In this video I continue my descent down the Jefferson Chimney here at Cerro Gordo. The adventure took hundreds of feet of rope and multiple days. It didn't go exactly as I hoped, but in the end, I found something I've been looking for for a very long time!
Thank you all so much for the support over the past 18 months. If you haven't already, I hope you'll subscribe to the channel. Lots more mine explorations, building renovations, and historical walks in the near future!

I have to say, my one recurring concern when you make vids going into the mines is that you don't seem to use respirators. Given the lead content of much of the surrounding minerals and dust, I think it would go a long way towards protecting yourself and your team.

The Saber-tooth Tigers I helped discover were in a cave. The entrance was found by construction workers who'd been digging shafts downward to support a new high- rise building within a USA State Capital. The tiger entry had collapsed in prehistoric ages leaving a mated pair stranded beside an underground water basin. The cave is under a steel manhole cover found within a parking garage lower level. With a ladder climb of about 100 feet. As seen today if you happen to go park under the building. Keep looking for tigers is your own underground outings.

The value of old LEVI's jeans goes back to an "all-call" from the LEVI company itself. If memory serves, most if not all of the original sample and patterns from the company's early history burned in a large fire. To get back their history, the company used to offer a sizeable bounty for samples dating before the fire. Shouldn't take much digging to find the full details on this, but I'm short on time at the moment. Even if this pair isn't worth anything, it's a cool find for the history of the town.

There's the Leica ScanStation P40 3D image processor and Leica BLK2GO handheld Scanner. Those can be used to make 3D topographical maps but they are so so so expensive, $100,000 and $60,000 USD and they go, together. There are undoubtedly, older model processors and other scanners but nothing like the Leica BLK2G0. With all that said, it might not be the best for what Brent is doing - typically, the aforementioned products are used to map out large buildings during the building/remodeling process or large, multi acre projects, the data is then put into modeling programs and used, accordingly. They would work for some caves and mines and can be rented for several thousand dollars a day but they probably don't want them taken, haphazardly, down into mines. Expensive, but nonetheless, really cool. Maybe, Brent could partner up with a company (that has a youtobe presence) that has 3D imaging equipment and they could make a "Thing" of it...that's the only way I ever see it happening.

Love the history of jeans. Carl's Department Store in Muncie was like a Levi's museum. Built right after his discharge from the Korean War. His stash was worth millions to certain collectors.

Those Levi’s jeans were a signpost from the Universe and the spirits of Cerro Gordo. They want you to keep fighting for the town and its awesome history. They gave you a big thumbs up to keep you going! They are behind you all the way, and they applaud you. Call me silly or superstitious, but that’s how I see things. There IS a Bigger Picture.
