I was raised as Pentecostal myself, and yes, this sorts of tongues were a common occurrence during service. I was taught not to question/make fun of it because it was "God touching the person". But, I was taught that when it happened, it was involuntary. Not something you did yourself. And guess what? I never experienced it. I never received that "baptism in the Holy Ghost". Now, I attend a Church that teaches that when we accept Christ we are baptized with the Holy Ghost, sealed for Him, and that God is a God of order and self-control. This has made so much more sense to me.

Sounds like a similar experience I had. Actually went to Charismatic Bible College and from there to a few Pentecostal churches. Although I sought for the spiritual gift of tongues, the "tongues" I learned, "just copy me and you will receive the gift", were not biblical tongues. I got really good at it and added "words" to my "sentences" deceived into thinking it was the Holy Spirit that was behind it. People would speak these "tongues" without interpretation, as a personal prayer language, even singing in "tongues", totally unedifying to the hearer.

@@Cmedic57Yes. I escaped from one of those churches a few years back. The Bible states that if you can't translate what you're saying, or have someone else there who can, you're not edifying the body of Christ, and you should do that alone, in private, if you want. But I never did that in church, and I felt there was nothing from the Holy Spirit in that behavior.
@Cmedic57
@Cmedic57 3 месяца назад
@@cblackink I will tell you of one of the two real tongues I encountered. One time at a bible study, as we were praying, one of my friends suddenly threw back his arms (we were all sitting around a table) and began speaking in an unknown tongue. After he spoke a few sentences in this language he slumped over and fell into a deep sleep for about 20 minutes. No one woke him, and most of the group left, though I stayed behind. When he woke he said he was filled with love and hugged everyone, then told us about his vision. I mentioned he had spoken in an unknown tongue, but he didn't remember doing that, and said he only spoke English. In his vision he did speak with Jesus and Jesus showed him some things which he asked Jesus about. Perhaps I was there for a reason because what Jesus shared with my friend really encourage me in the faith.😊

Even as a baby Christian and also coming to faith in a Charasmatic church, I didn't believe they were real. It was like the people were making it up and not speaking in a real language. My natural scepticism caused me to not do it. I also think some people have an elevated sense of their spiritual superiority that do it. We only need to look at God's word to see what they were and why and how used.

I have spoken in a prayer language since I was a teenager. I have been through a lot of emotional trauma and recently I decided to try praying in tongues when I was struggling with my emotions. A little while later I was struggling with hopelessness and sadness related to the trauma I have been through. I asked my husband to pray for me, and I prayed for myself, but it did not help. Then I started praying in tongues and almost immediately the negative emotions stopped and I had peace. The Holy Spirit brought words of hope and promises of God to my mind and I was fine. By the way, your “tongues” does not sound like real tongues from the Holy Spirit. It made me feel very uncomfortable in my spirit, and I wanted to switch it off as soon as it started. When others speak in tongues from the Holy Spirit it has quite a different effect. I understand that you are a sincere person and that you want to help people, however I must agree with those who have commented here warning you to be careful.

I only received 2 syllables when I was prayed for baptism of Holy Spirit. I used them constantly. Even prayed for others for tongues and they received the fullness! One morning I asked God for the fullness and they began to flow. I have been speaking in tongues for 40 years. I love them and enjoy the closeness they give me with Holy Spirit. Often while speaking in tongues I receive prophecies and visions. It is a gift from my heavenly Father. He won't give me a stone if I ask for a fish......He loves me.

I attended a charismatic church for not quite two years. I could never get into it there. I tried. I honestly feel like there is a lot of manipulation within some charismatic churches. They will drum up an emotional frenzy and that is when people will start to think they are truly speaking in tongues. It happened to me once. I honestly thought I spoke in tongues once during worship. But it wasn't long after that I really doubted myself. It did not feel right at all. I would leave church feeling defeated because I didn't have an experience of some kind. Eventually my husband and I went back to our Baptist church ( issues there too) but I will still watch the charismatic church from time to time. I watched last weekend and the whole sermon was about speaking in tongues and the biblical case for it. I got so emotional watching. I was even a bit angry-not sure why. But now I think it was manipulation because I began to seek the ability to speak in tongues or to at least get a "word". Later that night as I was praying I had a word come to me in an unknown language. I looked up what I thought the word was, it was biblical, but I still do not feel it was something from God. I think I just got lucky on my jibberish. None of it feels right. I have never felt comfortable with the charismatic church. I don't know why I pushed myself to want to be a part of it. I guess I was drawn to the idea of an experience, a move of God...More...seeking more.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, son. I've heard the type of tongues you refer to and it did not sit right with my spirit. I do speak in tongues, and in fact several years after receiving attended a conference and heard another attendee speaking in the same tongue. I've never been prompted to speak aloud in a church service, only when alone. What the Father showed me for me - as someone who was raised in a dysfunctional household with hurting parents, who learned and battled deep-seeded insecurity all my life - doubting even the love of God for me - tongues ARE still given as a sign for the unbeliever. The mistake many of us make, is that the unbeliever is someone else, a congregation, etc. In my case, the unbeliever who needed the sign gift of tongues, was me. The gift has been instrumental in cementing my faith and healing a deeply wounded heart. I did speak it in public once; when being assailed by a couple of thugs and the Spirit told me "speak in tongues". I did, and they stopped chasing me as if running into an invisible wall. If it were phoney baloney and lacking in the power of God, I may well have been murdered. Suffice to say, ask for discernment between the genuine and false. Blessings!

Spot on. You are absolutely right that the early church would have been appalled at the modern day's activity and contributing it to the Holy Spirit. I have been in several churches, where in most cases, the "speaking in tongues" was very contrived and worked up. Nothing in my spirit felt any connection whatsoever to a heighten sense of the Spirit in those moments. On the contrary some of the activity was very bizarre.... extreme jerking, yapping like a dog, chaos to a certain degree. This I'm certain would not draw a sinner to God. But there have been times where I was in a service or a prayer time and God's presence was so strong it felt as if we could cut it with a knife. That's the kind of Presence an unbeliever cannot get away from. Truly the divine presence of God cannot be counterfeited! I just wish some Christians truly understood the divine from the fake. Let me share a real example of the Spirit in action. Back in the Spring a convention of churches I associate with held an convention. People from all over the US and some from other countries come together. One particular girl who is in a Bible college invited her parents to come. They do not speak English. So sit in the audience while their daughter sang in a college choir. Afterwards the main speaker spoke. At the end of the service, their daughter ask her parents if they understood anything. They said yes. She asked again thinking they misunderstood her question. They said yes. She said how could you understand, you don't know English. They said the interpreter told us everything. But here's the supernatural thing there was NO interpreter. They insisted the interpreter stood right beside the speaker the entire time and interpreted what he said. That dear believers are the ways God uses to get his message across to those who need to hear the Gospel!

A timely video brother, I have been praying about this and asking the Lord to help me understand. I am coming out of decades of false teachings, I got saved in a church of the mystery religion in the modern church of today and speaking in tongues was a "gift" I got when another prayed that I would receive it. I know I could not have spoken the words that tumbled out of my mouth at that moment, it was not me, it was a "gift", I simply was able to speak another language seamlessly where I could not have done that prior. I never questioned it for decades and held it close as a "prayer language" during the day as I went about chores etc. feeling I was "edifying" my spirit in Christ. Last year the Lord has showed me the deception of this mystery religion and the cult it was, I am so grateful to Him for this, thank you Abba, but it's gutted me and it's deeply painful to know 40 years of my life was founded on doctrines of demons (NAR, WOF). So what do I speak when I speak in the "gift" - I don't know - no idea. Could it be demonic and I am cursing unknowingly? Ouch, that's horrific, but I don't know, so why continue it? Now it's the process of unlearning, like a pile of tangled things and looking at it realizing I can only ask the Lord to show me where are the lies of wood, hay and stubble and what is ONLY the treasure. Forsaking what is behind me and laying hold of what is ahead, striving towards the finish line, limping a bit, but God will deliver His elect and clearly He never let me go, I will never praise His name enough for what Jesus has done for me. God bless and thank you for your abundant honesty and encouragement in your videos. Greatly appreciated. Maranatha!

Sounds similar to what I went through, though I knew early on the "tongues" I learned to speak was false. They told me to just copy them and then over time I would "pick up" my own personal gift of tongues. When I prayed in tongues, it never edified me or my wife, but when I prayed in my own tongue it edified me and others. So I stopped speaking in those fake tongues. I have heard of real tongues, biblical tongues, where say a person is speaking in a foreign language to an evangelist and they can understand and speak that language by God's power. Have learned that Spiritual gifts are for the edification of the church, not of ourselves. Therefore there is no need for me to have the gift of tongues since I never go anywhere where English is not spoken.

In the NAR people are taught to just open your mouth and speak forth "words" in a tongue you don't know, and if you don't speak these "tongues" then you are not "baptized in the Holy Spirit". So I was taught to speak many different "words" by imitating others, and got so good at it I could make up new "words" on the fly ...."Shandala mapolla jeshniah sandolopo keshnadia". But these "tongues" did not edify me or anyone else and were a deception and those who speak them are deceived and deceiving others. Flee from the NAR.

How my friend spoke in tongues when he had a vision and didn't realize he had done so. But most are fake "kundalini awakening" tongues. There is no such thing as personal tongues, as they serve no purpose, other than self edification. First I have to say I love your little backyard with the birds chirping very nice. At age of 18. I'm 57 now, I started my Christian journey in pentecostal church and so much pressure to speak in tongue's because we were told tongues is the sign of the baptism of the holy spirit. It felt almost work based as people were trying so hard to speak in tongues as new believer because they thought they were not saved. One time during church service I felt it flowing up from my belly, tongues which I couldn't understand. And somebody did the interpretation. I will never forget that experience I have never has this happen again over the 40 years. And I am not comfortable either with all this babble I hear in churches so I don't pray in tongues anymore I will not force it it God pours this gift on me it should come naturally. I have git a friend, she had no religious upbringing. Never read the bible and lives a hermit life in the country with her pets. Well a while ago she actually had an an experience alone on her property holy spirit touched her sge started speaking in tongues a heavenly language not made up. And from that moment Jesus touched her in a massive way. I don't understand but her experience was 100 percent she is a close friend.

I've written a paper when I was doing my theological studies. While it's true that the tongues in the Bible were actual languages, the "charismatic tongues" & some manifestations of the spirit are real. If you look into church history & how it all got started, you can't really explain them away. John Wesley, a logical & methodical man led meetings that involved such spiritual manifestations & he never condemned it. I do however disagree with how the Pentecostals ran away with proof texting. But that doesn't mean the gift of such tongues are fake. We need to leave room for the Spirit & remember that it's only one of the many gifts of the Spirit, it's not a sign of salvation or more maturity/special/anointed. It's the only personal gift that does nothing for the church unless there is an interpreter (even that needs to be careful). No gift is given to all & not all Christians are given every gift. 1 cor teaches this clearly. So don't throw the baby out with the water.

You asked in that video if anyone had an experience where you were pushed into a practice within the church. I was going to leave a comment, but felt insecure about it. And then the very next day this video is what I was going to comment about. Providence. My experience with tongues was I went to a revival meeting with my grandmother. Afterwards it was a time to speak in tongues. A non speaking tonguges person was paired up with one who spoke in tongues. Long story short they said everyone should speak in tongues and they would teach you. There was a lot of babbling (vain repetitions) going on. I wasn't speaking, nothing came. They told me to raise my hands over my head, but after thirty minutes or so I couldn't hold them up any longer. I was exhausted and made to feel like there was something wrong with me. I never went back. Pray for me that I can find someone to study scripture with. I love hearing other people read scripture. Thank you for your honesty and sincerity.

I can relate to what you are saying. I grew up in the Pentecostal Church, so that is all I had ever known. I could probably go on and on with my experiences, but I remember never talking in tongues and my Church would be telling me things like "I can't make it to heaven unless I speak in tongues". I even had on many occasions members come getting me out of the pew and bringing me up front to pray that I speak in tongues. Someone was smacking me in the throat to "help" me speak in tongues. Another time a visiting evangelist pushed or really forced me backwards into the floor and they started saying I was laid out in the spirit. I started really question things and it wasn't until one night during the altar call and coming up for prayer that I looked around and I saw a group of young college age people in the back of the Church talking, cutting up, texting on their phones and I thought how disrespectful they were being and minutes later I look back up at the front of the Church and they were jumping around and speaking in tongues. Then I started seeing so many of these people speaking in tongues in Church and through the week, I heard and witnessed stories of how they were living a sinful worldly life during the week and then on Sundays they were just playing Church. So a lot of it was fake. I started evaluating everything when the pandemic hit and that was when I found the Revealing Truth channel and saw what people were doing in other Churches in the same way. I started reading my Bible more and praying for discernment. I realized that it is true that God is not the author of confusion and I should not have felt like I was in a state of confusion. I do believe in tongues but I had doubts about the people I witnessed speaking in tongues at the Church I went to. And I also had the same type of experience you had, of the preacher like you discussed in one of your other videos where you ended up leaving that Church and he did not care, etc. My mom (who has been a life long Pentecostal member) is still going to the same Church, however she has made the exact same comments of questioning the Church in fake tongues and the way they run the Church, but she still stays there because it is "All she knows". (Sorry so long...but I just wanted others to know how easy it is to be deceived and the main thing is to read your Bible and ask for discernment) Thanks for the video.

We never hear a theologian or apologist take the topic of tongues “in the spirit” seriously. That tells us something. Indeed, tongues cannot be a matter of opinion because the bible is the inerrant Word of God. If we delve for only a few hours into the writings of the scholars, bishops and elders over the last 2,000 years, none felt pressed to discuss tongues as a form of prayer. God doesn’t ask to hear us babble incoherently “in the spirit” anywhere in His Word.

Acts 10:44-48 Says they received the Holy Ghost and spoke with tongues, it is a common gift to all believers like getting water baptized. Also later in Acts 19 2-6 they spoke with tongues it does not say there was interpretation or a known language it was a gift given

Brother, I humbly write this not in any pride but out of concern. Be very careful when you teach others because you, I will give an account if we miss lead people especially speaking against the holy ghost. I speak in tongues but only in a controlled manner. I just can't blurt it out like you did on the video. I never have been able to do that. I've seen people do that, but for me when I'm in private worshiping Jesus or crying out to him sometimes His spirit comes upon me and I speak in tongues and it's a beautiful experience between me and Jesus. I can't even repeat right now or just blurt it out. And I don't go to a church where everyone is speaking in tongues because I believe what the Bible says, do it in order. But please Brother, you are very precious, so please be very careful about what you teach because your first words about this matter was...I started thinking to myself about this, (red flag) instead we need to of seek The Lord about this, ask for wisdom and discernment. And does it coincide with God's holy Word.

Yes, I think we need to be careful how we discuss this topic...tongues is truly a mystery of the Holy Spirit. I know there is alot of false tongues out there, the enemy imitates it well, but we need to be cautious and not say it's all rubbish...we need to pray for discernment and read and study God's Word.

Lifelong Pentecostal here and received my prayer language at 16. I agree…please, please be very cautious. The things I have been hearing against the gift of tongues borders on blasphemy and we all know what the outcome is and do not want to be on that path. My prayer language is personal between myself, the Holy Spirit, Yeshua and YHVH. I have 3 different types…worship/praise, intercession and warfare. All very different. Do I use it in church…yes, but privately. You all need to be very careful how you handle the gifts (all the gifts) of the Holy Spirit.

Back in my late teenage/early 20s I had a lot of Pentecostal friends. Even though most would say you can be a Christian without speaking in tongues, I could see the peer pressure there was in a lot of these churches and groups that everyone had to speak in this form of tongues in order to show they a serious Christian.

I know exactly what you mean. These people are very confused!! The true gift of tongues exists (in another known human language), but the “tongues” that we see today in many churches is not biblical at all. I’ve demonstrated this definitively in the video below! There is not a single instance in Scripture of “tongues” as a private prayer language. This form of tongues simply doesn’t exist, biblically, and is actually a 19th Century invention! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ovIFlCMsgqM.htmlsi=LuxyVhyrKm2WTSlt

Excellent video. I would like to point out that I have had conversations with other Christians that claim they can speak in tongues. Personally, I believe what was used in biblical times was an actual language. Where you could teach about God in their language. God doesn't need you to speak gibberish for Him to hear or understand you. I also just can't see it being practical at all unless it is an unknown/foreign language to you

Fake tongues movement is a fleshly act that people do looking for entertainment, drama and self exalting. The real gift of languages is the real gift of human languages given to believers at the time to spread the gospel. Now we have access to preach the gospel in various forms and we can learn languages too. There were no language schools or internet at that time to spread the gospel in various nations and their tongues. On the day of the Jewish holiday of Pentecost believers from all over the world came to celebrate the festival. They all did not speak the same language but had their own LANGUAGES so the gift of languages was truly a miraculous gift given on that event to promote the gospel. I believe God still uses the true gift of tongues at remote areas where the gospel of Jesus Christ is relayed by a believer in a miraculous intervention of speaking in that native's tongue. The modern day tongues is a demonic and fleshly lie that Satan has concocted to deceive believers.

After I became born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, it was a Pentecostal church I first started attending. It was so powerful and I just loved it, because everyone was so fired up and singing, jumping and praising the Lord. I would leave so excited every week. But I never felt completely accepted, because I never spoke in tongues, but everyone else was doing it. I would ask the Lord to show me how to do it, but I never could. So eventually I had to leave the church, because it seemed like every time I would attend, there would be someone questioning my salvation because of it. I would find myself trying to convince them that I was a Holy Spirit-filled born again Christian. So as much as I loved the church, I felt like I just didnt belong anymore. I even tried once to speak in tongues at the altar just to please them, but I never felt comfortable about it. I really missed that church, and it was really sad that they were so judgemental about it.

I am so glad you made this video 🤗 I was as a young teen when i first had interaction with pentecostal brothers and sisters. To me, personally, I always believed that God is not a god of confusion but of truth and this is for everyone. So when i was once asked to translate english into spanish service at this church, all was good UNTIL all of a sudden it all turned weird crazy... people were coming to the front and the american missionary i was translating for, he asked me to tell this particular lady to say " blah blah bloo bloo..." i was "what?!" and I told him, i don't see Jesus nor any of the disciples or apostles doing any such thing... so no." and i just went and sat down... he came behind and sat next to me because i left them both hanging 🤣 (now that i think about it, it makes me giggle) trying to convince me to tell that lady that... and i insisted that i was not going to do it, period. So that was some experience and i was just around 14-15 yrs old!! Another problem I found was, that one of my collage friends knew that i was attending this pentecostal church and decided to surprise me by going there without me knowing, but unfortunately I was away that weekend.... On Monday, he was waiting for me at the entrance of college and told me "Eva, how can you go to a place where people are crazy nuts off their heads? crying, screaming, shouting in who knows what language?? I cannot believe you go there or have anything to do with them!" ... needless to say, i had to let him speak whilst i did not know what he was talking about. Once he finished i asked him what he was talking about and then all made sense and I said I was so very sorry he had that experience, and also had to explain to him how I don't do that and why not... It was so embarrassing, and that was also a reason why i cut ties with them. My collage friend was an unbeliever, never went to a church... how unfortunate for him to go there, i was not there and he had that experience!! I prayed God about this for many days, we continued to be friends and God granted me the grace and love to share the gospel with him, as that is the most important thing we as Christians are to do. ❤ When I was 11 or 12, we were in South Africa, in a Charismatic church. The people were the most loving I have ever met and it was common to have visitors that did not speak English, coming to the service. I witnessed a case where a man in church started praying in French and I could understand most of it, it was so full of power and God's love... nobody translated it, however when the service came to an end... it so happend that there was a visitor who only spoke French and this man at church who prayed in French, did not know French at all 👀 THAT is when i realized how wonderful God is that He used the brother in church, his prayer in French, to be of blessing to a visitor who only spoke French and was first time church goer. How great is that?!! So... I thought I'd share my experiences and how God uses us to edify, encourage, teach, bless us in and through whom He choses to do so... and He chose that man's prayer in French.... to bless and touch this visitor's life!! Thank you🤗 When i was very young, i had trouble with this and was made feel little because i did not have "the gift of tongues" ... who would have said, God gave me the gift of learning languages easily and loving people through God's love ❤ God bless you and guide you in all you do for His glory 🌷

@@lionoffireraw Thanks for the reply. I know you mean well, but what happened to these verses; “Follow after charity (love) and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaks in an UNKNOWN tongue speaks not unto men, but unto GOD: for NO man understands him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh MYSTERIES. But he that prophesies speaks unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaks in an unknown tongue EDIFIES HIMSELF; but he that prophesies edifies the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.” -- 1 Cor 14:1-5 3:48 Does your tongue edify you spiritually?? I'm glad you put a distinction over 'this form of tongues,' because they are not all the same. Most are unbiblical, but the genuine spiritual gift must still be respected. One artificial distinction is between 'tongues' and 'my prayer language.' The 'prayer language' means they have learned some strange phrases that they simply repeat by rote now. Very unbiblical. Another form is to believe that tongues are prophecy, so the interpretation is prophetic. This is wrong (1 Cor 14:1) and also dangerous, because it skips the protection of judging prophecy. But do be cautious about the need to 'validate' what you see. Scientific proof is not the gauge for whether or not our faith is true. If it is, then it's not really faith.

In all the years that I heard 'tongues' followed by 'interpretations' spoken in charismatic churches I only ever once recognised non-English words in tongues that later appeared (closely) translated into English and at the right places in the interpretation. - Totally convincing and genuine. By the same token, I only ever once heard an obvious charlatan very loudly and maliciously shouting out obvious 'gibberish-tongues' during prayers to provoke a reaction. He must have got more than he bargained for when a very forceful brother gave an equally loud 'prophecy,' warning about the dire consequences of mocking God's spiritual gifts. The truth lies somewhere in between and has to be discerned.

Sixteen different known languages were "heard" on the Day of Pentecost. The hearing was the miracle. New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below? Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. I've been praying about this for years. I agree with you on what you said in your videos about this subject is if God wants me to speak in a tongue he is going to have to do it not by any power of myself. I am a believer in Christ by faith only, not by feeling. I have many christian friends who speak in tongues in their personal prayer time. A lot of the scriptures you quoted against this they quoted for it. I leave it in God's hands. I have always questioned the personal prayer language tongues. I have friends who do this in their private time with God and some even interpret their own tongues and a lot of the time their tongues happens to be about someone else and then they go tell that person this is what God told me about you. I have a lot of issues with this but again I pray for God to make known to those people the truth and as far as I am concerned, like I said earlier, I go by faith not feeling. I am keeping this in prayer as I said for years and as of yet I have not spoken in tounges. I always felt pressured by the church to do so and by friends. I still am not a 100% sure on this issue. Because I know God can do anything. But for me, for now, I leave it in God's hands and ask him to show me if it's something he wants me to do or know. I trust God completely and have faith in him only. Please don't be offended. But I have learned in my Christian walk not to trust man only God and his word. I seek God to teach me. I did appreciate this video. You gave some excellent scripture points that I will bring up the next time this conversation comes up.

This subject has divided the Church so greatly and I think we should probably avoid it all together. Why? Because if those who oppose it are wrong they could blaspheme the Holy Spirit with their words or thoughts. And what is the punishment for that? You can never be forgiven. I do not want anybody to suffer that. If those who do embrace are wrong..they are just wrong. I have come to the point in my walk with Yeshua that I do not ask anyone other than the Holy Spirit what is right. I don’t ask another Christian, I don’t ask a pastor. Only the One who knows the absolute correct answer. What I find is that those who oppose it viscously attack those who do embrace the gift. It’s causing division in the Church and in these last days we need to strive for being in one accord. I know someone will attack what I have just said. I truly would have preferred that you, Matt, left this subject alone. The Church is divided enough.

It takes courage to bring up tongues Matt. Like Catholic’s prayers to Mary, people most often use tongues as a form of begging to God but Tongues is its own religion. Nothing in the Bible speaks of the gift of tongues being for intersession - they are for communication with other people and translatable. Paul tells us not to babble incoherently lest we appear to be out of our minds. Charismatic tongues, dancing and bowing to the floor are all forms of begging, which turns new people off to Christianity who would otherwise go to a church. I consider it disrespectful to others. God, on the other hand, probably just lets it go - as with all mistaken attempts to get his attention in the place of genuine repentance.

Once again a good example of preaching what we’ve all been thinking. Raised Pentecostal 11 years here. When I was baptised in water I came out speaking in a language I’ve never heard before or since. I can only pinpoint 2 other occasions where there was genuine spirit led speaking in tongues. My pastor instructed me to do it on a number of occasions but it felt totally unnatural so like yourself I also stopped doing it. I don’t doubt this is a real phenomenon but we must use spiritual discernment to understand when it should be used to edify oneself or the body of Christ.

Just to add a related word, I’ve been increasingly aware of the Kundalini spirit in charismatic & pentecostal circles, and have a desire to see this completely exposed in our churches. It’s time to wake up and stop being deceived people. Keep those prayers coming, Jesus wants you to have the authentic Holy Spirit and not the fake “experience” that so many have been trying to promote.

I believe that if someone speaks in tongues, there is also an interpreter present. If there is no one to say what God is saying as well, then it's not from God. People are just doing it for attention. Causing confusion. Satan is the author of confusion. I believe this because of the Bible and a church I went to as a kid. People did speak in tongues there, and there was an interpreter present. I trust the interpreter very much.

I am so sick of the tongues debate. Jesus literally says in scripture that speaking with new tongues will be a sign of THOSE THAT BELIEVE. Unfortunately human flesh along with demonic influences have poisoned peoples hearts and minds and twisted the beauty and power of the this wonderful gift God has given us. Sometimes people fake it out of desperation or even bc they have an evil spirit. It really makes those of us that have this gift look bad. But that’s the devil for you. The only conclusion I can come to brother is that either you never actually ever spoke in tongues via the Holy Spirit or you did and you’ve be tempted and lied to by the devil to doubt what God did. I pray the God restore your faith and open your understanding in Jesus name. Love you

Surely this was a special event that was used by the Holy Spirit to enable so many people to understand what the disciples were saying. An ecstatic utterance. Of you're carried away and make utterances that can be good. They aren't real languages though. Neither the hearer nor the speaker understands. Imagine having the gift of understanding a foreign language. That would be incredible. But no one has ever claimed that. Experiment. 10 recordings lasting 3 minutes. 7 are people speaking tongues. 3 are speaking in a rare and unusual language. I reckon it would be fairly easy to identify the real languages and the tongues. I think Google Translate probably would also.

It just seems to me that there is so much division in the Church. No wonder the world doesn’t know what the Church is supposed to look like. I’m just disappointed. And looking through the comments I have to question how does these comments fulfill what Yeshua said in John 13:35..”By this all will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” We are free to disagree but some of the comments are quite rude. What I don’t agree with is the charismatic movement…wof/nar…they do abuse this gift. What we as christians should be doing is asking the Holy Spirit what the truth is…not each other. Lastly, what concerns me is what do the lost think when they read the comments on all the “Christian” RU-vid channels? Do we display love for each other or contempt? It seems to be more of the latter and I’m sure they think that we aren’t any different that they are so why should they change. Our first concern on social media should be how do we look to the world. How do we represent Yeshua? I said my piece and I’m done.

Well, there are a lot of different views about this First, I would say pray very hard and be very careful. Seek out God and seek out scripture My story is, I went to a charismatic church, and I was drawn to the emotionalism. Everybody spoke in tongues, and I always felt like a bit of an outsider so actually, I started forcing it and putting in a lot of effort into making it up and sometimes even mimicking what I would hear other people doing This never felt right And actually, everybody would be doing it all at once and my pastor would do it. I would always wonder what are you saying Andyin my spirit sometimes it felt a little demonic. There was so much funkiness going on at that church and after 17 years, God, very clearly shut the door, and I have also stopped speaking in tongues For me, I have much bigger experience with God and Jesus, my Lord and Savior when I am reading the Bible and praying out scripture and memorizing scripture. When the enemy is attacking me and I can combat him with scripture, it is much more powerful than some babbling that I have to even question if it is from God. To each his own man, but I can’t do it. The Bible fills me with holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit motivates me to read the Bible. I am being super Duper careful and staying on the narrow path Hey man, I’m not telling anyone what to do here. I am just sharing my experience. There is a lot more that I do question about the charismatic church and I need to seek out God and the Bible in all of that. There was tons of speaking in tongues going on all at once and nothing was being interpreted. And part of the reason I left church was because it was very clear that there was some demonic influence Coincidence? Hmmmm………

Edification is the key..Paul insists tounges in a group setting be one at a time and only if someone can translate. Translation isnt mystical..Tounges "Glossaria" simply means languages, real ones. In Acts the city was full of Jews from all over the Empire as it was still part of a pilgram feast portion of the year and attendance if possible was mandatory. The scripture said each heard the Apostles in thier own language.. real languages from around the empire... this actually suggests the message was repeated over in more than one real language regardless the Apostles were not normally able to speak them not some mystical babbling. Ask missionaries in places where the language is very rare and region specific. Often interpretors struggle with dialects but many times I have heard of them praying and finding a strange language coming out of thier mouths only to discover the person with that odd dialect heard perfectly in thier own language by the Spirit , the gospel in the prayer. A friend of mine and well known Hebrew speaking bible teacher was in Germany in a large cathederal with his Israeli wife. When time was allotted for personal prayers with our Lord from your own seat they were both surprised to hear a young German woman praying a beautiful and sctripturally based prayer in ancient rather than modern Hebrew. It really moved them as they understood it. After the service they greeted her in Hebrew only to recieve a blank stare and "sorry I dont understand what you are saying"... turned out this Hebrew was her private prayer language she fell into when unsure how to pray but she didnt even know it was Hebrew let alone ancient Hebrew... but she was always internally edified by the Spirit when she prayed that way as he pointed her to the word recalling things to her mind. Preaching to the Chior here I know but just wanted to balance things by remembering the actual gift is real regardless 99.9% probably of what we see in the Western world is just babbling at best and sometimes actually demonic ( a story for another time) --- consider this though. Pauls urgency that our noise edify else just shut up (better one word understood than 1000 never comprehended) actually points to the elephant in the room. English. Given that outside of missionary service to the third world , almost all modern church people live in societies with well established national languages, most often English and even when I am in Asia I preach in English because everyone understands it generally--- so the Gift of tounges is entirely redundant in that situation, edification proceeds with no need for it... thereby the reality we have no reason to expect the Spirit to manifest it in the general absence of the need for its function... no surprise then that the real thing is so very rare in our normal church experience. rare but not totally absent. Shalom. Love the truth, walk in it

“Speaking not to men, but to God” - means that only God can understand I.e. it serves no purpose for the people in the church, without an interpreter (that’s the whole context). It’s saying this is a BAD thing, not a good thing! It’s not saying that it’s a prayer language. The true gift of tongues exists (in another known human language), but the “tongues” that we see today in many churches is not biblical at all. I’ve demonstrated this definitively in the video below! There is not a single instance in Scripture of “tongues” as a private prayer language. Sorry brother on this point you are mistaken maybe in a public place no, when you are talking to Jesus and interceding inPrayer it is essential as we can’t understand in our mind what the Spirit needs us to pray for. It could be someone we don’t know. We are also limited in words when we speak to the Holy Spirit. First you prayer in English then when words run out, the Spirit uses another language so we can move the hand of our Father. I have seen evidence of this many , many times.
@lionoffireraw
@lionoffireraw 3 месяца назад
Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit intercedes for us. This verse is not talking about speaking in tongues. So we don’t need tongues, for the Spirit to intercede for us when we don’t have words. It also cannot be essential, because 1 Cor 12 clearly tells us, that not all will have the gift of tongues. So to claim that this is essential, would mean that most Christians don’t have something that is essential for prayer. That’s clearly false. The truth is, that the gift of tongues is not a secret prayer language. No, where is this taught in the Bible. It is a known human language. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 1 Corinthians 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 1 Corinthians 13:10 But when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end. Thar which is perfect is Jesus. When he returns these things will no longer be needed, for we will be with him forever in peace. 1 Corinthians 14:2 For the person who speaks in another language is not speaking to men but to God, since no one understands him; however, he speaks mysteries in the Spirit. The key phrase is; "he speaks mysteries in the Spirit." This takes us back to that "he is not speaking to men, but to God." This has nothing to do with speaking or prophesying in the chirch. This gift is for edifing oneself through the Spirit. In other words, the Spirit is praying for the speaker and for what, well we really don't know other then lifing that person praying up before God. Remember, it is a mystery, yet it has value with God. I believe this is why Paul says to be silent as in one's closet when speaking in this type of tongues, for it does not edify the church but to be used in your personal prayer life. Ask youself, would you blurt out you sins in church when praying, neither are you to use tongues in this way. Yes they are widely different, but like repenting of your sin's you do alone with God and that's how this type of prayer should be handled. There are two gifts of tongues as it stands, a scacred time between you and your Heavenly Father through the Holy Spirit and another human language to help the unbeliever to believe. How do we know Paul is talking about the Holy Spirit and not our own when speaking mysteries? Because in 14:2, the word Spirit is captialized where if it was our spirit, it would be lower case. Peace

Great discerning testimony! It must be remembered a church must have an interpreter who knows all the languages of the world, and he needs to be tested by having various people groups who thoroughly know their native languages and dialects to verify an interpreter does indeed know every language of the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. Only with an interpreter present can you allow speaking in tongues or languages. Of course, the interpreter must be above reproach to make sure he never lies or misinterprets in the church. Because an interpreter knows all the languages of the world he is excising a greater gift than tongues. Tongues is the least of all the gifts and we need to strive for the greater-those gifts which minister such as the gift of helps as is commanded in 1 Corinthians 12:31. Some time ago, I spoke to a man who wanted me to speak in tongues. I asked him why he did not ask me if I had the gift of helps. It was like he eliminated all the other gifts and wanted everyone to speak in tongues, though Paul says not all speak in tongues. And 1 Corinthians is the only place this gift is mentioned amongst the gifts. Other passages that list spiritual gifts do not mention tongues. These are the books of the Bible penned later than 1 Corinthians. And remember, there is an “if” clause regarding speaking in the tongues of angels. It is akin to Christ stating if John remains until I come again, what is that to you, stated to Peter. This was an if clause and John is no longer residing on the earth. His spirit is in heaven. You cannot build a doctrine around an if clause. The Bible makes it clear, to speak forth the Word of God is far more important as all are edified by the Scriptures and all are challenged in holiness. Christians must pray for continual spiritual discernment and remain in the study of the Bible so they note the false teachers. Val Lee of “val lee weblog” vallee7.wordpress.com
