My mind is worst enemy sometimes, I'm basically useless if something takes over my thoughts. And with news like this I'd be the same way. I also thought if I stayed healthy, exercise and I'd never have problems in the future. Our bodies/DNA let us know it's not just that unfortunately. Postive thoughts on your journey and for the best outcome.

I am sorry you have to think about your upcoming heart surgery. I had a quad bypass surgery and then found out during rehab they actually closed off as well. Believe it or not I have lived with this weak heart now for 16 years! So many days of thinking of when my heart would fail. Well after all this time and last year I found I have terminal cancer. Now I think about this day after day. Lots of pills just to control depression. You never know what your life will be like or end. 76 now and even in 1956 I survived polio but my dad did not survive through it all. As you can see you can survive a lot but it is the thinking about it all is the craziest part of it all. May your operation go well and you can continue to work on your cars.

my 2 daughter had full open heart surgery the fix a hole after 2 years of meds. 2 years ago so far she is doing great and the doctors where amazing scary a a father. I wish you all the best!
