Oh my goodness!! That mantle is beautiful! What a difference a couple coats of paint makes! Amazing transformation! I painted my brick fireplace several years ago to an off white and it made such a difference!! My bricks were a pinkish color, yuck! Good job, Crystal!!

I love this. but I'm so nervous to try it. I have a beautiful built in brick mantle central to the house but its built in the 80s. it would be a make or break on resale on my 800G house I know for sure. a little outdated but like I said I'm scared it may not look right.

It looks great! I said you wouldn’t regret it and I knew it :-) I’m wondering if I would do something different though on the inside layer where it’s green. The green clashes with the Walls a bit. Not sure if you should paint that white as well or something more contrasting

I'm confused where is the link for the chalk paint you used? Also we are looking to do the same thing on a fireplace about the same size as yours. How much paint would we need and what if we were also doing a full length mirror in the same finish how much product will we need for both items. I see you have a link for wax but I don't see a link for the paint.

Hello, I am from Canada, BC. I am wanting to paint my fireplace, but never used chalk paint. I think you sold me on doing this lol. but question. does chalk paint mark or scratch easy? I put a tv on top of my fire place ( electric fireplace) and worried it will ruin the finish. Also. do you have any videos on how to do coffee tables / end tables? Mine are from my grandmother that has passed. And want to paint them to also brighten up my dark living room. Thank you. Nikki

Looks amazing! Question for you, I have thought about painting our gas fireplace, but the wood surround gets pretty warm when we use it. My husband says I need to use high heat intensity paint. Do you know if the paint you used is high heat intensity?

Consider a flat-sided, wide vase and fill with tall slim grass or tree branch, cat tails in the spring.

I moved it! It's actually in the playroom now (and anchored to the wall). It fits so much better in there and now the fireplace is more open. :)

Jennifer Cosme I’ve read that chalk paint adheres to wood better (furniture, kitchen cabinets, etc). I’m wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets and I think that’s what I’m going to use.
