I absolutely love watching the face repainting go from 'idk I can maybe see glimpses' to 'OMG there they are!' This took longer than usual for me to get to that point but, as always, it ended up perfect!

I agree with you about the philtrum being too short on the doll, but when the head is tilted up, it's a good likeness. I saw her come through as you worked on the lips and teeth, and you definitely improved the crusty hair.

For some reason I had trouble finding recent pictures of her, but I didn't think the doll looked much like her out of the box, or even much like her when she was topping charts. You definitely captured her cherubic cheeks and lovely eyes. I would have loved to see her signature glam eye look (heavy eyeliner on upper lids) that she used to wear a lot to go with the super glam dress, but this also looks good! I think that heavy winged eyeliner was such a recognizable signature for her that it stands out for me. Also WOW the hair transformation - so much better! This is a great update to the doll without actually changing it much - I don't think you "destroyed" it at all!

100% better than the original doll! Mattel definitely does not capture a true likeness of any celebrity that they have done. You always do a fantastic job of capturing a realistic likeness in your artwork on these dolls. I have never been disappointed in your talents as an artist ❤

Just stunning !! ❤ You should check out the Mego company's dolls they made for the 'Charmed' series-Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, and Holly Marie Combs. They are hideous. The original doll was nice-looking but flat. You could see that it was sculpted to look like Mariah. You can really see it in the smile. This was the makeover that she needed. Looks beautiful.

I think you did a really good job minus the skin tone. She looks just like her now very realistic but a tad to pale. I’d say the skin tone to begin with was more spot on.

I came here to see if anyone else noticed the large amount of almost "flashback appearing" white on the face. As I read through all the comments I thought maybe it was just my eyes, but thankfully...it was not.

@@tamaradavis3693 Oh no girl it wasn't your eyes. She "blushed" as she likes to call it the body lighter too. You can contour and make dimension without white washing. She made her whiter. There has been periods of time where she was lighter and times where she was darker, but in general shes not that pale.

Agree. The skintone almost matching the colour of the teeth is pretty alarming imo. She made MC too pale. And I keep seeing this pattern in her repaints, where she tend to whitewash characters with a darker than white skintones. It's not highlighter, it's clown makeup imo.

Take in account the light and the camera, and the way the shading of some dolls make their faces look paler, we quickly forget them. It’s so crazy because the original Barbie sculpt for her I was thought without reference in front of me that looks like Mariah to me but the SECOND you started on her brow shape I was like OH 😂 yeah that’s a significant improvement to how she actually looks! I guess that’s kind of the difference between like a more artistic “interpretation” done by a commercial scale toy company versus a practiced artist rendering a reference as closely as they can. Amazing work! I know the OG Mariah fans are going to go bananas for this one!
