If the German parliament were discussing it, Americans would just laugh. But can you imagine the uproar, if Russian parlament was discussing about destroying an American pipeline?
And discussing punishing and isolating not just the US politically but the American people, leveling a credible threat to prevent Americans from working, traveling, communicating, and doing business-we would go sanctimoniously ballistic, literally.

The crisis is somewhat mitigated by the fact that the sabotage "conveniently" occurred within a day of the new non-Russian pipeline being opened. Not to mention the U.S.'s willingness to sell gas to Europe.
@@hongry-lifewe as Germany are increasing trade with China anyway. It’s our biggest trading partner now and also we want to be a observer in brics+ but unofficial. The official minister of Germany actually SUPPORTS the destruction of the pipeline because their puppets.
Heres a suggestion why don’t you let Europe make their own decisions on LNG supplies, if the pipeline is shut off by Russia they can also figure that out. US politicians need to focus on America’s economy and needs.
By exporting more LNG to Europe. It means more $billions for the US economy (well the private wealth aspect). As far as certain individuals are concerned. This is no laughing matter. This is the choice between the US having additional leverage, along with many wealthy individuals significantly increasing their net worth.
@@b199er So maybe it's time for the sovereign in the US (my limited knowledge about Democracy tells me: the voters), to ask some questions. Why the elected representatives play wargames in the interest of some private industries. Why building up a massive army and sending them to war with Russia, while the sovereign has to be told why there's no budget left for health care, education etc.? Maybe the voter is not the sovereign, or never was. In that case maybe get a new name for this whole "democracy" thing.

The US overarching policy seems to be they can do what they want and basically destroy anyone who dares fight back. Generally doesn't end well for regimes of the past that tried that, and they all likely thought they were somehow different too.
Your foreign policy should not be to stop free market deals between other countries just to support your own oil companies. Russia put up billions of dollars to build their own pipeline it has agreements with the European countries for natural gas. United States government officials should not be a part of that

@@stan9011 Correction Europe has paid a terrible price for it! Gas prices will NEVER EVER be the same for Europe! Meanwhile Norway, USA, QATAR charge Europe outrageous exorbitant prices while Europe can no longer trade with Russia. Mind you, from an environmental perspective, natural gas via pipelines is extremely safe and good for environment. I don't think after this conflict with Ukraine (assuming a peace deal comes into play) Russia and Europe will ever have normal ties again! A shame!

This woman didn't get fired after likely overthrowing a democratically elected government in Ukraine/2014 but got a promotion to no. 3 at US State Department, if Blinken and his deputy were incapacitated Nuland would be Acting secretary of state to a president who doesn't know what day it is.
@@hongry-life It is eerie how she seems immune from congressional oversight, presumably they'd know more than we do, yet she gets a free pass. They are rightfully circling around Mayorkas etc. but Nuland just keeps getting higher and higher, soon she'll probably be Deputy Secretary, then Secretary then 4th in line to presidency.

They don't want a new pipeline while running a 50 year old one. I would think at some point sanity would kick in. I know old stuff was better. There comes a point things just have to get retired or die. The old pipeline is at that point. They know it. If it does fail it will further the oil and gas environmental impact Just not thinking put something new in its place and less likely to have that failure.

He talks about Russian aggression.....while the USA, my country, since 1964, has slaughter tens of millions all around the world. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and the list goes on and on. Imagine if these tax dollars were spent on something of value in the USA instead of lining the pockets of those involved with the Military/Industrial Complex.

There needs to be more safety into the water pollution possibilities. If something breaks, they must have a full plan and funding to pay for cleanup. We all know the sellers are going to try and get out of any cleanup costs and that should be halted and proven safe.
Along that road, all this ng drilling has me concerned.... We are just ignoring the methane, the real threat to us. We NEED cheap energy, but we need clean water more.
Germany would be in a better position if they ditched the US as allies. Trump had no right to comment on the commercial decisions of another sovereign nation even if the US wanted to steal the market.
@@andreab1144 No, he wasn't. Russia was a reliable partner, always was. Germany was in better hands buying their energy needs from Russia. It gave them the competitive edge. Now buying from the USA they pay 5 times more and are subject to US whims and demands. Trump was not right. But at least he would never have ordered the pipelines blown-up. I will give you that.
Trump armed Ukraine and imposed various sanctions, effectively preventing the NS 2 pipelines from being completed. If not for his actions, the pipelines would have been functioning before Joseph Robinette Biden won the Democratic Party's nomination. Let us also not forget that the United States were hysterical about the pipelines well before Trump ever became POTUS, see various outbursts in Congress, as well as Condi Rice's statement of 2015.
