Most of these goals were either heavy traffic in front, or just unsavable one timers. You do seem to over slide at times though. I'm not a goalie by any means so I can't even describe how hard it must be in the first place to try and read the play on how much you need to shuffle. Seems like that's the one thing most tendys have as a common struggle.

you gotta look at the positives here, i’m a freshman and we didn’t have a tendy so i decided to play instead of skate out and i’ve only played a couple of varsity games and they’ve been rough. just always look at what you did good and how you can improve on what you did poorly and keep getting better.

My son's confidence has probably tripled knowing that even someone at Travs level experiences hardships and doubts regarding his game. Travs Q&A has been invaluable to my son's game!

A LOT of those goals are really nice shots/plays. Not a whole lot of weak, soft ones. Everyone hits a slump. Keep your head up and charge on. I'm new to your channel but I'm really rooting for you.

We all have bad days and bad games. I always try to look at the game as goals don't matter, big saves don't matter, and mistakes don't matter. The next shot is all that matters. After the game is the time to reflect. Granted after a goal or a mistake taking a second or two to refocus is helpful too.

I forgot to mention- amazing save at 2:30 and super nice glove save at 3:21. Another of my super huge banes as a new goalie who's old is puck tracking in traffic. Nice job on that low one glove side through heavy traffic. I mainly watch these point of view vids to look at your positioning in certain full-speed situations. It helps a lot. Thanks.

From the clips your showed it honestly looked like you played well. You were in position making the right decisions. Sometimes you just have shit luck. I mean you make your own luck but sometimes that doesn’t matter what you do the luck just won’t bounce the way you want.

Hey trav, I know these games can be hard, giving up 10 goals isn’t the best thing you could do, personally I’ve given up 21 goals so at least you’re not alone, just remember us goalies have felt the same things, and just focus on the next game.

Trav, you told me to drop questions on today’s video after asking you Junior B or Midget AA. One more I gotta ask, your buddy Thomas Freeman, how’d he make Manitoba Major Junior without having any elite midget experience (at least none that I can see on Elite Prospects)? How much does prior experience affect your odds of making a high level junior team? Love the vids, keep em coming.

One thing that helps my game is that I reflect on my game for at least 10-15 minutes. What type of goals did I let in. Was I aggressive? Was I confident? What are my weaknesses that I need to work on. I’m pretty sure you already do that but the most improtant thing is to stay confident. I once let in 4 goals in a playoff game and got pulled in the third period. We came back and won and that completely destroyed my confidence for my next game and lost 7-5. I let in at least 4 softies. I was being too self concentrated on not being pulled the whole game. Next season my dad told me to be more confident. I was and we won the championships that year. (Last year I got pulled cause I let in 4 goals in 10 shots, I know. 10 shots in 2 periods, our defence was pretty good but I sucked)

One thing I've gotta give Trav credit for, becoming popular as a goalie on utube, these kids scoring tap ins screaming and turning back just to get there face on the goPRO would drive me nuts. Its classless and takes a thick skin as a goalie, especially on a bad day. Good on you, keep it up

I'd love to see you take the footage of each goal and break down what you did wrong, complete with marking up the video showing what you should have done. I know my son would benefit from it. I like the idea of putting a GoPro in the net while you play. I might do the same thing for my son. Do you put any protection on it before you put it in ? :)

In Oct of this year I played my first game in goal after a 11 year hiatus. I'm as rusty as they come and I'm learning the butterfly style. I managed a shout out because my teammates played great in front of me. We are a Warrior Hockey club. Everyone on my team is a Disabled Veteran. That's why I came back to play.
