I Found A BEAST Megalodon Tooth! | Florida Fossil Hunting For Megalodon Shark Teeth

In this video Cris and myself take some friends out to help them find Megalodon Shark Teeth. After they left, we simply could not handle not finding some fossils for ourselves so we stayed in the creek to dig like the insane fossil addicts that we are! It paid off extremely well, and I found one of the nicest Megalodon Shark Teeth I have found to date! We also take the time to clean up some trash from the creek. Thanks for watching and be sure to let me know in the comments if you enjoyed the video! Thank you!

I am so jealous omg. So, here in North Texas the only things we ever find in this one creek near Sherman, Texas, are mostly teeny tiny teeth (the size of a pebble), oysters, ammonites, Goblin/Sand/ shell crusher sharks teeth, giant turtle shell pieces, horse and bison teeth/bones and misc. other tiny teeth/ bones. I still get this excited over the small stuff...but to find a MEG??? The dream, dude. The dream.

You guys are awesome for taking the trash out of the environment and out of the water. Thank you so much! It shows how much you care for the wildlifes's habitats. I feel if you are a responsible rockhound or fossil hunter there is a code we all should live by when it comes to the animals and their environment. Some people don't even bother with the rockhound etiquette. Like if you pack it IN, you pack it OUT, or digging massive holes under tree roots with out covering any of their holes they dug, those holes are deep enough that someone could possibly fall and get seriously hurt! I have mad respect for you guys! Its gives me hope for the future generations. Some of Your subs are the future and see you and will hopfully emulate it as well. If you pack it in, you need to pack it out!

Started watching your and Peleo Cris's videos tonight. You guys are hilarious. I'm from the northwest and have very little knowledge of Florida fossils, so please tell me why there are so many fossil shark teeth and bones in that creek? It's really fun to watch you make your discoveries and your videos are excellent. Thanks for taking us along for the fun.
@WILDKYLE
@WILDKYLE 5 лет назад
Thanks so much for watching Gwynn! Glad to hear you like the videos 😊 The reason we find so many shark teeth and fossils in the creek is because the creek is cutting into a layer of time when Florida was underwater, often for millions of years at a time. Sharks shed their teeth so over millions of years they have left incredibly large numbers of teeth on the ocean floor, which the creeks now cut into so we can find them!

@WILDKYLE
@WILDKYLE 5 лет назад
These fossils are Middle Miocene in age, around 5-15 million years old or so. Icthyosaur fossils are found in Mesozoic era sediments which are around 252-66 million years old. There are no sediments that old exposed in Florida. Yes, sharks don't have bones but they have cartilage which does fossilize!
