I love how he was so happy to "matchmake" the wolf and the woman together.... and he's never found the half-eaten corpse of the woman... I wonder how upset he'd be if he did find her.
Hi Mark! I'm sure you won't notice this comment. BUT if you are interested in the background of this game, you should read the Russian book of the Strugatsky brothers "The Snail on the Slope". This is science fiction. There is a huge hidden world in this story. Be careful, there are a lot of spoilers here.
Hey Mark. That red light that appeared in your hideout is called "Glare." You can look at it as long as you are outside of the red aura. If you are, however, in the red aura, don't look at the white core. That's what causes the PAIN debuff. Also, when you are about to face off with a Banshee, you have a 50/50 chance of being able to face the wall and it'll just go away. A third thing. When you see Mushrooms, be wary. They may be mushroom men. If they are, run. And if you don't get away, have bandages on hand. Do not try to melee fight these things. It's a bad idea. Trust me. Finally, be careful around the Old Woods. Be observant. Respect them. If you don't, who knows what the trees will throw at you. Treat every day like you're about to face every enemy at once. Only then will you hope to survive.
Dante_Sparda_The_Deceiver thanks for the tips, Mark probally not gonna see your comment because he avoid this series’s comment section for the spoil, but not to worry, I will read for him :)
Wait, I ran into a mushroom man without knowing what it was. Hit it with my shovel, and then it exploded and nearly instantly killed me. Oof. Mushroom men be dangerous.
The pig heads are there because you kill the town's food source so now you have a hex on you that makes it harder on you. Unless you kill the town's folks they will not stop. This also affects you later in game with town folks going into the next area and not being so nice. Hope you read this have a great day and love your vids.
The protag finds a magazine that he calls "this years issue" dates like 1987 or such, the latter half of the game suggests the forest has been getting awful over the past decade
"Why did I have the memories of someone that wasn't me?" Are you sure that wasn't you? Are you 100% certain that wasn't you? Are you absolutely, undeniably convinced that wasn't you? Because the implications of that BEING you are infinitely worse.
@@jackreid2664 pretty sure the dream sequence was of the main character's normal past before the "apocalypse" and a metaphorical meet with his present self at the door. Seems more plausible than taking it at face value that a guy in a normal house with a normal life randomly decided to kill the man knocking at his door, take his clothes, leave his house and wife and run into a nightmare-filled forest.
I just wish he knew why monsters keep rushing him. It's because he has his dang lamps shining out the barricaded windows like a lighthouse signaling the outside world.
@@braedonjolie9551 its probably the generator not the lights themselves. From my experience in the game its a lot safer without the generator than with it(even thou lights were always in corners not shining throu windows)
Yeah the noise from the generator does attract them to the generator. But the light from the lamps also cause enemies to run into the room with the light in it. Could be used as a lure if played right. Unfortunately Mark just has no idea why enemies keep rushing him so he's just preparing to attack now
@@braedonjolie9551 i haven't found any source confirming that light indeed does that and i could not reproduce it whatssoever with flares, lanterns, torches and flashlights. Even having generator on with the lamps being off still attracts similar amount of enemies regardless due to the generator being on and lights don't seem to effect that. At this point flares and camping seems to be the safest in the old woods and the swamp(spent several nights in both almost not encountering enemies in them with mediocre barricades and the nights i use the generator with lights off unless needed at least 3 enemies rush the room im in regardless of light)
Mark: **casually recording more then 4 episodes with the same outfit which probably means he has been playing for a looooong time** Me: hmmm... a true gamer I see
Some random event that may happen at night. It appears where the player is and being in its light hurts you so you have to move out of its light. It also pulls any nearby furniture messing up the players layout and also potentially pulling lamps into the field of view of any window (even barricaded ones) so light shines outside attracting enemies. The red light may spawn multiple times. More of an annoyance than deadly threat, unless it manages to move lamps to attract multiple enemies that might overwhelm the player in their panic. Obviously the player running away from the light makes noise that also attracts nearby monsters. Similar events happen like when shadows appear, they disable all but one light and hurt you in darkness. Or that one time when all the furniture was moving around near the start of marks playthrough, that was a poltergeist spawn which moves furniture changing player layouts and possibly attracting enemies by moving lights into windows.
@@musicmakespeace From what the true ending is showing, those red glare (which will show up in later chapter) is some what "influence" of " The Being", since they all have the similar appearance of a glowing orb.
@@mutantkiller2744 Just a guess, as I haven't played the game myself, but I'm assuming that the villagers, you know, the villagers? Who's demonic, mutated pig momma who was their only source of food Mark *killed*. Yeah, I'm assuming they're onto him.
But wait wolfman had a wolf head so what is there's going to be a new npc called pigmen who calls mark carrot and always has armor and is always making references to a farmer slaughtering pigs and how the armor will protect him.
Markiplier thinking this is the end: Me knowing he’s not even halfway there, the creatures he will encounter will make this look too easy,he made very, very bad descisions and many people will die in the end because of it,and it only gets worse from here on: *yes very much the end totally*
I assume you're not American? Cuz we'd rather find peaceful solutions over shooting. I'd say Soviet Russia and Nazi-occupied Germany are better examples of "default to shooting"
its actually a normal rhyme, it usually goes “heres the church, heres the steeple, open the doors, theres all the people”. he still did a cool version of it though lol
Yeah, chapter 2 took me longer than the first chapter on just how hard it was to traverse it. Also the eviroment itself get way more agressive and interesting. Luckly i hoarded a lot of ammo throughout the game so i didnt die too much lol
Mark: In the middle of an intense fight or story-dependent interaction. Verizon: Plays a 15 sec unskippable add “So businesses can produce like never before.”
@@allieb.2397 I do recall he went into the room where the pretty lady was, after giving the key to the Wolfman because what he could see through the window and hear through the door was unsettling enough he didn't feel right giving it to the Musician. Obviously she wasn't there anymore. He also found the Wolfman in a building somewhere in the Old Woods, grateful for the Protagonist's actions, which I assume means what was left of her was in the same building, though I do not recall Mark noticing her body.
I absolutely love seeing Mark every now and then come across a game he loves so much to do a full playthrough, and when hes coming up on the end he gets more and more distraught the more clues he finds pointing that hes coming to the end
The underground door definitely leads to the endgame, but who says the endgame isn't a new horrible area that you can't leave and must explore for an exit through much more horrible enemies
That's too bad since so many people were seems genuinely trying to give mark the help he needed. I honestly thought that if he recorded it in advance it wouldn't be the entire episodes in the series and rather be 3 or so episodes recorded per 1 upload.
@@updatedotexe Hope you understand, sometimes it just can't be helped of you but wanting to correct people when you simply know that what they are doing is wrong. But i can still relate on how much Mark really love this game and he doesn't want his experience to be spiled because someone at the comment section spoiling any story and the like.

Ok can you please explain to me what’s going on here I’m really confused who’s “she” sorry I don’t go on social media that often and what’s this about the “individual”
It's definitely very effective to use gas trails to burn enemies, but even experienced players have difficulty utilizing it as a trap, unless you plan to waste gas just to burn one enemy at a time
Mark, as long as the chompers aren't doing they're charge attack, u can literally just dodge backwards and not get hit, the have less range on they're attacks than the axe
!Update! She's now trying to find his IP address Try to get this to the top so Mark and others can see it! There's someone on Instagram that's sending Amy death threats. There is screenshots of her messaging her multiple horrible things. She also claims to know where Mark and Amy live. She has accounts of multiple different platforms as well, including RU-vid. Please stay safe. She's obsessing over him and saying that she's his perfect match. I'm reporting her stuff to try and help get it taken down.
Random fact: Scientist discovered sharks that are living in an active volcano. Divers cannot investigate because they would get burns from the acidity and heat.
Should we tell mark, that banshee's won't aggro, if he just doesn't directly look at them. (Also the birds flying overhead signal that there is a banshee coming)
@@honeysickle I hesitate to call it that because of the connotations attached. I consider it more as 'the online version of me' but it's over a decade old at this point. I've just been too lazy to change old accounts. But thank you! Even though I never did the green irl, I still got plenty of compliments on my hair back in the day!
Something I appreciate about these games is how realistic the environment is in relation to the player. As the player, you would have a general knowledge of the area around you, but without light directly on things you wouldn't see new things or small details. So when you walk around you have the general environment but there's still new things that you only see with light. It's really cool and I haven't seen a mechanic like that in any other game before.
