You say "It's not a thing" about 9 months, but what IS a thing is 21 weeks or what is commonly accepted as the age of viability outside the womb. But why is that the magic number? Does the "person fairy" comes and sprinkle "person dust" on a foetus and magically transform the clump of cells into a person at that stage? Or is it later or is it sooner? That's all Kennedy was trying to do is ask what restrictions, if any, they would put on abortions. The fact that they stayed silent means they basically said, "Anything goes and if a pregnant woman asked to abort a 9 month old baby she would be within her rights." That tells me they absolutely want to leave the option open... even if it's not common. Only persons have legal rights and protections. So we must decided when and how a clump of cells/foetus changes from not being a person into being a person. The fact that Pro-Abortion rights people never want to discuss that and instead hide behind "abortion as healthcare" is what destroys their credibility.

Give the child the benefit of the doubt where you can. In any case. the 12 week rule is only marginally different from the ancient notion of the Quickening. That the unborn becomes babies when they first move in the womb. So much for science, which first observed the fusion of sperm and egg in 1842. The Texas Law was enacted in 1856 at the insistence of Texas Doctors aware of the discovery.

You know as well as I do that the reason why we end up with multiple embryos is that people often fertilize 6-7 eggs at a time due to the cost of redoing the procedure from scratch if the first implant doesn't succeed. So the solution would be to try a single fertilization, and if that fails and you cannot afford to try again, then you realize that the treatment did not work and you adopt. So yes, we do want the babies to be born, all of them. We just ask people not to create and discard children. IVF is simply a technology: it's not a God-given right. You try it, and if it fails, you try something else unless you can afford to try it again. There is no hypocrisy in our beliefs, as you imply.

(Note: Actually, the IVF procedure produces frozen fertilized eggs, not embryos, and these eggs don't develop into embryos until after they have implanted themselves into the uterine lining.) As you likely also know then, people undergoing IVF most often only attempt to implant one such egg at a time, and if that doesn't take (i.e., the egg implants itself in the woman's uterus) they try again with the next frozen egg, and so on and so forth until they succeed. So let's say the couple freezes 6 eggs and the woman becomes pregnant on the second attempt, meaning there are now 4 tiny little human being frozen in limbo that will never be born. How sad of a pathetic existence they are doomed to! I know. Let's save them by forcing the woman whose fertilized eggs are frozen to then be implanted with those eggs so those tiny little people inside of her just waiting to get out can be born! After all, it is her moral responsibility to do so, right?!

In a case of mother's life is in danger and abortion is her only hope then by all means it needs to be done. If being used as birth control it's murder, in my opinion. Until science can successfully transplant a viable uterus into a trans....male, only women can give birth. we are not CIS, by their definition, woman/women is the appropriate identifier.

This is absolutely sick. I live in Denmark where abortions are legal and free. BUT! The law says it has to be done within 12 weeks since the conception. A day after and it becomes illegal and you will be prosecuted. I remind you, Denmark is one of the most progressive countries in the world and still there are rules for this. Saying that it's okay to kill almost a fully grown child because mommy is not in a mood is beyond belief!
