@@stuntpeggnieve Two things i took from that: 1. You're becoming a legend all across Europe, and 2. All Norwegian 10 year olds can speak fluent English!
Here's the thing: In Norway, football is a summer sport. During the winter, English football has been shown every Saturday starting in the 60s and the quality of the games from England was far higher than the local football. This means that just about every English team has a supporter club in Norway.
@@stuntpeggnieve There are many well-known and "important" football stories around the world. But in an age of hyper-commercialism and clubs as sanitized "global brands", accounts of these "authentic" local clubs/fan experiences should be spread far and wide and cherished. Well done, Nieve. 👏
@@Bamboodonutz I'm so happy people have started to notice that going to your local team can be more fun than watching your English or Spanish team on the telly. I'm an avid Arsenal fan, but I will 100% go to Brann Stadion or a Brann away game if their games are on at the same time. And it seems like more and more people are following.
I'd be interested in knowing the situation at RBK. Your club built up a reputation for upsetting Europe's giants at Lerkandal in the CL, and even away, such as at the San Siro. You're a pale shadow of that team now.
@@jeffrey5976for a second time we've royally fcked our finances due to missing out on europe for too long. High pressure, poor results and poor recruitment over time has screwed us over.
I’m really proud of how much I’ve sorted out my confidence this year. Still need to work on my self-belief at times (but don’t we all) I really appreciate this lovely comment, thank you!
@@stuntpeggnievelong time follower and want to just say your videos have been absolutely fantastic. I love the musical references to places you go, you bring your humour into every video and you really get to the heart of each community/club you visit. Its unique. Its you. And its fantastic journalism. Thank you for your effort 🙏🏻
Great stuff! Don't think it went unnoticed that you bothered to pull out an actual Frida vocal in a world of Agnetha parts. Football and Abba are the winners, ALWAYS. #details.💯
The passion the Norwegian fans show is amazing! Also love the respect the players show back to the fans and spend time at the end of the game to show appreciation for those fans! Think more clubs should be following suit with regards to this 👏🏻👏🏻
Totally not trying to make you a born-again Tromsø-fan, but really think you should do a double feature in Norway and catch Tromsø's away game against Vålerenga. Either Tromsø secure a place in europe for the first time in 10 years, or Vålerenga, one of the traditional big clubs in Norway gets relegated for the first time in over 20 years. Either way it would make for some great content!
Thanks for talking, I won't miss this game I don't know much about the Norwegian League, but the importance of this game deserves the attention of every football fan
I'm all for clubs who allow the responsible use of pyro! 🎉 Shout out to the little legends in tye stand and to the player for A) interrupting the interview to celebrate with the fans and B) coming back to retake after the full memory thing. Class all round 👏🏻
I am British but grew up in a small village midway between Bodø and Tromsø from the age of 4 to 21 and Bodø/Glimt is my favourite team and Tromsø is my favourite town. Great video by the way.
As someone who really hates modern football and has no interest in the top of the Premier League etc these videos are so refreshing. Keep up the amazing work!
This video has a range of emotion! Have to love the level of sincerity this situation and club have from the players to the fans. You can almost feel the human spirit being mutually appreciated, beautiful.
As a Chelsea fan of 25-odd years it’s really great to see Tromso thriving as a club. Would be wonderful to meet in European competition again one day. Great video Ms Pegg 😁
As a Liverpool fan, living on the southernmost tip of Norway, I really enjoyed this video. This is the first time I watched one of your films and I´ll certainly watch more from now on. Thanks.
That Jersey is so damn nice, might have to try buy one online, as a Shelbourne fan in Ireland, I can relate to Tromso's situation we recently qualified for Europe for the first time in over 12 years
Fun fact about that shirt: That shirt is a shirt drawn by a kid who won a competition for drawing a kit that would represent Tromso best. It was only supposed to be used for this match sadly, but it’s very nice, I agree! Edit: I read another comment saying it’s supposed to be the 3rd kit for next year. Not sure whether it’s true or not, but I’d love that as a Tromso supporter!
So nice to see you keep returning to Norway. Even when it’s cold like now. Tromsø can secure a silver medal on Sunday and at the same time send Vålerenga down to OBOS ligaen. I hope they will
Haha. Such a fantastic video! That cable car bit was every bit as funny as the running knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Seriously: I live in the Silicon Valley (in Northern California) and visit Lake Tahoe quite often. I take the gondola up "Heavenly" -- the ski resort high in the Sierra above South Lake Tahoe. Those cars travel so much faster up the mountain that whatever you were riding. I have to give credit to those Norwegian fans. I've camped in tents in freezing conditions in the Sierra Nevada and Cascades. I've traversed a high elevation glacier. I've experienced extreme cold during blizzards in New England. Yet, the coldest that I have ever felt was while attending an American football game on Christmas night in Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to the game, I had to clear the ice and snow from the seat. I bought hot chocolate only for it to be cold by the time I arrived back to my seat. The hand warmers that I purchased just didn't seem to work. It was miserably cold! Yet, those Norwegian fans likely experience this far more often. They have earned their respect! Again: Great video! Keep them coming!
A great video of two halves, from the beginning in the peace and tranquility of being surrounded by the snow to the absolute madness of the Tromso stadium and it's fans. It's impossible not to love Nieve and her football videos, such a brilliant perspective, fine mix of football, looking at the local areas and not forgetting some quality choices of music too!
Norway is such a beautiful country... I just see the amount of snow and cold they have to endure... crazy!!! 🥶🥶🥶 Looks like you had a lovely time there, even with those conditions. Great video as always!!!
@@xxMyNaMeIsBeAsTxx I truly believe you. Norway must be so magical. Aas we have no snow in Mexico, I can't imagine those low temperatures!! Kind regards and thanks for the reply!!!
The gulf stream actually makes coastal Norway's temperatures significantly milder than they would normally be that close to the North Pole. Tromsø is 100km inside the Arctic Circle, and any town at that latitude in Canada or Russia would have winter temperatures of -35° or something, while in Tromsø it'd be -10°. Tromsø is a fantastic city though; I've been there once (during the polar night, so the sun didn't get above the horizon once while I was there) and it's genuinely one of the most simply great holidays I've ever had.
Look up how cold the CONCACAF matches were in 2022 qualifying. Central American teams will have to train in -10 to -15 if the expect to be able to make 2030 cup because Canada & US will put games in the coldest locations to literally freeze the competition
In Tromso after travelling on the P&O cruise liner Arcadia 28/11/23, and can say Tromso is one amazing place, views from the cable car summit stunning after walking over the bridge. -4 to -12 in late November a bit of a challenge, but well worth it & will remember this place forever.
Wow…in my hometown Tromsø. Thank you so much..I think I must move back. Our footballteam is currently one of the best teams in Norway. And damn you impressed when walking around like that in our cold conditions. Even up there on the mountain Fløya, just walking around on the cold cold snow… looking from the outside - i grew up near the stadion - i can see that Tromsø actually is so beautiful ❤️🇳🇴
Thanks for another great video. I always love watching your trips to Norway, and it's nice to see that you're getting some well deserved recognition from fans here as well. I still hope that you'll consider taking the trip to Fredrikstad next year when we face off against our rivals from Sarpsborg. Cheers.
I've been up that cable car in Tromso and the views are spectacular. Not been to the ground though, although I well remember that Chelsea game. Another great video, thanks.
I only just discovered this and you are just brilliant. The editing, the little jokes, this is bloody enjoyable all. And it's freezing temperatures, my favourite.
Romssa Arena, the most beautiful Sami name on a stadium anywhere in the world. Not everybody will agree with me, but the Sami people feel a bit more included after the namechange. Proud of Tromsø IL for putting "internal" racism on the map, they are doing something that is VERY risky and unpopular amongst a certain demographic of Norwegians. AND they are playing in the Sami colors ❤💚💛💙 , what a beautiful sight to see. Now wait for it....
I'm a fairly new subscriber and I'm from Wrexham and have been watching you ever since i found your video on them! Have to say, absolutely love your vlogs! Both super informative and very entertaining! Keep it up and wish you all the best!! ❤️
AWESOME!!! love your channel. You have such passion for the game and great insites, behind the scenes, and interviews with fans and players! Keep up the great work. Hope to see you when I'm in Manchester this spring!!
As a Norwegian who lives in Oslo, this video was a joy to watch. And you are one of the coolest sports presenters I have seen. You made me laugh on more than one occasion. New subscriber!
Superb footage and insight Nieve. Said it many times, you are totally unique and unrivalled when it comes to covering either well known parts of Europe or less known parts of Northern Europe. TNT or Sky missing a trick not having you on their books.
TNT and Sky UK have tons of women's football. TNT sport UK have A-League Women from Australia and Frauen Bundesliga from Germany. TSN Canada have Canadian women national team. Sky UK mainly cover Women Super League and BBC for The FA WSL cup final
I have commented before on the pure natural ability you utilise in making your videos. You have serious talent which makes me look forward to your videos above ALL of my other subscriptions. Keep up the fantastic work, keep your humour and empathy. Best wishes. A non-football fan living in Panama
Tromso's opposition Haugersund were once beaten 6-0 in the European Cup Winners Cup by Welsh giants Newport County , I believe John Aldridge (later more famous as a Liverpool striker) was amongst the goal scorers for Newport
😊 You're confidence is really shining through into great content at the minute. Hope to see more recognition for different "smaller" leagues in the near future
Epic Tromso! They've recently qualified for the 2024-25 UEFA Conference League after finishing 3rd in the Eliteserien. If Tromso and my beloved Real Betis ever face each other, I will definitely pay a visit to Tromso :)
I was meant to visit Tromso as part of a cruise but there was a last minute change of plan and we didn't get to stop there. Was gutted! Love the Norway content - beautiful country!
If you want to or intend to go to Norway sometime, buy currency now. It's the safest investment you'll ever make. It's extremely cheap, meaning the whole country is about 35% rebate from Euro or USD.
Absolutely Brilliant StuntPegg ! Norway is cold and Tromso coldest ! I worked there in the Oilfield. Following you Girl ! Something new and very different = Excellent !
Nice video. A bit disappointing that you didn’t film the fanclub even once. Keep up the great videos, and hopefully Tromsø will rule Europe next season
I have to say I've only just now discovered your channel and I think it's awesome!! Waaaaaay better than all the other football content creators out there in my opinion anyways 😁 Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
as someone from india, where football is extremely underdeveloped, your videos are a literal dream. small towns with footballers stadium workers kids all friends. it is what heaven is like to me. also your camera work is extremely underrated. it really captures the mood.
