I finally finished building this custom mountain bike!
It took sometime but this bike looks amazing and I'm stoked!
More build videos will be added as soon as I make them so please keep an eye on this playlist. I'm really enjoying putting this "Learn to build a bike" series together, and I hope you are too! Let's learn how to build a mtb! Bike maintenance is important to learn.

Thanks for your reply. I'm a 20+year buke patrol police officer in Laredo, Texas 17 of which a certified LEBA (law enforcement bike association bike mechanic). Been a cyclist most of my life and 20 year mountain biker. Love the sport and I get a kick out of watching people do what you did with your Iron Horse and be supper proud of it. As you now know I live in a border town next to Mexico and have many friends that cross over to USA. One of them which just had a serious accident where he may have lost his life has a pretty ancient Cannondale (1980s) road bike which came out unscathed from the crash. He loves his bike so much he entrusted me to work on it and I get a kick out of watching him freak when he takes off on it. It's his only means of transportation to and from Mexico and has taken a lot of beatings and it just keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny. Now watching your completed video for the first time and you having that "dam I've done it"! look on your face makes me just want to run into my little ole bedroom turned shop and work on my horses! Your inspiration only makes me take it one step beyond on my mechanic work and help others when in need. Kudos and keep up the good work. Have got lots of of questions for you in the upcoming future on ole-bike re-builds and having fun shredding em up!

Just a hint I've done over the years. I put a dab of grease on the seat rails where they are pinched by the seatpost clamp. It prevents a common creak.

richandiben good idea. I'll try that too. It seems like I'm always chasing squeaks. Carbon parts have just made it worse.

Thanks so much for sub'n! This is an old Iron Horse Sinister frame. The company is pretty much out of business as we know it now. They where known for the Sunday full suspension DH bike. Really happy with this build and glad others like the results!

I'm just waiting for 2 more parts and my custom 2013 giant trance x3 full suspension build will be completely finished just need my magnesium mag rims and black and gold rear cassette to come in..it has been a frame up build.. I understand the 13 trance frame is very rare..please give me some feed back.

This is a very old Iron Horse Sinister HT. The company doesn't make it anymore. In fact, the Iron Horse company of today is nothing like the one of the past.
