I drove mine while I was always working on it but if I'd have to see it tore apart taken up space in my garage and not .this reminds me of what derick says at the end of some of his projects you got to work it to get it working.

Its funny because the donor truck will be in better condition than the project so the donor becomes the project then you realize you need another donor truck because you didnt realize they changed the bolt length of the starter in july when your project truck was made in february.

I have a dodge Magnum that is becoming hard to find parts for. Time to get a 2nd one from the junk yard just to have spare parts 🤣🤣

Bought a donor 2wd 97 Tahoe for my 72c10 . It is what it is . Me personally I like the 5.7 vortec with the spider injection.

I’m in that boat. I’m restoring an older 335i convertible. I would really like to find a donor. The car is 18 years old and still retains decent value. So finding a donor is tough.

I got a free donor C10 and rebuilt it and stripped the original project for the free one. Frame was near perfect👍

That’s called a poorly planned project. When acquiring a project one should inspect, remove. and list everything needed to complete project. IRL. For example I purchased a project Miller bobcat 250 welder 2 days ago. Inspection: The engine was locked up. Remove: The hour I took it home I removed the top end and discovered everything wrong. List: I ordered everything that was nasty rusty or broken new on Amazon prime. I started the engine today after doing a top end overhaul. I will complete it tomorrow. I’ve been working the past 2 days. This is after work work. I have 5 hours of labor in it so far. 2 more to go engine wise, the generator looks good and stator winding ohm reading checks out. I will have a functioning welder tomorrow night.

See, if I wanted I could find a fully running version of my car with no ac in meh condition for like 700 bucks, 200 not running lol BUT sadly most of the donor parts I need will come from any 2005 ss cobalts I can find online or in scrapyards and not the original lt parts since im building a sleeper with a 2009 lt since it has the lsj 2.2l ecotec. Engine even came stock with the mounting bracket for the eaton m62 roots style supercharger which is what im gonna put in it 😂
