Brandon and Tyler are great examples of how practitioners are supposed to behave: they have vast amounts of knowledge and ability, and ZERO ego. Safety always comes first, both for you and your partner.
Pause the video and really take a look at Brandon's hands and feet. Beautifully thick bone and muscle structure, like a big ole Saint Bernard puppy. No wonder his grips and posts are incredible - he was BUILT for it. And being Minnesota, I bet that was THE most polite ass-kicking ever. LOL!
The pants certainly help with controlling the leg! However, the reason I'm in a gi is because this was on a Wednesday. Wednesday is gi day. Most only BJJ guys wear gi's at the Academy on wednesdays at 11am. Tyler came in nogi. (Note. There are also other nogi guys in the room training at the same time. That is the MMA team.)
I love outside passing since I'm a little lad. Tyler you're going to need to get some twinkle toes and be a tad lighter on your feet if you're going to be outside passing these leglockers lol. Them thunder thighs are too bussin to be moving that slow xD
Yes but only very good heel hookers are landing them now on their modern contemporaries and only when you see a deep practiced ashi. It has made the flow of technique complete and this generation is very very skilled for it
good video, had to click this one since l live just about a mile from Greg's school (the Academy where this was filmed) & have trained martial arts in Minnesota for 35 years 👍
@@NoBody-tz4fb I'd say it's the other way around leg lockers duck MMA competition... that said I use knee bars and heel hooks like no tomorrow in MMA however I never play guard to get there
