@@enderking333 The agreement was for them to both take the exit together, which they did. Once they were in the tunnels, they each have their own agenda.
This house is related to the musician, Just a spoiler alert: If he gave the key to the musician instead of wolfman, he gets another quest to pick up the musicians moms violin from here and gets a drawing. If he gives the mother the drawing before picking up the violin nothing happens and he can hand it over to the musician. Which then causes both parents to turn into red chumpers and kill him. Not giving them the drawing however, turns them both into red chumpers on the spot and attack the protagonist which causes the musician to make them graves and no longer speak to the protagonist
I did look it up afterward, and there's only two chapters. I fully expected there to be like four or five; who the fuck does "chapters" when there's only two parts? Who is writing a book with two chapters?
Tommy Derp what’s the difference between saying part I and part II, and Chapter I and Chapter II? There’s no difference lol. Plus, there could be a sequel to this game that starts at Chapter 3. Saying this is the end of the book and sounding upset about it when it’s the first game not only sounds stupid, but makes no sense, since they could always pick up from this game.
I made the mistake of getting this game for the Switch Lite when he was still in the dry meadow. I thought it would be cool. Seeing this, combined with my inability to deal with this type of stress, I think I may have wasted my 14 bucks...
I like how this series is not for everyone but Mark still plays the heck out of it even if it's not getting views as much as his other vids. I like this series btw
@@drugmate9710 I mean Mark jumped pretty badly at that, and he didn't experience anything that Lixian edited. I myself jumped from that, though I can't say for certain if it was from the game or the editing. Either way it got me.
@@QwertyThe2nd He jumped because the creature rose from the water. The music was Lixian's doing. The closest the game ever comes to a proper jumpscare is when that swamper appears and then disappears in the underground tunnels by the end of chapter 1.
Mark when talking to the old man: "So what have you been eating?" Me: "I would assume he's been eating wood from the trees. Isn't that what everyone eats?"
There's something interesting about how your character knows what he's doing and where he's going, but you don't have a clue. Disconcerting too though.
I really love it though, there's so many games where the game wants you to relate to and become the main character but in this game he is as unnerving as the rest of the world. The way the character has his own hidden agenda, the way the rest of the villagers from the first section were afraid of him, the way he hates himself when he looks at himself in the mirror, it makes a part of you not want to help him succeed but also makes you so curious about him
"I dodged every single one of those!!" *Flashes back to mark consistently dodging a little to early and dodging backwards instead not out of it's path*
You can only dodge backwards in the game, I think the game's combat is supposed to slow and mark is trying to do it as fast as he can to not take up the time.
@Sokol4909 Let me get this out of the way, I haven’t played the game. However if you can only dodge backwards, can’t you just position your character perpendicular to the path of the enemy to then dodge sideways? Because it seems to me like that’s what the game wants with the enemy patterns since many of them appear to charge past where you would have dodged backwards and give you more time to swing than if they were right in front of you
@@Doctor-qs5dy That's a pretty good way to dodge actually, even I haven't done that lol. Anyway it is possible to do that but I think it'd be tricky given your limited fov while positioning yourself, but regardless I think that again it would be a better way to dodge. Thanks for correcting me. :)
i wanna say something I dont get why these longer series don't get more views than other videos.. I rly wish that was the case. if that was the case more youtubers would bring out series of games again, which is something i miss. for example this series, i LOVE it. But, it seems to be lowering in views. So in a logical sense this series could easily die. But, I like how Mark is dedicated in finishing it. I just wish views didn't play such a big role for youtubers.. I wanna watch series again. :(
Personally I don't like horror games so when he uploads something scary I dont watch it but I forced myself to watch an episode cause I missed him and then I fell in love lmfao. Maybe the horror factor plays a role?
@@sarak6883 I kinda doubt that since the horror genre is kinda Mark's thing. That's how he gained such a huge following to begin with, most people are here for that
I think popularity plays a big role in the views someone would get, fnaf was getting a load of views because it became a sensation like minecraft for example (imagine how many views mark would get if he uploaded a fortnite / apex / halo etc video) Darkwood isn't known by a lot of people so casual people just evade videos of games that arent easily recognized by them. I am probably wrong on all I said so feel free to flame me if you want.
Everyone’s talking about how this series doesn’t get as much views, but it’s almost at 1 million views per episode. I know his other videos can get like 10 million, but I think he’s a big enough youtuber to have earned the ability to keep on series that ‘only’ get a million views. I mean, that’s still enough to make a hefty profit and keep fans happy
I also think that a lot of his fanbase have stuck around from their younger years- personally i’ve watched mark on and off for the past 6 years, and the particular group that has been watching him since they were young have matured with him. I remember a bunch of GMod vids and such. i think its helpful that his taste and fanbase have matured with him.
Mark: "I appreciate that the night hasn't been to tough on this first night.." Creature bursts out from underground making blululuololulu sound effect from Carrion
Like people are saying, I really like this series. Dunno why it doesn't have more views, but it's one of my favorite things I've seen you playthrough since Prey. Thanks, Mark!
@@grundleslap377 it is, but I too sometimes find myself stopping on some of his series because of Mark's way of playing games. I get that he has other things to focus on, but when something too obvious flies around his head for a hundredth time it becomes hurtful to watch.
@@romanlinnik7441 I agree actually, I love Mark to death but sometimes I just can't with him and I have to give up on a video lmao but I do think that other comment was kinda rude, ouch
he's not close to the end of the game, this game is 11 hours long. going through the door just opens up EVEN MORE stuff you can do. more stuff than he's done in the first chapter really.
The night: I see... The time has come to tear you a new ass. I heard you pissed on a tree, that's a big no no around here, lad... Say your final prayer. I come for ye.
@@Somebody-ko9hi I'm pretty sure there's also an epilogue :) I dunno if it's really much, but I saw a few people say that there's only the second chapter and then there's an epilogue left
Mark, after 9 episodes: So yeah, I'm probably about done with this series, the game is probably about finished Mark, seeing 'Chapter 2' appear on screen after hours of gameplay: ... What?
Mark in the beginning Mark:"OH NO HE DESERVES TO DIE HE KILLED THAT DOG!!" Mark now Mark dripping with sarcasm:" Oh noooo did you get slunked? pooooor poochy"
Hey mark! I played this game as well, *here are a few tips:* 1. Stay away from the WATER as much as possible to not attract those alligators. 2. Find the JUNKYARD as soon as possible, it is just one amazing loot pile. Make sure to bring your (repaired) shovel(s) though! 3. Dont venture too far away from home if your inventory is full. The swamp is very hard and the enemy spawn rate is very high. Dying whilst far away from home is a really bad thing. 4. Try to stay away from (big) clusters of white, poisonous mushrooms. An explody mushroom dude can come out of them and start to chase you. When and if they catch you it's almost instantly a game over, they do hella damage. I hope you'll read this!
Sèm van Putten he doesn’t read comments because of spoilers and he wants to experience it himself Bet 50 cents he doesn’t see this Please don’t interpret this as a hate comment because it isn’t
@@jj7045 i can even bet 100 dollars he won't read it. Cuz of 2 reasons. 1: of what you said. 2: there are hundreds if not thousands of comments. How big is the chance he'll see this one
Omg i actually didn't know there was gators and im scared of gators so thank you so much. I have encountered any deeper water or what looks like a swamp but thank you so much
I like how people are worried for his viewership when really it's just about the content creator having fun making videos or streaming if they desire to do it and love the game they play
People are concerned because they've come to care for Mark. And when RU-vid is your main career and livelihood, every view counts - less views, less revenue. As it is, ad revenue has been down due to Covid related circumstances. I'm just confused by it because this is an amazing game and, therefore, an amazing series.
@@GameplayTherapy omg. . . Is that one just above my comment? Omg omg omg! Gotta get my camera this is pure nature! Those guys down at the lab will finally see they do exist!
Buy it if you've got the cash! Mark's missed a decent amount of stuff in the previous zone, and there's multiple ways to make it through chapter 2, so still plenty of new content, plus it supports the devs.
@@archemyre7833 ''Mark's missed a decent amount of stuff in the previous zone.'' hey, can you tell what are these? I've been playing this game too now and I've just arrived to swamp too but honestly I couldn't stay that much in ''Old Woods'' and I wonder what I missed.
Mark: I am appreciative that the night is not too terrible... "horrible abomination crawls right out of the floor" "Mark screams in ultrasonic volume" XD
for me is when he left the house without the wood and nails when he wanted to go to the tunnel even tho the game said to bring all the very important items. he left two good weapon parts and like so many stacks of wood TvT and nails, the swamp is not like the usual first chapter its the worst area of them all.
me: [ranting to self about things letsplayers have missed, even though the events of their videos happened in the past] me, having an epiphany: wait... if *i* buy the game... *I* can do those things...
That's literally why I've bought so many games the RU-vidr I watch have played. Watching them stumble over the same obstacle 20 times while I'm screaming "It's over there" just pisses me off just enough to want to see if it's really that hard or am I just over-simplifying things.
@@DemainaNyx i kinda bought risk of rain 2 because jacksepticeye reminded me of it in one of his videos. So kinda the same premise byt i got it because its kinda fun even if it is repetetive, although almost every game is repetetive in a way.
That old man said that people stopped going through those parts because the big tree So many if Mark was to break the tree he might be able to visit his old hideout in chapter one
Gameplaywise and storywise no. The big tree is the entire forest, so killing it would allow him to escape the forest. And if he escapes the forest there's no reason to go back to the old hideout when there's actual houses in areas of the world that aren't infested by supernatural trees.
I love that you are so dedicated to finish this. That has always been a huge strength with you Mark that I wish other RU-vidrs had. Absolutely love this game but I dont think I'd ever get as far as you did, so thank you so much for still playing it
unfortunately he rarely ever finishes games. i hope he finishes this one, it's 11 hours long, i've both played and rewatched this game because it's so incredible. but watching him play it is a whole new amazing experience.
If your new to the game the centipede looks really scary. But I've put so many hours into this game and I can say that THE CENTIPEDE IS FUCKING HORRIFYING! THAT SHIT CAN COME OUT OF NOWHERE AND STUNLOCK YOU LIKE NO OTHER CAN!
@Sans !FS Some Yandere girl said the wanna kill Amy and have Mark to herself. She sent Amy Death threats on instagram. She then blamed it on issues from the past. She needs help
I was playing this too, I'm actually in this chapter, and he has NO idea what is going to happen to him, but I can't wait to see. I wasn't expecting much of what happens.
When I played this game, I spend hours dragging and pushing furniture across the maps to block up the safe house. Did anyone else do that :),,, The church pews took ages .
After Mark got to chapter 2, did anyone get the “Maze Runner” vibes? It’s like when the gladers (spoiler) escaped the maze and they thought that they were okay only to arrive to a destroyed world
There were some things that Mark missed throughout his previous playthroughs such as the invitation to the wedding. I just hope he replays it again to just achieve that so I can see how he reacts to it.
So is the best strategy to just turn on the generator, turn OFF the lights, barricade whatever needed, hide somewhere safe without lights, and pray nothing accidentally finds you?
Necroby Nerton nah you just gotta keep the lights out of the windows/other openings. Cuz the monsters can and will try to get into the base if they see light through the window. If you just have the lights off sure you might not get caught but when you do its gonna fucking suck because you can’t fight what you can’t see. Also sometimes shadows can spawn in the darkness and attack you if there’s no light.
What I usually do is put every movable light source in the same room, that way if one goes out I still have the other one/s and I’ll never run out of light. This might have a thing or two to do whith why I have so many god damn flares
I love how the game calls the one house "Creepy house" as if all the other houses in the game aren't creepy lol Also you will not be led by the hand as if we were being led before tho lol
@@reesesman8821 well every house is creepy but there's something so much creepier happens on that house, so it's probably good for us to not see what is there. :D simply I can say that Mark made a good choice by not able to get in that house.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS MARK !!! 1. The meat from the large dogs are and have always been useful for levelling. It's the small dogs whose meat is just used for baiting! 2. If you have 1 or 2 items placed over each other, hover over and press 'E' and it will switch between them. For this example the bear trap and the door! (you will also notice an indicator next to your cursor when this options available) I'm loving watching you play this Mark! I've been a huge fan of this game since it's release and it's great to see your comedic talent throughout it!
Hey mark, you should play scrutinized, it is a game made by the same people who made the welcome to the games, and i am refusing to watch anyone else play it.
Mark acted like an idiot, sent a mob of his retarded clowns to rage against the dev of Welcome to the Game (because as grown as Mark is, he has no responsibility over his fame and the power it holds on said clowns), and all of this because he didn't figure out the _most obvious_ part of WTTG2 regarding the assassin, Lucas. I still watch some of his content, but I lost more than half the respect I had for him as one of few decent game content creators.
I never was a fan of top-down horror, but this game fascinates me. It genuinely creeps me out and gets my attention, it is really good storytelling and keeps it just vague enough to make us want to uncover the end.
The one frustration i have with the end of this first chapter is that it makes it sound so... climactic. And then it goes and puts a 'point of no return' warning (which isn't false) which many games do right before the end. So if you're a dunce like me who managed to forget that it said chapter 1, you might go in without the majorly valuable items you collected.
