I got fitted two weeks ago and ended up with the Cobra. I played with it for the first time last weekend and I can't say enough good things about it. The minimal spin it produces sends the ball flying on these hard Colorado fairways. Great choice!
Sweet! Definitely looks like a great fitting experience! I am glad he didn’t “push” his opinions and let you rock what you felt was best for your game and eye!
I just got fitted for a full set at pxg and the shafts make an instant difference. It was my first time getting fitted but definitely made me a believer. It’s different for every golfer
Awesome that you’re taking the effort to keep improving, club fittings are amazing. I’ve been waiting almost 2 months for my Sim2 Max driver to come in since I got the custom color option, I’m dying to get my hands on it
I had a fitting last week and didn't even swing the Cobra. My magic setup ended up being the Calloway Epic Speed with the Oban Kiyoshi Purple shaft. Pretty awesome feeling when you find that perfect combo that just hits different.
I play the TSi 3 at 8 degrees and it is a phenomenal driver. Requires you to be a lot more consistent with your contact but is very rewarding when you’re dialed in.
If you’re playing golf with any regularity and have the means to get yourself fit for clubs with a fitter that understands data like this guy, it will be a) tons of fun and b) make your golf way more fun. And that’s true for almost every level of player. Great video.
What abt a 16 year old so isn’t sure if they are gonna grow more or if my swing is gonna change? I’m 6’1 so adult sizes clubs are good obviously but I’m using an old set. How much difference does it really make?
@@danielfinerty9504 I would talk to a fitter and get their recommendation. If you’re full grown I doubt things like lie angle would change much even with swing changes so that seems to me like it would be a net positive. If you’re hitting a different shot shape than you want to-like a big banana slice-then you would want to get those corrected before you’re fitting or make sure they put you in adjustable clubs with weights and lie angles so you can accommodate those swing changes. I didn’t have the money for new clubs when I was 16 so wasn’t even a consideration for me :)
@@tysonstrommen9220 tru chains but I like to feel good and like the look of what I’m looking down at as well as consistent numbers. I’m pretty picky lol. Has to have it all.
Would love to have seen you try the lower spinning heads with more loft. You could get another 10 yards carry easily with that speed if you got the launch up and brought the spin down. Cool video though mate
Did you watch the start of the video where they spoke up descent angles and optimising that for softer conditions? Thats why his carry was less than the old driver but total was more.
I've always loved and had great results with Cobra drivers. The rest of their clubs are meh to me, but their drivers have always been really good for me.
Just got fitting Cobra Rad speed with Fujikura Motore X F1 X stiff weight forward got about 20 more yards over my F9 on average and lot straighter. Also got fit for cobra 3 wood big tour, and looking forward to getting fit for the tour 5 wood too
Cool to see. Im un able to play golf anymore but when I could I needed to play more often because I could out drive anyone and everyone I played with distance wise but it doesn't do any good to drive the ball 325 yards if it isn't straight. That was my biggest problem, I'd hit the ball the long very long but it would end up either out of play or just a bad spot for my next shot. Now approaching the green was my biggest weakness, out of 100 par 4 greens my second shot would land on the green MAYBE 5 or 8 times out of 100. I'd either be just over or just left or right sometimes short and then the dreaded two or three putt. So in my game being able to out drive every other golfer didn't help me at all because after my drive I was lost. Funny thing though is everyone wanted me on their scramble team because how far I could hit the ball. Lol
I all ready new it would be cobra lol I love cobra great brand I just bought a new set 2 months ago love them ... definitely try the cobra (mim) wedges I love mine
If you're looking for a low spinning monster of a driver look into a Taylormade M2, seen alot of reviews lately comparing new and old tech and the M2 still keeping up or doing better than anything new, just a thought
I got fitted a couple days ago and was hoping the PING would win based solely off the sound of the head. But it won with ease. Crazy how straight this thing goes. At least the head looks sick.
Cobra is getting very popular, thanks to Bryson DeChambeau (who actually won with a 4-year old driver, from what I've heard). And funny thing is its a less expensive brand.
he was being sarcastic/facetious because he hit it so good on the first shot... The same as literally every time (ever) that someone hits a great shot with any club they don't own and the friend/bystander yells "put that straight in your bag"
I think Steve's swing is great for only golfing a couple years. I've seen much much worse from people who golfer longer. There's really no huge obvious flaws
@@josiahjones9521 hanging out with tig and garret and matt i would hope his swing wasnt shit... his swing is just super inconsistent and he thinks he is better than he is cuz he plays with these guys ... if steven were to play for a GHIN i guarantee he would be in the high teens.. 15-19hcp....
Cobra is crazy forgiving and when you hit it in the screws the distance is crazy. I'm 59 and just 140 lbs and hit my F9 230 -250 range but more importantly my misses generally stay in play. And don't forget Cobra is about $100 cheaper than the other top brands.
Cobra for you, looks like I'm getting a Cobra. I like that one better than the bright green one. Right now I'm playing old school Nike Vapor Fly Pro driver.
over 2500 spinrate still seems like you're leaving a good chunk of distance on the table. Maybe you're sacrificing the extra yards for more control/softer landings? If so I like the approach!
The impression I got was Garret was looking more for accuracy than straight distance. To get accuracy, you need a little bit of spin, not to mention spin helps with the misfits.
@@scottchapman3507 Bryson used a spinnier driver this last weekend....... he specifically hit an older model cobra LTD taht is known to be super spinny...
Garrett, I feel ya with the Taylormade drivers, I don’t know what it is, but I’ve never been able to hit ‘em as well as the others. However, I did just buy a SIM-UDI 2-iron...chose it over the Titleist U-510, but I think shaft had a lot to do with as well.
Request: next time you guys hang with Bryson, see if he’ll do some swings using his old method (less wrist hinge and not trying to kill it). Might highlight how much of his speed gains have been training vs technique.
Kyle is different he has started doing direct work with Bryson. I know what your saying, but tig got fitted into a mizuno driver not long ago so idk if I would say that just yet.
Micah got a Mizuno driver from his fitting, and Garret had a speedzone before hanging out with Bryson, but yeah, sure it would be pretty natural to be influenced by Bryson if you got to hang out with him. Even Kyle switched up to an ArmLock putter.. Not sure if it is Sik though...
