I remember years ago, when Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg Indiana was the only place around to play live poker in my area post UIGEA that wasn't an "illegal" home game, I drove there from Dayton OH (a roughly 70-mile drive), was eating at the dinner buffet before my expected session, only to decide I wasn't up for it and headed right back home, even knowing I could be stuck in Rush Hour Traffic doing so.

@@rodb.5801 I think A/8 raise is a slight over play. You lose to pocket 10s, pocket 5s, pocket 7s, j/9 suited, 10/8. Plus, you don’t want an ace in your hand, so that the opponent can have all a/10 combos, I think k/8 is better raise candidate than a/8. Either way I’m just calling with an 8 also. Overbet with 9/6 would be my play

I don't think that first check back with the nines is too nitty, honestly. Unknown player, you feel he's bluffing anyway. You bet he either blows you off your hand or folds and you don't get the information that he's in there making moves with KT off. I hate bomb pots. Play solid poker for 5 hours just to lose your stack when you get a cooler in a bomb pot. Instead of gimmicks like bomb pots I wish there was a demand for mixed games in casino poker rooms, whether big bet NLH/PLO mix or an 8 game mix, or combine both.
