I worked for 1 year on the Disney Magic. I can say that a lot of people is doing it and they know that. They know who is doing but they cannot fire everybody that is doing this otherwise they would not have anyone onboard! So, I guess they fire you as a message/ warning to the others. You were just unlucky. But don't worry you can find something better. I quit the job because there is always something better

Dude, you broke the rules! Just accept it, take your lumps, and move on.. and dont do it again in the future. Tne reason its a big deal to Disney is because you did something you knew was wrong, so to them it speaks to the character of the employee. Broadband is limited and very expensive to provide outside of port, and it's something they provide to paying guests as an amenity. If half the crew are syphoning off the data connection, the throughput/speed drops and it ruins the experience for the paying guests, so while i think it sucks you got fired, and they probably could have been a little more lenient, on second thought, perhaps there was more too it than that? IMO, when an employee in a big corp like Disney gets fired for a seemingly small incident, theres using a laundry list of other things that contributed to your ultimate dismissal. Like maybe your manager was interviewed and your overall performance was taken into account, your general attitude towards your job, guests, the company itself, and they used the internet incident as the "reason" for ultimately dismissing you from your duties. There's usually more to the story than what we get from OP over social media, and there's also usually a certain lack of self-awareness involved in these "im the victim of an undeserved firing" stories as well.

Shitty news but as you said, new doors open when old ones get shut. I've gone through something similar, forced to give up something you like doing.. Keep your head up!
