I created some of the most useless and funny items in Dungeons and Dragons. These Items will either have your players laughing their brains out or slamming their heads on the table

The ring of ring teleportation is good for triggering traps at some distance --- or even for sending a signal for an army to attack or somesuch, if it has enough range.

I don't think there's any way to make it useless honestly unless I make the temeportation random so it just disappears

@@NotDeadSpider oh definitely. Using them breadcrumbs style to mark paths. Using them as infinite ammunition with a slingshot. Collecting them in containers during free time for even more uses, including selling them to towns for roads. If you had the magic mouth spell you could ritual cast it to make and sell magic talking pebbles to people as novelty or even legitimate protection. Depending on how long it would take to set up you could also try making hazardous terrain by putting out a lot of pebbles in a corridor. Maybe a dm would let me block a doorway with them if I could convince the dm it wouldn't take to long to get enough pebbles. I love items that reward the most creative uses.

The Compass of Magic Detection could be a pretty cool perpetual motion machine if it just spins wildly like I imagine it would.

Ring of Attunement - Grants the wearer an additional attunement slot. (Requires attunement)

Sword of a thousand woes is useful to keep people up. Stone of healing could also be useful. Resistance for instance would half the dmg done. You could heal some one to near full for free under that condition. Also as well, immunity to dmg, then it would heal the 1d4. It could also be used to bring a downed ally up at the cost of a death save. This also synchronizes with the spell beacon of hope if you wanted to do that for whatever reason.

Maybe I should make the stone 2d4 damage so not much healing is done if any

Sword of a Thousand Woes sounds like it’s made of Pandemonic Silver. Weapons made of that material in 3.5 had an associated fear effect when unsheathed with a strength dependent on surrounding wind speeds.

WotC has their own collection of useless magic items. The are called Common magic items. There are a few exceptions but for the most part this is the case.

@@NotDeadSpider Armor of Gleaming: this armor never gets dirty Band of Loyalty: if reduced to zero HP while attuned to this ring you die instantly Boots of false tracks: only humanoids can wear, you can choose to leave the tracks of another like sized humanoid. Cloak of billowing: while wearing you can use a bonus action to make it billow dramatically. Ersatx Eye (Attunement): this artificial eye replaces one that was lost or removed. It can't be removed by anyone but you and you see through it normally. There are more but I stopped at E. You can also look up things like the wand of smiles for useless with a Spell save DC

@@NotDeadSpider the pebbles can be charged with the cantrip making them a d6 thrown weapon. Personally I would add catapult to the list and maybe even a sling. Worse case scenario a rock is an improved weapon so take the tavern brawler feat and you have a constant weapon.

Question: does the wand of pointing block somatic spell components? Can I ready the action to pu it into the BBEGs pocket at the worst of times and he starts pointing and waists his action? Can I move the immovable gem using a bag of holding? Does klicking your heels together more than 500 times a second do sonic damage in a radius around it (and me)?

It should not block somatic spell components. You might be able to slip it into his hand to make him point but if it's in his pocket it shouldn't make him use it unless he decides to take it out, which could be interesting If you can somehow use a vacuum of some sort or move the bag under the gem it could potentially get in there but I'd see it as extremely difficult God, I never thought of that cause you could technically have infinite turns... I'd say possibly if the dm allows it but it would damage you as well

@@NotDeadSpider well for the gem, if it is indeed immovable then it won't be affected by gravity, as such just digging under it and then putting it in the bag should work. If gravity us the only force to work..then reverse it so that it goes in by itself.

Heels of action can back fire if your player will prolong their turn indefinitely

Sorry, I didn't mean to spam. I was trying to see if anyone had any ideas for some really bad cards I couldn't find good pairs with. It's for a new video, I dont see many videos trying to fix bad cards. I'm glad you like my videos
