I Got Caught Repoing This Pontiac, at Pizza Hut! 

All you have to do is call the finance company before you can’t make your next payment. They don’t want to go through repo. They get only the money owed if/when resold and the owner gets the remainder. The only one who profits is the tow company and they are just doing their job.

Isn't there a bunch of late fees and such the bank keeps too for falling behind?@@GoRideConnor

That's a product of these buy here, pay here lots and predatory lending companies that charge astronomical interest rates.. they know they're charging way over market value and that people are gonna default for one reason or another, that's why it has GPS on it.. most of them have remote capabilities to shut the car down.

Pontiac has stopped making those so they are going to be rare one day

No one in their right mind would pay this much for an old, clapped out Pontiac though. The repo charge probably cost more than the car!

I realize that “stuff” happens in life but almost all dealers don’t want the car back. It’s a money drain. Call them and try to work something out. She has a job so just stopping paying will always result in this.

She is asking what is Repo fee going to add to catch up back payment(s). Could be $150.00 up seen some as much $500.00

If she can afford pizza hut, she could afford whatever she owes on it.

Probably bought it from one of those crappy dealers that will finance anything. Take a deposit for what the cars worth and finance the balance on a piece of crap car, then repo it when they don’t pay

@Nikki_alterego No judgment here. Just pointing out a common scenario that many find themselves in. All of the key elements set in place that keep the rich rich and the poor poor. Maybe taking out a loan on a over priced 17yr old car is not such a good idea? It's a bad financial decision that's usually made in desperation or on impulse and that's what the rich bet on. When you gamble the house always wins. Think about it

Buy here, pay here formula: buy car at auction, sell for 2X cost, set up weekly short-term payments. Knew a fella paying$140/weekly on a 10yr old Kia. They prey on folks with limited credit options.

@@flawdaman305 It there is a loan on the Title.. the car is NOT PAID OFF now. Whether it was paid off in the past makes no difference .. there is a loan, and the car is collateral, hence NOT paid off.

Contrary to TV and social media, most repo’s go this way. But the dramatic ones get the views, so that’s what people post. The reality of it is, most people are cool about it. And as long as you’re cool, I’ll be cool in return. Many times I’ve let people get their stuff out of vehicles, or given them a ride home.

That is the best way to look at things. There are entitled jerks out there, but in reality the vast majority of people are hard working folks just trying to make a living and taking care of themselves and their families. Times are tough and typically the payments for cars like this at "buy now pay here" dealers are quite aggressive in terms of interest and the worth of the car. In this case, she at least realized Dustin is just doing his job so there's no point in yelling at someone who hasn't done anything wrong to you. I hope she is able to get her car back, or secure another one.

I’ll repo a car from wherever I can grab it. Never had anyone try to stop me.

I served lawsuit papers to a doctor at a hospital, security saw him screaming at me and didn't ask me to leave.

@@Towtruck_Dustin I found this channel as I just searched repo cars after watching one in person the other night... they followed the car to starbucks.. where I was parked in my mobile office bus .. they mustve knew what was going on and mustve thought the bus was empty as they parked so close the tow rig could never get in.. they went in the store.. the tow truck driver saw me and asked me if I could let him in.. so I backed up the bus about 25 feet.. he zipped in.. the dude and girl come running out of the starbucks with big tall cups screamin... about that time the cops drove in for their usual free cup of evening espresso... it was like a TV show :).. the car went on the hook and the people went on foot.. tow truck driver said he'd buy me a coffee next time he sees me there.. made me think.. they could go buy $6 starbucks drinks but wouldnt make their car payments

Most people are pretty cool about it. By the time we show up, they have had countless chances to setup a payment arrangement.
