We love to have you here in the Philippines, Mergim....thank you for choosing our country as your home base....you are a very entertaining vloggers..your contents are packed with quality information, educational, novelties....originalities...with an eye for details....that sets you apart from other vloggers. Keep vlogging, Mergim.... it's worth our time watching your videos. God bless...enjoy Philippines.
Just a tip, if you wanna go to Quiapo try to avoid friday, saturday and sunday ( weekends) because that is the time that the devotees of the black Nazarene visits. So if i were you id would go from monday to thursday. While divisoria doesnt really close, i suggest you go before the opening of the malls, before 10am so youll be done by 3pm and can go home early to avoid the rush hour traffic at 5pm.
The joyride driver said “joyride lang ang malakas.” The sentence “ lang ang malakas.” is an expression that’s been made popular in the last maybe three or four years. It literally means is the only strong thing.. you say it when that thing is awesome. For example, “Mergim Vlogs lang ang malakas!”
In the Phils.. you can feel the joy of Christmas since it's started in September.. and going to the malls in the market side Christmas decoration is everywhere and it's beautiful.. 😍😍❤️❤️ great video Mergin 👍👍
Hey Mergim, enjoying your videos mate. Stumbled across your channel the other week and I am now going through your older videos. I enjoy your storytelling, vibe and camera angles. A lot of effort goes into your video and it is much appreciated. As a Londoner myself it made me laugh in one video where you said a place looked 'booki'. Not sure if that was understood by many but that was so funny. Keep up the great work and I can only praise you for your grind of posting daily videos.
Oh what I notice about your vlogs is... besides you being a competent editor... you're pretty good storyteller. ✨👍 I don't know what you've learn on #rawtravelvloggers but... keep it up! ✨👍

Hey Mergim! I recommend checking out the Masskara festival in Bacolod. Its WILD! I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it, and Bacolod is known for its amazing food as well. It lasts the whole October but do go towards the finale - around the 21st to 23rd is best i think. 👍
Nice to spent Sunday riding a gondola in Venice mall hahaha but hey, it's Sunday chills is the best. You are really enjoying it. The girls maybe asking you about you accent and they kinda forget the word hehe
they dont look sad.. they are just shy.. and not so many filipinos are good with conversational english.. but we are good in written english though.. haha
Hi Mergim, I really enjoy watching your vlogs, and Im also a fan of pick up coffee especially their spanish latte 👌🏻 anyways I would to recommend you to try going to the East side of the Metro in Angono, Rizal which is known as the Art Capital of the Philippines. Its just one ride away from SM Megamall. 😊 They have this upcoming Higantes Festival there happening every November 23rd. Its worth seeing. 👍🏻
Hi Mergim! Ive been following your videos for a while and I was just wondering, since you have gotten a place in BGC now, if your girlfriend would be visiting anytime soon? Love the content, keep it up!
Hey Mergim, You have become a member of my top 3/5 vloggers. You remind me of Harald Baldur in my ways (I don't know if you have been told that before.). You can have the most random vlog title like "Going shopping for new boxers" and I'll start of thinking "Boy this one is going to be lame" But it doesn't fail, I always end up chuckling to myself and thinking "I'm glad I went along for the ride."
@@johnfrank9823 I definitely like Kulas (Becoming Filipino), His friend Kumandor Daot, Harold, and the last is probably Finn Snow. Though I have been watching a lot of Ken Abroad lately too.
@@toddl1226 Oh nice list, been following 'em too Kulas, Kumander Daot, and Finn but you might want to add Luke Damant, and Tal of The Traveling Clatt in your list. They are great too! 😁
@@johnfrank9823 Thanks. I'll Check out Luke. I used to watch the Traveling Clatt when he was in Siargao. I watched one of his a while back when he was his grand mothers in Israel. He just doesn't come up on my home page anymore. I'm married to a Filipina, so I love Philippines content.
I am a new subscriber Merghim. I love your contents. I am really excited to see your adventures in BGC and other parts of the Philippines. I am a Filipina nurse who emigrated to Chicago with my family. I am so happy that you chose BGC to be your home base for now. I love that place and might choose BGC as one of the places to explore when we go home in the Philippines for vacation. We just came from France and Italy and I can say Philippines is as interesting as these two countries. Good luck on your future endeavor. God bless.
You are one of those tourists who does not afraid to explore our Metro mMnila area. I hope you also visit the other tourist spots in Metro Manila while you're there. There're lot of places to visit. Also don't forget to visit the beautiful beaches!!!
Jollymolly good Merghim! A placido domingo! A pleasant sunday! We were there in Venice piazza saturday morning to aftrnn, then sunday aftrnoon to evening! Ahahaaa! We could have bumped into you but you obviously came early while we got ther late aftrnn, at 5 pm. Yes Italiani's got good pizza. Am happy to see you taking your "new" life at leasure, at ease, in stride with your unique personality. GOD BLESS YOU! Take good care of yourself & hope you meet more fun leisurely people.
It's nice that you didn't include in your shots the ramshackle houses around the Guadalupe Ferry station. That area is set for demolition because they will build transit oriented developments (aka skyscrapers) inasmuch as that area will be the main depot of the Makati Subway which is under construction. All that area which connects BGC & Makati is set for redevelopment. In effect, in about a decade, the 3 business districts of Makati, BGC & Ortigas will meet in the Guadalupe area. Ortigas developments already is nearing the Pasig with the Greenfield Complex. The Transit-oriented Developments (TOD) of Makati Subway will catalyze the merging of Makati, BGC & Ortigas
On the other side of the Pasig River, the Ortigas & Greenfield complexes have already merged & are practically beside the river except for some factory warehouses. On the other side of the Guadalupe Bridge opposite Rockwell, many projects have already been constructed, are under construction or soon to be constructed Yup, the downtown of Metro Manila will become one (described as "Manila Core" by certain planners) when Makati, BGC & Ortigas finally merge
Dinagyang is the renowned festival in the world....how can one miss watching it....include this in your bucket list, Mergim....in Iloilo city, the city of love...on the 3rd Sunday of January. See you there.
Your Joyride driver to Venice Grand Canal Mall said "Joyride lang ang malakas" which roughly translates to "Joyride is the strongest of them all" or "Joyride is the one to beat". "(Blank) lang ang malakas" literally means "the only one that's strong", it's a common colloquial phrase that alludes to something or someone's position as the leading power in something, it's like saying that they're the last man standing. Can't quite capture the meaning of it 'cause it can't be anchored into the English language 'cause I don't think there's a context in English that exactly mirrors its meaning but this is the closest I could translate it into English.
Salamat for the vlog…i was there visiting in July with my fiancée …enjoyed eating at that mall …simply beautiful but sorry the gondola was closed that day
Awesome 😎👍... Thank you for another great video 😊📸... I've been watching your vlogs for me to familiarize myself with the places you went. I'm an OFW and I haven't been back in the Philippines for quite some time now (10 years +)... I hope someday you'll visit Mindanao. Thank you ☺️ P.S. If you can also visit the Clark Free port area and Zabales for an adventure... 😎👍😊
All the best to your vlogs. I don’t know how you do it, but once I start watching, I finish till the end! Your authenticity as a person overflows man. :-)
Mergim, try to visit Philippine universities also let see what's your opinion about them for a change sometimes...Your video is entertaining! Keep it up!
I am a million times thankful to you for being in the Philippines! You are so different from that British/ Irish guy in Cebu living in his GF’s province house. When his tantrums attack, he is so negative and really critical of the country. Example, he hates the lines in supermarkets in Cebu. Petty but it really bothers him! He cannot fathom that the population of Vietnam is 98M and Thailand is 69M VERSUS the Philippines’ 110M.
nice vlog mergim! so awesome you’re a local celeb there now! doesn’t lucy and george live by those apartments beside that mall? so nice of those “instagram models” to let you ride the gondola with them😆 so funny they asked you what language you speak after you told them you’re from the UK haha stay safe brotha!!
Never been there although I visit my family in Manila and Cebu almost three times a year and staying three months at a time. Have been to Ilocos Norte in Luzon, and Zamboanga City in Mindanao.
That ain't happening soon because the water that is flowing from the Pasig River comes from the urban area of NCR. Maybe 30-40 years from now, it is possible if the government continued to clean it, remove all the informal setlers and fix the water waste system in NCR. But sometimes it becomes brownish in color because of the water that flows from the mountains after a strong rain.
Hey Mergim!U should check out Masskara Festival in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental then after U should also visit Dumaguete City it's a 5 hour drive from Bacolod City.Dumaguete is in Negros Oriental and on October 23 is the start of its beautiful "Buglasan Festival" first time in 2 years since pandemic Dumaguete is also dubbed as "The City of Gentle People" and also part of the "Top 10 best cities in the world to retire" according to Forbes Magazine! I assure you that you'll have a great time in Negros Island!
I told you... if you wanna save money for the decors on your condo, Divisoria is the place, and in Quiapo, there's a shop there that is similar to Dapitan, but way cheaper!
Mergim, you should go to Kalibo, Aklan around the 2nd-3rd week in January for the Ati-atihan festival, the mother of all festivals in the Philippines where the other festivals were copied from. After a week long celebration, then you can head on to Boracay afterwards. I think you’ll have a grand time there. The Visayan girls you were with must not have been exposed a lot to foreigners since they didn’t realize you speak English! I wonder if your accent sort of confused them because they’re used to hearing American accent. Either that or they never paid attention to their World History class like me. I used to think that anyone who spoke English was American, even in the movies. Only when we started living in the US did I notice all the different accents esp British vs American in general. It’s fascinating to me now. Lol.
Sorry, Mergim, I don’t have that app but you can google Ati-atihan festival easily and find out more about it. I’m trying to slowly disengage myself from social media as I prepare for retirement next year. I’m from Aklan originally but have been living in the US (stationed in Okinawa at the moment) for almost 50 years. If you want to go there, you need to start booking for your flight and hotel now cuz it’ll be gone fast as the festival approaches. I have a feeling they’ll really ramp it up this time since they really weren’t able to celebrate much during the pandemic. In fact, I just watched another video of their opening salvo yesterday and my cousin says it was for 3 days! Book for Boracay hotel at the same time because that will be full as well. Lots of foreigners attend the festival then spend the rest of their time in Boracay. I would go to the other copycat festivals in ’24 instead if I were you. I heard they’re just as enjoyable. You see, there were no other festival like ours when I left in ‘73 so I know nothing of them. Just a suggestion.
