I Finally Got Covid | Omicron Day to Day Experience
Well after almost 2 and half years, I finally caught COVID. Travelling and catching this virus can be frustrating, difficult and costly. Kicking off the summer of 2022 in a hotel room was less than ideal but what was also frustrating was precious losing time with family/friends not being able to do work and create videos. I am finally back in Toronto after almost 2 weeks in hotel isolation in British Columbia. No medical science here, but ideas on remedies on how I got through Omicron. Join me as I struggle along on the road to recovery- Take your vitamins and wear a mask!

Who are you? 4:10 "if you catch "COVID..." Have you taken a shot? Do you recognize the shot as a variable? Why would you use this language? Do "asymptomatic" people exist or are we over that? How can you "HAVE" pneumonia and Not know? Covid is CORONA VIRUS ....KEY WORD.....DIS-EASE Without dis-ease how can you presume one has a "dis-ease? A lot of semantics

Literally got it for the first time in three years (thought I was invincible) last week. The fever by day 2 or 3 is BRUTAL. Seriously don’t get how some people say symptoms are pretty “mild” I’m literally living through the worst chills and sore throat right now 🤒

The symptoms are very individual. I had my first covid in Sept 2022. Very mild symptoms (even milder in comparison to other colds). Day 10. Negative. I feel well but still have not recovered completely. The tissue in my nasopharynx is kind of raw. It will take another week or two to feel like a healthy person. Covid is still a serious disease. Be careful and take good care of yourself.

I glad I'm not the only one who thought he was invincible hahaha, it caught up with me pretty badly this week. First 4 days were hell, today's day 5 and things are getting a little better. The worst part by far was the throbbing, debilitating headache the first two days, the swallowed razor blades dipped in lemon juice throat pain is a close contender.

Finally caught it a couple of days ago. Started by waking up with conjunctivitis, a lesser known covid symptom. Then the headache, fever, chills, ache. Streaming nose. Then 3 days in I've now got a tickly/chesty cough with mucus but headache, chills and fever have gone and I actually feel great. Test still came up within 20 seconds though. Yesterday, I woke up with one side of my head stopped completely up; and, worked today but my eyes feel funny! I swear, they're as pink as pink can get😂. In fact, I look High from it! Oh great! Just what I needed! 😅 Pink Eye, too!

The experience of having Covid can vary dramatically between person to person. I had it last week for 4 days. It was 4 days of non-stop coughing for both my wife and myself. She got some sinus headaches, I had a mild fever in the evening for 2 of the days. And then in the evening of the 4th day it just STOPPED abruptly, and we had no symptoms after that. It's day 8 for me and I still test positive, but that doesn't mean that the virus is viable. I feel good, no sign of Covid after the 4th day. And we were concerned because we are in our mid-60s, which can give a much worse experience. I'm actually thankful to have had it because now I know for sure that my body can handle it. It's can also be much worse for unvaccinated people.

I dodged covid up until Tuesday of this week. The fatigue, fever and brain fog have gone now (writing this on Saturday afternoon) but the THROAT pain is ridiculous! My tricks and tips are have oregano oil, cold storm and sambucol on hand. I can’t take buckleys or even NyQuil or DayQuil as it makes me puke so I take sambucol which is lovely along with losegenze. I don’t usually resort to cepacol as it has benzocaine which is risky for anyone that’s a vocalist like myself because it can make you think your throat is better so you talk more or try to sing. But the throat pain was so severe I had no choice and went on vocal rest. I’m on day 7 now. Day 5 and 6 were frigging brutal. I also have it in my chest but this throat pain feels like strep but it’s not. It’s covid. 😖I took Tylenol and to sleep robax platinum. But not everyone can take robax.

Thanks for the help, I had a runny nose for like 3 days on and off so i thought it was just my allergies, After i would say day 4 I got a random sore throat at night when talking to people in the house so i was like well that defiantly a symptom of covid so the next morning i tested and it came back almost instantly that i had covid, So now i was like i felt fine a while ago but now the systems are so much more worse. I began with a runny nose then that night i got loads of flem buildup and a mild soar throat, Today i'v had a hedache that wont leave me alone even after taking medication. The Soar throught is still present and feels kinda like their is a wood fire oven in the back of your throat burning away all the time, The Soar throught is managible by man this head ache is ruff defentily didnt exspect it to be like this even after medications have kicked in. I decided to take strepsisle for my cough and nose congestion, and basicly trying to ride out the storm. My father also has similar systems but apparently not as bad as me and hes 66 (im 28), Hes throguth is like razor plades he cant stomach foods and lost his apatie oh yea totally forgot a randomlly started getting ache's and pains all over my body so that is also not a fun time. Tonight i made a decent meal and hopefully it will boost my immune system for 7-10 more days.

I tested positive for the first time 8/14/22 as well. The body aches, headache and fatigue lasted that day and half of the next. Some minor chills too, fever got up to 101 for like 30 min but Tylenol Severe Cold and Flu helped with that. Day 2 and on symptoms started to ease off. Only a slight cough and that sore throat was pretty annoying. Day 4 nasal congestion started in. Tested negative for the first time this morning day 11. It’s the Wild Wild West here in Ontario. We don’t have to test ourselves out of isolation. So we can go out like calves released from a stall after Day 5 (CDC attests ~ contagion be damned. I was still powerfully positive on Day 6!) And half of them aren’t wearing masks when they do. I have to dodge sick people and phlegmy UNMASKED coughers on the subway ~ who don’t even like pre-Covid days try to attempt to cover their mouths ~ like the plague it is. 😫😤😡🤯😱 When I see anyone here wearing surgical masks (as about 90% of us ~ not me ~ are maskless in public indoor settings like stores, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc.) then it’s most likely they’re covering symptoms of possible Covid as true mask wearers tend to wear better masks. Lol! With them I try to dodge also as in my grocery store checkout clerk handling my produce upon checkout. She never wore a mask and one day she was wearing a surgical mask so I asked her why. She proceeded to tell me she was having allergy type symptoms and she doesn’t get allergies with a very runny nose and watery eyes symptoms which I knew then was the new symptoms of Omicron 5. 🫣😳😂 I was like, back away slowly, gurl! BACK AWAY! ~ lol!~ she ain’t gonna be touching my groceries for sure!! I can’t afford to get Covid again (Moderna double vaxxed with booster ~ got Om1 past Feb), literally can’t afford the days off (and I will isolate until I test negative which took me 13 days the last time as I have a conscience), also, it flared my Chronic Pericarditis and left me with a permanent hoarse squeaky voice. I’m concerned if I get it again it will take out my voice altogether. And I need my voice for work. So if I can stave it off as long as possible all the better. Very hard in Ontario to do that though. Do REST REST REST with Covid (Covid loves to wax and wane especially with doing too much or thinking you can do. But don’t. Just rest or you exacerbate symptoms) and rest post Covid for some weeks and NOT go back to full workouts for some weeks after. Take that real slow as not to push the virus to your heart and give yourself myocarditis or pericarditis.

I experienced the symptoms before the world went mad , this was Feb/ March 2020, my sister was very ill Christmas 2019 & took a few month to recover. In fact loads of other people I know were very ill around that time late 2019 early 2020 so there was definitely some sort of bad flu going around before the lockdowns came into effect, I think by time that happened it was already 2 late. There are some very big question that need 2 b asked. S Korea Singapore Taiwan & Hong Kong initially didn't go into lockdown, & prevented outbreaks by implementing standard procedures before the situation got out of hand. So why wasn't the procedures that were implemented during the SARS, MERS, and H1N1 pandemics not implemented during this pandemics the lockdowns had devastating effects on 3rd world states & developing nations, some attribute the famines in West Africa to the lockdowns. Tanzania president John Magufuli was opposed to them for that reason. There needs to be an investigation into this. Lockdowns should never have happened, the outbreaks should have been prevented before the situation got out of hand.

Tested positive on the 14th. First time. And I've really tried to avoid it. But it's hard when you work with the public and half of them are coughing and 95 percent are unmasked (including most of the coughers). The paxlovid really seemed to help. I'm fine now, just get tired a little more easily.

I had delta at the end if december and almost died i wasnt vaccinated but i was on 3ml of oxygen and coughing up blood and a horrible sore throat had a 104.6 fever and then got pnemonia and blood clots in my lungs i thoughf i was going to die i lost 15 pounds and i had a hard time walking. But it took almost a month for me to get out of the hospital and it took me about 3 to 4 months for my blood clots to go away and to feel 100%. But today as the present i feel back to normal and no long covid and i survived covid and my doctor told me that i have 97% natural immunity from covid because of how severe i had it. I realized as we were transiting YVR, the cities hospitality and transportation infrastructure had been hammered. As BC residents were characteristically polite and open about their experience they reported harrowing accounts. One guy who was super fit reported his delta experience after already having the first wave, put him in bed 11 days. Yeee Haaa! Thanks I only want to add low dose aspirin as Covid 19 is a disease of the endothelium which puts especially older people with chronic health problems at risk for thromboembolism. I took baby ASA 81mg twice a day. I pounded vitamin D3 K2 and Chinese herbs for the HORRID sinus congestion this beast causes! As a nurse for nurse more than 3 decades I DID bring several bottles of antibiotics for possible common stuff while traveling (URI, UTI etc) and my ventolin inhaker I never use unless I get a URI. I had brought a dozen antigen tests. Good tip to swab oral & nasal locations for better efficacy. It took 2 days for the test to show positive

Not trying to be insensitive since there wasn’t a better alternative, but does make me wonder about how safe are these hotels if they host Covid patients. Unless I misunderstood the story. I will bet anything that the basic cleaning and disinfection will be way below required level after the patient checks out. This is one of the reasons I refuse to travel where a hotel stay might be warranted.

I don't think I've had COVID so far. I've been sick with what semes to be the flu ad I had 70% of those symptoms minus the loss of taste and smell, that only lasted maybe 2 days max around Christmas. I did the antigen test 3x all negative results. I literally took almost no meds as I normally do...or don't, which ever way you look at it. I did consume mainly easy to digest foods so its easy on the stomach. My vitamins were sourced from fruits and vegetable at the time...I normally don't pop pills of those as all I have at home are Omega3 pills. Most of my energy came from starches rather then sugars like the rice in congee, I find congee works a little better then soups.

The only way to tell if you had either covid or influenza is by genome sequencing.BA.4 and 5 have the same transmission rate as influenza but, because mutations generally affect transmissibility-you could've had either or both. You appear to be a healthy person from a western society with no underlying health conditions. Still,it would be foolish to solely rely on complementary alternative medicine's.
