Quite inspirational. Im a 66 year old woman that just started working out at the gym 5-7 days a week for about a year now. I don’t know how realistic it is for me, but now i want to work on doing handstands!

Linda, I just started working on handstands a couple weeks ago. I'm 65 good luck to you. I started out with planks and decided a handstand would be more adventurous.

I practice handstand for 8 years. I am 59 years old. I can hold it for 2 minutes. I practice almost every day. At first it's even difficult to breathe. Nowadays I can sing, talk and feel floating. I watched every video, every tip that exists on youtube, and it helped. But the most important thing is simply to turn yourself upside down and your body by itself will begin to "learn" for you. Every achievement is a victory, and learning the handstand never ends, it's levels of improvement. The three tips you gave are basic and correct. I would say that as soon as a person feels progressing, feels comfortable in the position, they should start doing handstand pushups against the wall. Use books to adjust height and graduate. This will help to strengthen the shoulders a lot, balance. Handstand only brings me pleasure, and through it I learned many other skills, because many skills are connected, intertwined, and in this chain, handstant is basic. It takes time to learn, but we don't even notice it, because it's addictive and fun.

Well I Am 41 . I just started flexibility journey and really considering handstands . What kinda stops me is that I am tall and my shoulder flexibility and posture are bad. and while I am not weak my body was not conditioned to this kind of work. doubts haunt me if I will be able to complete journey to being able to do a free standing handstand

This was a really cool video. And I don't mean just for handstands, or exercise. But for learning anything in general. It takes a lot of skills we don't normally use to achieve long term goals like this, especially in this day and age of instant everything. And this gets right to the heart of it, especially the part about celebrating the little wins, and enjoying them. Before just moving on. ✌️
@sam-browne

Phenomenal video. Inspired me to finally achieve my handstand. Starting my journey today. So often I find myself failing because results don’t come quick enough. Not because I can’t do something, simply because I’m not patient enough to take the time. Just like you said about videos saying do this in five minutes do that in three days. That’s not how true skill works. It takes years of work to achieve your goals. Patience and determination. So thank you for helping me realize that.

I am very on and off with breakdancing, but for the last 3 years ive been on my fully committed no stopping handstand journey and about a year into the full calisthenics journey. I am doing really good so far with it all! but you are so damn right when you mentioned that you always want something better and you dont take the time to appreciate where you are. I am always trying to do the next cool combo, or spin on one hand and do it better, or combo down to a shoulder hold from my hands and back up, but I never stop and truly appreciate how far ive come. This video reminded me to do that and just be a bit more considerate and humbled with myself. Awesome vid man and shoutout from South Africa!
