Mate awsome video I been in and out of recovery since 2000 and your breakdown of the buisness for a new owner was spot on .. It's always been a grey area but you outlined it perfectly . Mrs P was sitting next to me quoting all your facts it made me chuckle. Also Google most definitely the best thing em ever did for our business I think we are number 1 in our area and the work that comes in from it is amazing . Loved the flight so wish I could live life over and do pilots licence but with a big family it's tight these days so I'm going to treat me and em to a boat and get a pilots licence for that instead as more in my price range .it's not in the air where I would rather be but being able to travel is the reward us recovery rescue owners and drivers need for all the hours we do . So Ben thanks for putting fire under me seat and making me feel like living again and treat our selves for all the care we give to others . Of all the places to get a "You can't park there mate" PMSL. Respect to you having a licence and being able to fly. My first flight in a plain ever was a small plane from White Waltham airfield to Isle of White. I had never been in any plane ever before that and so loved it.

I’m literally about to start my journey to setting up my own business in to transporting vehicles and after this video it’s really out me off. I didn’t realise the insurance was so much, the goods in transit, operators license and so on - back to the drawing board. Thanks for the insight.

I’m a Class 1 have driver and would love to get into the world of recovery at some stage. I’ve watched all of your vids so far and this channel is without a shadow of doubt my favourite. Like all of your vids, this has been interesting and engaging, and it’s good to now know (without the social media experts fighting over what’s right/wrong regarding all the info you gave, as let’s face it, when has social media ever been wrong 😂😂) all of what you need to do/don’t do and the difference etc. I might do the RVA courses to keep my DQC up to date too and learn new skills etc should I ever venture into the world of recovery. Massive shout out to you for all your hard work with these vids too 🍻🍻🍻

Hi Ben. Really enjoy your videos. I've been watching since I stumble on the first one a couple of weeks ago. I'm recovering from surgery and it's helped massively get through some long painful nights. Having seen some channels with tens of thousand subscribers and the tosh they produce I think it's only a matter of time before yours really takes off. The content is good, the energy is brilliant. I also like that it's natural and I'm certainly not bother by some of the spicy language. I share a lot of interests and i love your sense of humour. Sorry but I laughed way too long and loud at the fart noise you edited into one of your videos. You talk a lot of sense amongst the daft gibberish and waffle but it all makes for a bit of a chuckle. One thing in this video I'm curious about is that I'm an HGV driver and I've never had to do an exam for my DCPC card. It's an attendance only course and as long as you attend, you pass. I've also got my Transport Managers CPC and that sounds much more like what you described on this video. If there had been an exam at the end of my 35 hours most of the divs would still be sat there trying to spell Scania V8. Anyway, I'm up to date with your content now so I'll be making sure I keep up to date every week. Good job mate.

Great video well jealous. 1 grey area with recovery/flatbed trucks is a private use truck. A total minefield even most VOSA people ain't got a clue. And most of your viewers will be 1 man bands working on there own vehicles. And fancy earning money on the weekend or something. I know my rule is I can't have other than my own vehicles on my lorry. And will need to provide information if necessary. It's a very grey area but not much information about it. Enjoy your holiday mate. 👍👍

Mate what a cracking video definitely worth upsetting the missus by ignoring her to watch start to finish lol one thing probably worth mentioning would be the mot exemption for recovery not being a thing since 2019 as i see loads of trucks for sale saying mot exempt wich isnt true and could catch someone out lookong to get into the game

Cheers man, very informative. Quick one on just vehicle transport if I may! Would i need a tacho using a large suv with a trailer solely for vehicle transport? Gov website kinda says yes, other sources kinda say no its all a bit ambiguous 😅

Really helpful advice, would goods in transit then cover the vehicle on the back, if the motor trade policy doesn’t cover the vehicle?

Just a point I've picked up from your latest excellent video is you said you had to pass a test for your drivers CPC Card, this I do not understand as I have been an LGV driver for many years until recently and have not had to take a test for this just sit through 35hrs of training over a five year period. Has something changed since my last lot of training.

Regarding the grand father rights on driving licences , if you were born before 1980 and passed your test before 1997 you have a C1+E entitlement. Thus allowing you to drive a 7.5 tonne with a 4.5 tonne trailer . After 1997 you are only allowed a maximum of 3.5 tonne and a 750kg trailer .
