to be saved but was not for 31 years. So have CPTSD now. I lost almost all my Christian friends because ME/CFS isolates me and does not allow me to attend church. I unexpectedly lost my loving supportive son 2 months ago, he was my best friend. I am totally broken even knowing he is now with Jesus. But in my brokenness I know God will get me through the valley of the shadow of death I am walking through. I may not feel it, but I do know it to be true.
It scares me to think how many people believe they are saved, but in truth they are not. If the Shepherds don’t speak truth to the sheep the sheep may be lost.

I dont go to church anymore. It is safer to walk into a false religion or pagan temple than to enter a church. No where on earth do you need to be more vigilant and on guard than in a church.
Amen! So many are searching for the blessings of God instead of Him. He tells us to (paraphrasing) seek Him first and all will be given to us, delight yourself in Him and He'll give you the desires of your heart, etc. It's all about The Giver, not the gifts.
You can't find a descent church in 😂my area neither... I live in America in Wisconsin. Had to leave 5 churches in a row... It has been an education, especially the people in the church who don't see the problem... I came across seeker sensitive, abused pastors, word of faith, nar, and the pastor thinking women can be pastors...
I like what my own pastor does. First, he has said from the pulpit that he doesn't want anyone checking their brains at the door when they come into our church. He prefers a congregation of thinkers. Furthermore, another thing he's mentioned from he pulpit is that, even though he has no intention of ever lying to us, we should not blindly accept what he says just because he's the pastor. He's actually encouraged us that if ever we find what he has preached questionable, that we go home and study the bible for ourselves; and that if we have questions, he and all the pastoral staff are more than willing to answer any and all questions to the best of their knowledge and abilities. I'm blessed to attend a church of true leaders.
The church is not perfect, Jesus is perfect. The churches are unperfect, which is the lack of the Holy Spirit. We are taught to test the spirits of a person. Be careful with your words or create a church of division.

I recently started going to Churchill Baptist church in Ipswich QLD after someone recommended them. I checked out the website/s and that was a good enough of a start for me to start going.

Quite a few "churches" are putting up a pagan show of celebrating santa claus,now... How hypocritical to lie to children with their parents' approval for a fake one and at the same time preaching about an unseen Saviour who is the TRUTH that they want them to believe in. The clowns are now entertaining the goats.Our Lord was so right whipping those who turned the house of His Father into a den of thieves.

It's so true that there is nothing new under the sun! I left my church 2 1/4 years ago after speaking with the pastor (only elder) several times about my concerns that it was not a biblical church because there was not a plurality of elders and because he was not biblically qualified to lead & teach. Several others preceded me in leaving, but a handful were just as you described in the groups that stayed and gave you negative feedback. Two of the women were dear personal friends, as well. It still makes me sad that they and one other elderly man are on a "sinking ship." To be honest, sometimes I wonder how that church can still carry on, and it almost makes me doubt whether my assessments were accurate. But scripture confirms my decision, and that church is not growing at all, albeit still meeting. For over two years I have driven quite a distance to worship & learn in a truly biblical and Christ-centered body. Praise God that He still has faithful servants in strategic places!
