These fuel hikes are ridiculous, the profits these companies are making are scandalous, we take pictures of our meters too, and have gone back to paper bills, just to keep an eye on things, at least we are heading the right way for the days to get longer and I love January because my garden is already starting to come alive, daffodils are pushing through and lots of new growth appearing all over, the cake treat looked yummy!
I went to the store today and came home and realized I forgot to get cooking oil. The prices are just absolutely crazy! I love diet Coke and I refuse to get it today. Your meal look delicious.

I have smart meters that were put in by British Gas in 2015, I've since left them, this was to get free electric for three years on a Sunday. British gas wanted to increase my DD by £15 per month that's why I left them in March 2018 when the tariff was within 40 days of ending. I'm now on a tracker tariff with Octopus and averaging 17.5p per kWh for electric and 4.3p for gas.
I buy all my food in Lidl, with their app you get vouchers and free bits then if u spend £250 a month u get 10% off your next shop. Plus loads of their prices have gone down in past few months including butter, ready meals, muesli, milk .
Thank you for the reminder to take a photo of the meter reading👍. We bought four bags of the cheap parsnips ready to dry, prep and blanch and pop into the freezer, we had plenty to go with our Sundays dinners for a while last time. Must go check the potatoes and dry them out (picked up two bags). Happy New Year and may 2024 be kind to us all.
I won’t go in my local Lidl - it’s really grubby, and I hate dirty shops. When you went in The Pickled Postie and looked at the cakes, I thought the cranberry slices were one giant slice of pizza!
I love Boxing Day leftovers for dinner. It’s almost as good as Christmas dinner, but it doesn’t take hours to prepare! My husband is out buying food now. He’s getting pretty good at bargains. Have a very Happy New Year, Jill! Xxx
Jill be careful when you are taking a walk in your forests on a windy day. Many a tree limb has come crashing down and Injured people. We have had several such cases here in Canada as well. So be wary and alert. ‼️

It rained all day yesterday (the 28th) but is cool and sunny today. That was a big price difference on the oil.😲 For a minute I thought you had to do your own meter reading. 😄 Our electric bill goes way down Jan-Mar because we're not running the air conditioner. Our heat is gas but we never turn it on. The coldest I've even see it inside was 60` F. Have a wonderful New Years Eve.🤗🎉🎇
There will be a noticeable difference in the quality of the olive oil....where possible try to get the extra virgin....regular olive is can be hard on the taste buds..❤❤

They are a load of bulldust. Most 70% off stuff is Christmas. The rest is odd sized left overs from black Friday sales on 24 November reduced only 30%. I find that the real deals are in October and start of November when there are clearance sales moving stock to make way for Christmas... that's the time to hunt!!😂 and of course Apr/may winter clearance are the other sales, which is when I get my winter reduced stock from London shipped straight to Australia just in time for winter. @@BeFree-BeFrugal you too! I was also thinking that maybe you need antioxidants which is why the oranges.. but if you can find them, buy RED or BLOOD oranges. They have 9 x the antioxidants than regular naval oranges, double the Vitamin A and a raft of polyphenols, which are also found in red fruits like cherries, red grapes and berries, and rhubarb... so kinda noticing the fetishes might be telling you something?
Not sure about your maths but it's only £2.16 of a difference for the olive oil (£4.99 v £7.15). Also you weren't comparing like for like as the Tesco oil is Extra Virgin Olive oil which is always more expensive than regular OO.
You’re right , my maths was wrong, just over £2 difference..still a lot. It was just standard, not virgin olive oil, the bottle on the right was in the wrong place , the label is standard oil. Have a good New year 💫
