Hey y'all! I have been passionate about our planet's rich prehistoric and historic record since I was a little kid and I believe that sharing our passions is a BIG way that we can influence positive change in the world. So I started this RU-vid channel back in 2018 to do just that. You can expect to see all sorts of outdoor adventures here on the channel related to History, Geology, Biology, and Paleontology. I consider myself a Naturalist and someone who cares deeply about our planet and it's health. I clean up as much as possible while out exploring because I truly believe we can make a difference! Also, you'll see me sharing my music here as I'm incredibly passionate about songwriting and performing music. Perhaps you'll catch me on down the road at a show or in the river. Thank you for being here, I appreciate it more than I can express!
You sure are lucky. She is a lovely girl so pretty and delightful. Having things in common are more important than the way people look, but she is lovely.
If only 70k Neanderthal existed at any one time i fail to see how fighting over hunting grounds or for land would have occurred. Land is vast and food was abundant. You would have been hard pressed to even come across any in a lifetime of travel. I'm sure travel by foot was on a very limited scale. This just does not add up. If you wore only traveling through i don't see why killing would be a motive since your first concern would be to evade so you could continue travel. confrontation brings the possibility of death. I'm certain they wore aware of this.
Shhhhh don't tell everybody! Bamboo isn't native to area...invasive to state. There's also a Cypress Swamp park, the northernmost on E. Coast. Welcome to Maryland, called "America in miniature"
I went to this exact beach with my family in June of 2023. The weather that day was calm and crystal clear, there were barely any waves breaking on the shoreline. Crazy how different it looks with choppy weather. We found some colossal scallop and barnacle fossils and a bunch of shark teeth, ray plates, bone fragments, and petrified wood. That and we befriended some locals who got us into a private beach with even more shark teeth than this beach or the state park. 11/10 trip, would highly recommend to any fossil hunters within driving distance of Maryland
I was just there in May! I didn’t find much at the cottages where you guys are but Flags pond and Purse beach are two great areas to check out. And westmoreland state park in Va as you head back south.
I must’ve missed something, what is it that you’re finding? What are those I must’ve missed in the conversation somewhere that you must’ve said what you were looking for what type of fossil is that? Is it an animal or growth plant matter?
I explained it right in the first couple minutes of the video 😊. They are "Calamites" which are ancient horsetail plants. Look up "horsetail plants" on Google and you'll see what they look like today. The ones we are finding are segments of giant horsetails that reached over 100 feet tall.
What you had found was a Seabiscuit they are 30 million years old. They’re fossilized sea biscuits. I am in North Myrtle Beach and we have them all up the Carolinas.
Kyle- I find those fossil echinoids further up north too. I find them in the flint river from Cordele, Ga to Newton, Ga. Most being around Albany, Ga. Have a wicked little echinoid cast in flint from albany.
26:51……just to the bottom right of the tiger shark tooth is the tip of another shark tooth. “Just the tip” hahahaha!! I live along the western shores of the Chesapeake, 5 minutes from Calvert Cliffs………awesome place to live and hunt!!
