the holy trinity of commentary youtubers and none of them are mentally stable. i’m like 75% sure that kurtis, danny and drew have all talked about social anxiety, especially drew 😭
@@wasteland.baby. Drew has talked abt his mental health a lot. Not sure about Danny n Kurtis though, all I know is they've talked about being shy or introverted but thats it
Take a moment to appreciate Danny's hair. I too have gray hairs (probably because working customer service aged my soul all the way to geriatric), and watching an influencer rocking that fab mane is quite nice.
He's finally gotten popular. This is the only time he was popular, he had never been at, say 4-5 million subscribers. I'm so happy this underground artist has made it.
is it just me who loves when they make a joke in the beginning of the video and then reuse it throughout the video? like the 4'11 girl joke was used so many times and it was so funny every time 😭
"finally". I love how Danny constantly forgets that he already had at least two viral tik tok sounds, the We Are not the Same Person song and the little cactus joke
@@felipeveloso1578 to be fair, the cactus one was just people lipsyncing without adding anything to the joke. The Kurtis one people add to and make new memes with. Idk why he doesn’t count the We’re not the Same person, maybe since that was before he really engaged with the app much
about the old hag: in swedish folklore there's the mara, a female spirit that sits on people's chests and rides them as they dream(like, rides on their chest, not in a sexual way) making it difficult to breathe this creates nightmares and even gives us the swedish word "mardröm" which used to just mean the kind of dream where you wake up unable to breathe because of a perceived weight on your chest. in later years, it just started meaning "nightmare"
Danny's little crisis over the offhand soundbite of him going viral when he' d previously put in so much work and effort trying to do just that in the past reminds me of artists online who put a ton of work and time into drawings and digital paintings that only get a bit of attention, and then have little doodles or short comics go viral. It's a funny (if often frustrating) phenomenon that I personally think has to do with relatability and the appreciation of simplicity due to its inherent charm.
Oof I felt this too hard as a struggling artist. Before I started posting my art and animations, I had a facebook page for my cosplays. Nowhere near professional, but I'd still say I had a few good pics in there. The page never got any traction though, but my most popular post by far, was 2 low quality pics of me and my twin doing derpy faces in zombie makeup.
i remember seeing the person who posted the sound comment on the tiktok kurtis made using it, they were so happy. imagine how they must feel now that kurtis and danny now made an actual video about it.
Repent to Jesus Christ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV J
Hat man is apparently a very, VERY common sleep paralysis demon and sleep deprivation hallucination, but I struggled with sleep paralysis for a while, and I've been sleep deprived for the past 6 months and I've never seen it, although that's anecdotal counter evidence at best
Can we talk about the fact that now there’s another viral Kurtis Conner sound on TikTok that’s like I was wondering how someone like this could exist, and then I found out she’s from Manitoba. Love that for him.😂
It's so funny how cartoon characters like Peter Griffin and Chris McLean have much larger lists of crimes on the villains wiki than Hat man who's an actively evil entity
Honestly this video was so enjoyable to watch. I'd kove to see more of you and Kurtis just hanging out and talking about silly things you find online. Also, I remember seeing (your guys' version) of that tiktok, I had no idea that was the story behind the sound!
the person who posted the original clip on tiktok comments on almost every video on the sound w/ you guys and seems so sweet. they were so excited about the clip blowing up, i can’t wait for them to see this video
I thought it was just me! I'm literally in an airport rn trying not to get arrested because I keep laughing randomly I can't hold it in they're so great 😂
As a teacher, I feel the need to point out that when we’re on students’ google docs while they’re working, it’s during class and we’re just making sure they’re on-task. We’re not just sitting at home, bored, before deciding to eavesdrop on students lol
A lot of schools use the google classroom suite of tools, which includes google doc. It’s inexpensive compared to other platforms and since most students use Gmail for personal email it is easy to understand.
bro they used to do that to us but now they just use goguardian 💀 shit's scary when all of a sudden they close your tab and announce to the class that "we shouldn't be on any other websites"
I wanna remind everyone who’s watching this video while eating to have caution. You never know when you might start laughing so hard you choke on your chicken.
7:09 just for context on this, people with paranoia, schizophrenia, or sleep paralysis can experience an onset of symptoms due to seeing things that their brain perceives as similar to things they experience during episodes. it's not a trigger warning, but a content warning, because it's letting people know it has that type of content, and not because it's a triggering subject.
@@chandlerlannan4729 don’t remember asking. please stop reinforcing the belief of “mentally ill people shouldn’t use the internet” because it’s so gross, and i’m sick of it. it’s a content warning. it’s the same reason people put gore warnings. it has nothing to do with triggering material, but rather the content that may be discussed.

Danny subtly always being the most creative and ingenious editor. He literally is so amazing at editing. Constantly proving himself behind the scenes too! Love to see it.
Yeah it's actually crazy, people across the world often have similar recurring visions when experiencing sleep paralysis. The most common things people see are the Hat Man and the Old Hag. People from completely different sides of the world throughout history report seeing the same things. Wild
It's so fascinating! I saw the "old hag" once & when I saw the painting on Google, I was shook. How did I see the exact same thing as someone else? Psychology is wild!
Fun Fact: The small hag on the chest of the sleeping people is a Mare. It's a folklore and it brings nightmares and sometimes even kills its victims while they are sleeping. It has many different forms/variations and names like the by Danny mentioned hag. And it is probably the word origin for Nightmare = Night + mare. Alp is another name for the mare. The German word for Nightmare is Alptraum. Alp + dream = Alptraum
The Night Hag is a super interesting phenomenon. It's actually the etymology of the term "nightmare". "Nightmare" originally referred to sleep paralysis hallucinations of this mythological figure specifically. The original meaning of "mare" is "to crush" referring to the common feeling of being crushed and unable to move or breathe during these experiences.
Also worth noting that Mare as a term for demon is drawn from Old Norse, while Mare as a term for horses is from a Celtic word. So it's a coincidence caused by the mixed roots of English. But then D&D made a pun that a Nightmare was an evil horse and now that's part of modern fantasy lexicon.
kurtis releasing a video in which he spends a good deal of time dunking on pottery with text and then immediately showing up in danny's video with a 'cozy vibes' mug is art, actually.
Little info on "shadow figures" and "hat man." So shadow people are a widely common phenomenon to see. They're exactly what they sound like, shadow people. The hat man is one of the most recognizable. They typically appear during sleep paralysis and such. I know this cause I'm schizophrenic and have other psychotic problems and so I often hallucinate him or have delusions. I've seen my own "shadow man" since I was about 12/13. And the content warning was because seeing them can trigger fear reactions, delusions/hallucinations, paranoia. Me being the way I am, I do have to be careful myself about it and actually have to be sort of on guard when it comes to scary imagery such as the video that "dolphin man" was originally from on your main channel. Even if I know it's not real, it can't exactly be prevented so the best way is to be careful. The hat man is the most infamous shadow person and is common amongst sleep paralysis as well and is said to have a threatening aura more than other shadow people. But basically they just appear to people with more psychotic disorders, psychosis, sleep paralysis, stuff like that. Not all my delusions/hallucinations are scary, but shadow man was one for a long time. Big reason I barely slept when I was 16 when my mental health was at its worse. Just wanted to explain a little bit. Many people also believe it's a supernatural phenomenon and shadow people are real. I'm a practicing witch, but I'm not here to get into that and the validity of shadow people being here. I just wanted to share about the shadow people when it comes to mental disorders especially since I've experienced it myself a lot. :) Edit: Calling them reoccurring characters is perfect 😂 I'll have to use that for some of my hallucinations. I give em names after all already.
@@baristheperson4255 im schizophrenic, and sometimes when seeing shadow figures, i start seeing them myself. its not that im necessarily scared of them, i just dont wanna deal with it sometimes.
6:28 I actually had an English teacher who woke up at 2 am and couldn't think of anything else except if we had submitted our assignments so she went to check. I had just submitted it at 2 am and went to bed.
once my friend was talking about his sleep paralysis but was referring to it like "you know when you" and I told him "no man, I've never had sleep paralysis personally" and he legit got angry like "everyone has sleep paralysis wtf" and I had to explain that only some people get it, I just don't get it, never happened lol probably because I can't even achieve real deep sleep most of the time. The closest thing I've ever experienced to "sleep paralysis" wasn't scary and just left me slightly confused. I woke up, waited a minute with my eyes closed, and I felt "hands" crawling over my chest, like if you could imagine a small child climbing into your bed, but for some reason they decided to crawl right over your ribcage. My first thought was "huh, my little brother must be scared and came to sleep in my room again", but then I remembered I'm 31 and my little brother is 27 and twice my size, so who tf's tiny little child hands are on my chest? I opened my eyes and all I saw was my ceiling but I still felt the shape of hands on me. I wasn't parelyzed but I tried to say "stop" or something and it came out like more of a groan since I just woke up, and I sat up, and the feeling left. It was weird but that's all, but nothing has ever kept me frozen in my bed when I wake up, I'm usually ready to immediately get up even if I'm tired and wish I could sleep in.
I've had sleep paralysis, like, twice. One of the times was just me staring at the ceiling and trying to move my limbs. There was no shadow figures. No hat man or old hag. Just me, my ceiling, and my inability to move. The other time I was laying on my side instead of my back and was looking at myself in my full-length mirror. Nothing creepy happened. Same thing as before expect this time I could see myself.
That’s honestly pretty funny that he assumed everyone gets sleep paralysis. I get it sometimes (don’t see figures most of the time tho, I did once think my roommate walked into my room and just kinda paced around and left but that wasn’t real lmao) I was surprised when I found out when I was young that other people get it too. Only happens for me when I sleep over 8 hours and I’m usually sleeping on my back but not always
My friend has BPD and had visual hallucinations of a man in a long black coat and with a black hat on twice. She actually said that he’s one the most common full visual hallucination for people with BPD, for some reason
As someone who has had multiple sleep paralysis episodes, can confirm the shadow people thing is real, and I've sheen a shadow man more than once. He's never had a hat on though. And Benadryl makes it more likely that you'll have a sleep paralysis episode, learned that the hard way...
@@communaltrials2613 you don't get to react, you just wake up already terrified. So seeing that image just makes it worse. I remember just seeing terrifying images in general, not a recurring one that people mention here
8:03 I used to take a bunch of Benadryl to see hat man then I stopped bc I ended up crying on the bathroom floor trying to not throw up and I didn't want my bf to breakup with me
