I came across your show while following the NHL to Salt Lake rapid fire story, and really enjoy your perspective and humor. I realize the storyline’s around this are still fresh snd ongoing, but once the dust settles will you continue to cover this (and other) SLC stories? What would North American sports leagues look like if they used a European football model? Leagues of no more than 20 teams, no salary caps. The other 10-12 teams would go to a lesser league, itself expanded to 20 teams. These NA “premiere” leagues would have a limited playoff to win the Stanley Cup, Super Bowl, etc. The bottom 2 or 3 teams would be relegated to the lesser league with the chance of promotion for others. Anyway, I know it’s a radical way of going about things for North American leagues which rely on playoff chases and playoff runs to generate revenues. This is more a thought experiment than something that might actually happen but fortune favours the bold. Hockey and Baseball seem best positioned to make such a switch. Brodie: I have a question for you. What cities would you like to see an expansion franchise in for each league? Preferably four different cities, one for each league.

I started watching this channel because the algorithm led me to you last year when the A's moving saga took center stage and live in the Lehigh Valley, so I was unfamiliar with you until then.

How about a challenge for you Brodie. What local racing series do you think you could get into if you were going to start following one? So not talking NASCAR, Indycar, F1 or other top racing series. I'm talking your local dirt or pavement track that's nearest to you type racing. Series to look into are Dirt/pavement sprintcars, late models, modifieds, supermods etc. Could just be the type of car you would be most interested in since most cars have various series that run them throughout the nation. Look back, this may have been the most obvious clue the A's & MLB had no intention of staying in Oakland...Did you ever hear a solid reason from MLB, the A's or Fisher as to why the Coliseum site was never going to be "viable" for a new stadium? When in fact, it was probably the most viable site of all considered over the last 30 years given location, size, proximity to transportation, and a ready to build site for building a state of the art stadium village.

I'm an East Coast guy who visits Vegas regularly, and you seem to have a beat on the A's move. What are your predictions around the move with respect to: - Will the A's be in a finished stadium at the Tropicana Vegas site in 2028? - What do you think will get in the way logistically (public funds, permits, public opposition in Vegas, etc) from completing the move on time/as planned? - Will the A's succeed in Vegas? VGK is Vegas born, and Raiders will always draw heavy away crowds when every NFL game counts, but in baseball you can't count on travel fans for 1/162nd of a season record. I was at the Coliseum for the DH on Wednesday which was my first time there in 12 years and I loved everything about the stadium and the experience. Talked to some long time A’s fans and ushers and they all seem to be coping with the final season in different ways. I’ve never experienced losing a team and I can only remotely find comparison in when a team moves to a new venue. The times when the Rangers left Arlington Stadium and The Ballpark were very sad and I long for the days of them playing in them again but I know it doesn’t compare to losing the team. How have you found yourself coping with the upcoming departure in September? My other topic would be that I began learning about cricket 5 years ago and have since become a huge fan of the sport. Probably my number 3 favorite now behind MLB and NHL. Have you ever watched or invested any time with cricket?

Hey Brodie, my challenge to you is to answer this: “What will it take, what event will have to happen, for officiating in the NHL playoffs to actually happen?” We see refs ignore plain facts, and even with a call they can make to give them a chance to review a play, they don’t change their behaviour. With one game having no less than 3 plays that could end a career, all not called, it seems inevitable that a play will hospitalize someone and end a career, and the play is never called on the ice even right in front of a ref.

How long have you been bowling and are you in any leagues or bowl tournaments? Earl Anthony’s puts on quite a few tournaments and it would be great to see you down there competing.

I suppose a question that some of the newer and particularly non-Bay Area followers might ask is: How did you get into the sports broadcasting world? Was it something you always sought to do, and is it (professionally and independently) turning out compared to what you expected?

How about a video on why sports franchises move? Specifically, the NHL. One quarter of the current NHL Franchises have been involved in a move (relocation) of some kind. That seems like a lot. Maybe a video with the new Salt Lake NHL Team coming, about which sport has the most relocation?

Brodie, as someone who has his finger on the pulse of the game, if you were the commissioner of MLB, what changes would you implement? What are the things that our game badly needs to improve? I would like to discuss the future of baseball broadcasting. Sinclair went bankrupt and Bally's Sport Net is very uncertain. There has been talk of those teams moving to Prime, the NFL, YES Network, and PBC Showtime boxing have begun broadcasting on Prime. The Diamondbacks are broadcasting on MLBTV. Do you see NBCSN teams moving to Peacock and other teams offering streaming services moving forward?

Well, the most burning question that I would have, that you understandably may not be able to answer, is your assessment of the state of RSNs - including your own - and what their survivability odds are. They are the lynchpins of modern pro sports, and a large part of what has enabled the exaggerated wealth and hubris of teams and their owners. The Diamond/Ballys/Sinclair failure seems to indicate a problem with the entire RSN business model, and thus making it a fait accompli that we may see more of them. Yes, I'm particularly curious about how the John Fisher A's will be affected when they fall off of the boat in September, but this is a specter that casts a shadow over all professional sports except for the NFL. Also, the topic of cord cutting by fans is what precipitated all of this, but we all know how pro sports leagues are managed, and how they will double down and price gouge for access to their product, exacerbating the very problem that is taking down RSNs themselves. It's a given that you can only talk about so much, if you're not needing to avoid the topic entirely by NBC policy...Another question. Do you, Casey, or any of the other sport pundits there in NorCal get any sense of an alternative baseball league, with a community-based ownership model, being built with the Oakland Ballers as a nucleus? Granted this season is a trial period and that there is some wait and see involved, but are these guys looking farther down the road to the point that they are looking at establishing a legit alternative to MLB - at least in California?...And finally, a softball question for you personally. Could you have ever imagined before the A's relo travesty began a couple of years ago that you as a sports broadcaster would become entwined in such various and mundane topics such as urban planning, corporate structure, political process, finance and bond issuance, and even tax law, just simply trying to cover sports teams?... 😃...Good or bad for you?...And now an "Atta boy!". According to Social Blade your viewership and subscriber numbers went hockey stick sometime around mid-February. This coincided with when you cast your coverage net outside of the Bay Area to include the Coyotes situation, the White Sox, the KCMO tax repeal, among others - suggesting that you are very effective at fishing outside your home waters. Keep in mind that your level of talent and insight, say nothing of balanced journalism, doesn't exist in all markets. The advice? Seek ye the truth whereverset thou might find it, and thou shalt be fed by those who cometh to hear it... Mabuhay!...

I am curious as to why MLB seems so opposed to cutting Oakland a Coyotes like deal: Why not say to Oakland, "Get a solid stadium plan together within five years and we will give you a team." I mean, there is no risk to MLB. If Oakland can do it, great. If not, they don't get another team.

In a previous video you mentioned about the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears and how they want to plan for new stadiums. My question is, if neither of those teams get the new stadium, what do you think realistically might happen to both of these franchises?

In soccer, it’s relatively common for teams to close off 1/4 of their stadiums for renovations during a season, which is obviously easier because of the layout of the stadium. Can this reasonably be done for baseball? And has a team done this (other than Mount Davis as that was more a football renovation)?

Hockey Question: What is one recommendation you have that can make the NHL better in terms of overall fan experience?
