For a tip, make sure you trim at least 2-3 times a year and cold water when rinsing out the deep conditioner keeps the moisture in your hair. Also your hair has come a long way from what it was 2 years ago. love to see it!

Consider consuming collagen peptide powder to increase your hair’s strength & density. I’ve been consuming it for about 3 years now and it never ceases to amaze the benefits. Your hair seems to thin at the ends like mines use to. It’s a sign of nutrient deficiency particularly collagen. I would encourage you to study it. The bovine tends to be the most popular and readily available. The research suggests marine collagen is closest to what humans produce. There are some that contain all 5 different kinds. But honestly, from my experience, with consistency the bovine, within 3 weeks, my stylist could tell the difference and I didn’t even tell her I started consuming it. I initially took a serving in the morning and one in the evening the first 30 days then dropped back down to a serving.

That’s my go to natural hairstyle when I have enough hair. I haven’t trimmed in about a year as I was waiting for my hair to grow back. I typically cut or trim every 4 months. Actually, I’m always cutting on it. I am quick to get rid of ends I think need it and I am also scissor happy 😅 I even went bald about two years ago.

Hey Adana! Tip: trim your hair as needed, which means you need to observe your hair & see when it’s not doing well then trim ends that need to go. I trim 1-2 times a year depending on what my hair feels like. Also, on the single strand knots, I’d guess you have fine hair strands like me. I think we’re more susceptible to them. The number 1 cause is dryness. I notice more of them when I don’t do a great job at moisturising Your hairstyle was popping! I’ll also do 2 flat twists soon. It looks so simple & elegant!❤
@michelleeja412
@michelleeja412 2 месяца назад
I trim as needed which is average of every 4 to 5 months. Upon the 4/5-month timeframe if my hair is thriving, then I don't trim it. I do not put heat in my hair or over manipulate it with combs or brushes to detangle (finger detangle only) so that's why I don't need to trim often. Also, single strand knots are almost non-existent because I changed my regimen drastically during 2020 and started washing my hair every 7-10 days instead of monthly and re-moisturizing every 3-4 days. The #1 thing that has my hair thriving is not following trends or having other people in my hair.

The key is to keep your ends creamed moisturized and greased. Finger detangle gently in the shower, then gently detangle with a pic🪮 start at the ends. Deep condition your hair EVERY week. NEVER wash your hair when you’re mad, sad, or angry. If you do this you won’t have to do 2-3 unnecessary trimmings a year.

Protective styling doe not mean you should cleanse scalp and moisturise your hair as normal. As the plaits start growing out you should use the crotchet hook to twist the hair back to the scalp one because it keeps it looking neat and also stops the extensions from pulling on your roots. Hope this makes sense.

My hair is now thickening and im going to be cutting the thin ends soon as the hair gets fuller. Get blood test to check your ferritin and vit d3 levels. Apparently you need ferritin of at least 70 to get your hair at optimum.

Guys, please. It’s not about moisturizing your hair in the protective style. I’m a braider and braiders don’t tell you the braiding hair is what pulls the moisture from your hair. Also, braids are not supposed to left in for months at a time. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I know people pay a lot for them, but it’s not beneficial to the hair to leave them in for a long time. We also don’t consider the fact that the products that ppl use these days contain alcohol and drying ingredients that can cause buildup. Moisturizing your hair in the protective style does nothing but add to the buildup.

Our hair is meant to shrink. I know most of us feel feminine and good with long hair but 4c will never do that unless you blow dry it/silk press. It takes a long time for us to have a huge afro because of shrinkage. And the more our hair shrinks the healthier it is. So you might as well accept it and get locs or nice braided hairstyles. Im at the "awkward stage" too so I get it and I'm going to be here for another 2-3 more years despite when I straighten it ,it is shoulder length. In the meantime I do braided hairstyles with breaks inbetween when I want to feel good.
