@@personnesenki4521 I think if you checked your sources, you'd find that US growth is reasonably strong, 3.4% in 2023, higher than it was during Trump. Job numbers are also higher than under Trump. Inflation is 3.3% annualised (which is only very slightly above the "normal" 2-3% range) and crime statistics are almost universally way down vs Trump. Even if your laments were accurate, it ignores the fact that the big difference between "back then" and "now" was Covid. There is no magic wand that suddenly reverts the economy back to its pre-covid state (without some pretty substantial policy interventions at least). Trump's policy though is to impose a universal 10% tariff on imports isn't it? That will push up costs for people if anything.

Part of the problem is that Trump has normalized nuttiness. Over the years, we, especially his supporters, have adapted to his mental hiccups, which are astoundingly concerning. Also, let's listen to the experts and people with experience with dementia. Not something to take lightly, speaking as a caregiver.
It's called habituation. It is the most rudimentary form of learning but it appears to be almost physiological we are all subject to it, unfortunately.
Yep : 1,867 licensed medical professionals signed an agreement stating that “From our years of training and experience, we are convinced that Donald Trump is showing unmistakable signs of dementia based on his public behavior and informant reports that show progressive deterioration in memory, thinking, ability to use language, behavior, and both gross and fine motor skills.” The signers agree that: Trump “shows a shocking decline in verbal fluency from his previous baseline.” “People who worked closely with Trump [such as former Trump Aide Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin and more] during his administration are reporting a shocking deterioration in just 4 years.” Trump has repeatedly confused people and generations and the Dementia Care Society says “confusing people and generations” is a sign of advanced dementia. Examples of Trump confusing people, including members of his own family, and generations are provided herein. Over 700 mental health experts submitted a petition to Congress warning of Trump’s declining mental health. The Duty to Warn Coalition is an association of psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals who have concluded that Trump is psychologically unfit to be president and that they have an ethical responsibility to inform the public of the danger he represents.

No more Milley, no more Mark Esper, not even a John Bolton in sight. He will be surrounded by people egging him on. Next time when he wants to shoot peaceful protestors or deploy the army against American citizens there will be no more voice of reason, and the corrupt Supreme Court just laid out a path for him to get away with anything and everything. There will be no one telling him to reign in his desire for bribes and quid pro quo favors to personally benefit him from the Saudis or UAE or Russia or anyone else. Tree Stump 2024!
Saying crazy stuff completely detached from reality is a much more concerning cognitive issue than speaking softly, stumbling on words or getting flustered. It's INSANE to think Trump has less severe issues.
President Eisenhower had a number of heart attacks during his administration(s) that the public really didn’t know much about. They especially didn’t know that he was hospitalized for a good percentage of his 2nd term. Do we know that that impacted his efficacy in anyway? The American public also didn’t know about JFK’s poor health, and they very rarely saw FDR in his wheelchair. Do we think that had an effect on either JFK or FDR’s performances as President?
Recently I read Project 2025. I am NOT endorsing it at all, but it kind of broke down the WHO, the different positions that will make up the white house office. These people are delegated most of the tasks that actually run the white house. This is the case under even the healthiest most robust presidents because the job is just too big for one man. They make decisions as proxy for the president himself and have meetings to make sure that it's following along the goals of the president for the country as listed during his/her campaign. When I read this I realized how little of the work is done by the actual president. Obviously yes in a crunch we want our president to be able to step in and make executive decisions. I'm a caregiver for the elderly. More than half are older than Biden. As dementia is a qualifier for our services there is a DX of some kind of dementia in about 80% of the people I am assigned to. What I can say is that in most cases they have more good days than bad and they delegate tasks to me. Most of them make their own shopping lists, they send me to pay the bills after they have written their own checks, balanced their own checkbooks, and ask me to call ride services to schedule rides for their doc appointments which they scheduled. Sometimes I or a family member have to do more to help them do these things but in more cases than not they're able to do more for themselves than one would expect. They couldn't handle the schedule Biden is. So even if he is having some cognitive decline I feel pretty confident that for the most part it'll still be business as usual in the White House.
@@fankrys Why not? The point is that we have always had Presidents with health issues, that didn’t hamper their abilities to lead the nation. Actually, Trump was the first candidate elected in modern times, who didn’t produce any valid health records. Not to mention that he withheld all of his financial records too. He still didn’t have the intellectual capacity to make Presidential decisions. President Biden has already proven that he is far more capable, not just in relation to Trump, but better than other modern presidents too.
I'm Aussie so I would never presume to tell 'foreigner's' on who they should vote for in their countries elections. But I do see a glaring difference between the two parties on offer in your country, regardless of who leads them. From the outside its not a Trump or Biden thing. One party and it's members are standing for the continuation of your democracy, the other is well on the way to dismantling it. You folks have a clear choice in this election, you are not just choosing a government to steer your country through the framework set by democracy and your constitution. I would vote for a literal empty Oval Office for the next 4 years over trump. I would vote for Biden’s cold corpse over trump. People are not grasping the stakes of this choice on any meaningful level.
It's sad that Biden at 81 is slammed about age when clint Eastwood was still acting and directing at this age. I'm sure he would have been against anyone asking him to step down. He has done some of his best work in his twilight years
Choosing between Biden and Donnie is an easy choice. Donnie has no concrete policy solutions to the challenges that the nation faces. Donnie's competency in executing the duties of the Presidency is severely suspect, and in a potential second Trump administration there will be no 'adults in the room' to constrain him ( not to mention Donnie's grave ignorance of the limits of presidential authority ). The Project 2025 plan put forth by the Heritage Foundation - assembled by many former Trump administration zealots - is also extremely disturbing as it asserts a mutation of our republic into something unrecognizable, putting our system of checks and balances at grave risk. I'm voting for the Democrat candidate for President in November, whether it's Biden or not.
@@nicolasolton : there is only one terrible candidate, and that is Trump ( although Kennedy is also very bad ). Is Biden imperfect and flawed? Of course he is, but he is many orders of magnitude better than Donnie will ever be. As we've seen Donnie is just out for himself and has no skill in building consensus or negotiating over policy. Donnie will gladly sell out Ukraine to the Putin regime because he is such a fanboy of Vlad ( and Vlad knows it ). Even back in 2011 political observers were seeing how corrosive the Republican Party had become : "The Republican Party has become an insurgent outlier - ideologically extreme ; contemptuous of the inherited social and economic policy regime ; scornful of compromise ; unpersuaded by conventional understanding of facts, evidence, and science ; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition. When one party moves this far from the center of American politics, it is extremely difficult to enact policies responsive to the country's most pressing challenges." -- from "It's Even Worse Than It Looks" ( 2012 ) by Thomas E. Hey David, I’d like it if you followed up with one thing Eric from Denmark stated. You kinda touched on differences between Trump and Biden when it comes to support for our allies or lack thereof. Trump is not only the opposite of President Biden on this issue…he’s far from any president in history, Democratic or Republican. I think that point needs to be driven home. Sure they’ve all had policy differences that can be dramatic at times. But they never entailed bailing on our allies and compromising national security!
I still believe the rearranging President Biden’s to help him with all the traveling he’s been doing lately & not having with his cognitive decline. So why doesn’t everyone stop talking about it! So sick of it.
I work in Social Services with elder care and the care of people with mental health issues. Based on assessments I do continuously to ensure people living in facilities receive proper care I see the following: Biden seems to be having mild cognitive decline, and if it is true that he was sick on debate night, he really should have asked to reschedule the debate. Trump has some type of mental health/personality disorder- people with these illnesses can be VERY coherent at times, then the brain fails and they start saying strange things. That’s what I see in Trump. He may have bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder on top of his narcissist problem. One is having cognitive decline (Biden) and the other is mentally ill. Which do you prefer? 🧐
He said that Biden has staff who manage his schedule so that he does things during certain times of the day. That makes total sense. At 56 years old, I don’t really like to do anything important business-wise after 6:00 or so. I am tired, and my brain is tired. I don’t think that is a problem at all.
Good show. Question - why is it, do you think, that no one is covering the jabs that Biden *did* land during the debate? Specifically, I remember "Something snapped in you when you lost the last one," which I think was very direct.
Listen, Pres. Biden is the leader of the party. If you've trusted his judgement so far, also believe in his leadership. Vote Trump and throw Ukraine to the wolves, ultimately the fundamental stability of Europe will be undermined. Your Danish caller is right, there's genuine fear in Europeans who are actually paying attention.
Democrats are relatively consistent, but the last two Republican presidents have been extremely controversial in most of the countries of the world, including most of our allies. There used to be a relative bipartisan consensus on foreign policy, but now a lot of Republican politicians have politicized it. We have 450 million guns and a sizable percentage of people believe that any sort of minor barriers to buying them is one step short of totalitarianism. Large numbers of our population refuse to believe in human-induced climate change. We lead the way in crafting international treaties and then refuse to ratify them ourselves. We are quite strange, in my opinion.
The critic didn’t listen to the criticisms of the cognitive differences. The experts compared the two. You should have hung up on the caller and had them go back and listen.
I wanted Bernie, didn't get him. I was good with Hillary...first woman president, didn't get her. Thought Biden was to old in 2020 but have given him my total support. If they dump him now it will be a real stupid mistake and I've had it with them.

The consequences for handing the Ukraine to Russia are catastrophic - Nato without America is simply an empty shell. I agree completely with the caller from Denmark. The Federalistic Society and Heritage Foundation have worked for decades to bring about this distopian change of the country. Has nobody noticed this before? Biden has to step down.
