I GOT A NEW 2022 MT-10 SP

I’m 50 yrs old and my beloved 2005 Busa is starting to hurt my body a bit 🥴 I’ve always loved the MT10 and really want to consider making the switch but I can’t get used to that headlamp design. I’ll wait a couple more years to see if they change it to single headlamp less modern design or see if Suzuki comes back with a better looking the B-King which I’m really hoping for. Great bike tho and I’m sure you’ll love your MT 👍

I got my 22' MT09SP in February and I love it. Got about 7000mi on it so far and its perfect for me. I'd love to take one of the new MT10's for a rip but I haven't seen one yet. That 22' MT10SP is a sweet looking bike. I've talked to my local Yamaha dealers about them and they seem to be harder to find then a unicorn.

Nice bike! I have a '18 mt10 that's been done right. K-Tech suspension front and rear, de cat/flash, yosh system. I also have a new gen '21 mt09 so I kind of have the best of both worlds. They're definitely two different bikes but both equally fun in their own way. That's an absolutely fantastic bike but will keep my '18 that I know like a glove.👍

I just traded my MT10 in on a new Super Duke Evo. I loved the MT10 and it was between this one and the KTM but I went with the KTM because of superior gas mileage and tech. Who knows, if I get a chance to demo one of these I may change my mind but I will have a diff experience for a little while on the KTM. The MT10 is a great machine no matter what and I proved that to myself when test riding. I was able to take out the Street Fighter V4S and thought the MT10 was better, more comfortable, certainly more reliable and way more affordable.

It's growing on me, I think I would extend the rear swingarm by an inch or two just for the looks because it looks kinda squashed especially for a taller rider. i find it a nice looking bike maybe not the prettiest but not a bad looking one for sure. The front lights remind me a bit of the speed/street triple - maybe its different in person but on the screen its similar to the protruding triumph head lights (not a deal breaker but wish it was different i guess) - enjoy and stay safe

Love it and looking forward to own one ... No review seams to mention it, BUT sadly the latest generation doesn't have any mounting points for hardcases anymore. The subframe as well as the passenger footpegs don't feature any threats to mount some hardware to. So no more sport touring modded MT-10 builds based on the new platform. I'll be looking for the edgy, trasformer looking predisessor MT-10 SP instead. I value that luggage options more then the 6-axis-IMU for daily commuting. (german Autobahn)

I'm so excited you got this bad boy! it's a mean looking bike for sure. Not sure about the new headlight unit though I liked the old one better i think. Im a yamaha fan myself and currently deciding which bike I should get next and Im seriously considering the new mt 10. Im not too fond of the looks of the new mt 09 plus the 10 is just a beast. the step up might be a bit much from a mt 07 but im confident with the electronic package and aids I'll do just fine.

Great choice! I wanted one, but in my region of the country Yamaha dealers just aren't getting any inventory to sell. I was able to get the standard 2022 MT10 though, in black. I don't really like black, but on this bike and in the shades they used, it looks pretty sweet. I think this is the best street sport bike on the market right now.

Gorgeous bike man. congrath. Also for breaking in. You can ride it how you want.. agressive or slow. Its fine. you wont break it. I believe mC garage did a comparison on both methods and the results are same. So go ham on it.

this will be the same model for 2023 or they will change something? when do the announcements for next year are made? also how it is the fuel consumption compared to the m09? keep riding safe man!

Please do comment on comparisons with MT09. In particular riding position, ergonomics, comfort, are foot position and bars adjustable like 09. What sort of fuel economy are you getting? Grin factor 09 vs 10? Cornering stability? Etc etc

If you ride a Gen1 MT10 you will then notice the induction sound on the Gen2, it’s actually a massive difference

I have this crazy mt10sp to.. Got it first in october in Israel. Bike gives me fantastic emotions..🤪 fan.......tas.....tiiiiiiiiccc!!!!

This was on my shortlist this year but instead I got myself the awesome 22 Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 [non factory]. Where I live [France] I am surrounded by Aprilia dealers so no problem there. This bike keeps winning the super naked shootouts and I can see why. The V4 engine sounds incredible and goes like the starship Enterprise. It looks tremendous as well [I think the Tuono and Ducati Streetfighter are hands down the best looking super nakeds]. But I think the new MT10 is a marked improvement over the old model. The colours look great on the SP and I wish you well on your new steed.

Man, the front end of this screams “transformers” but…to me the dual “eyes” are 1000% ether than the mt-09 cyclops stare!!! I’ve been wanting a ‘21 mt-09sp (paint scheme is better than the 22’s …but then this update hit the mt-10sp…and like you I’ve fallen for it. Even the suspension has been updated beyond the r1m setup! Love this bike. Send it to Chris Moore to get the ecu unrestricted and tuned! Sprint filter and akro or Brock’s exhaust and boom r1 smoka!

Picked mine up 3ish weeks ago and it's incredible. Haven't been able to take it for a decent ride between poor weather, Reno's at home and getting a fucking rear puncture at like 50km.

Looks much better than the initial promo shots, tail tidy is a must. What exhaust can is that? Was hoping you would give us a sound check. Thanks man, nice taster, get rid of those tank warning stickers when you get a chance.

The old one had a 12v too, in EU people use these for sport touring.

One of the things I'm wondering about is if the MT10 will run at a lower RPM at cruising speed in top gear, than the MT09. I think I'm at around 4000 RPM at 60 MPH on the MT09 (winter now I'm going from memory). Can you tell me if the MT10 runs at a little lower RPM at cruising speed than the MT09? Thanks...

Glad to see you upgrading from MT 09 to a 1000cc motorbike. I own an MT 09 2021 and will be upgrading to a Z1000 Kawasaki, as I find that motorbike super sexy in the super naked 1000cc category. Which exhaust did you ordered?

i purchased the 2021 TST tail tidy aswell, noticed i need to do quite a bit of trimming to make it fit, are you able to show what you did to yours to make it fit the 2022s? i purchased a MT-10 non SP.

about the break in is 1000 miles at 5.000 rpm and then 600 miles at 7.000? amazing bike hope you enjoy it, ride safe!

One tip for the menu button: Instead of pushing the wheel button top part downwards. Push the wheel button bottom part and upwards, you will get more consistent confirms that way.

Did you break in the engine? If yes how did you do it?

I have the 2021 MT-09SP love the bike I’ve always like the MT-10 but that front end and some other styling make it a no go for me

the older model front end looked like transformer bumble bee, this one looks like the alien from District 9, lol

Just upgraded my mt09 sp to the mt10. I was pretty happy with my mt09, but this mt10 is so much better :-)

I sold my 2021 mt09 and ended up getting a 2020 Speed Triple RS. MT10 was on my short list of bikes.

Good report. I am VERY MIXED on this bike; I love the paint scheme but DISLIKE that cartoon nose, I truly hope Yama-Mama doesn't cling to the "transformers" style, I hate it. The motor looks too industrial, and has no beauty, IMO. One thing I noticed when I sat on one: there is ZERO internal storage- not even for a TOOLKIT, which they don't provide either. But- I'll bet it's a total hoot to ride, congrats on your purchase, Shiny Side UP.

Nope, still fugly. In fact I think Yamaha managed to make it fuglier. Though I didn't care for the way my first Aprilia Tuono looked when I got it back in 2003 but after a test ride I didn't care what it looked like though my Tuono V4 looks much better. But if you like how it rides then enjoy the MT10.

Congrats! I really like this new MT-10 especailly the SP version. Have you had a chance to compare the MT-10 to the new XSR900? Which one is easier/less aggressive in town? I only rode a Moto Guzzi V7 for 18 months, not sure if I can handel any of these bikes.

Why the exhaust seems to be shorter than on the other models ?!?

I just got the regular 2022 raven black mt10 same story with me was on the list since January and dealer finally got one in love this thing its everything I imagined and more but the downside of getting a brand new bike/new generation is waiting for aftermarket parts to be manufactured, I just received an email from DNA air filters today they are going to be releasing an air filter for the 22 very soon they said keep and eye on their social accounts. So far all I can find is the akro pipe and barely can find them in stock at that the link pipes are sold out everywhere in the us and I don't see any other options for link pipes sadly.... I might take my muffler off like you did I was considering that to see if it would make much difference in the mean time im at about 260miles so far haven't been able to put the miles I want to on it since it rains every single day in Florida this time of year

Nice bike I owned the first gen and loved it. Get a cat delete and it won't even sound or feel like the same bike. And yes yamaha is the best!

I still got the 2016 MT10 and yes you definitely made the right decision buddy, ride safe and enjoy! Its an awesome beast, who cares on the front end...the engine is amazing and it handles great, just get a tail tidy on it first, and get rid of those mirrors, put some bar ends on it will look so much better.
