I think General Lee explained in his last video why radar missiles still tracks even if radar locks to chaff. Missile itself looks for fastest moving target, chaff looks stationary so if you keep lock - even on chaff - there's chance for missile to track fastest jet in your radar cone.
That's his theory on it. The truth is it's a bug that Gaijin refuses to fix. IRL if your radar is fooled by chaff then the missile is too. The missile is focused on what your radar waves are reflecting off most, which would be the chaff. It's just a bug they don't know how to fix, and it gets them money by costing Players SL dying to it. So no reason to fix it.
@@honzavasicek it actually is, war thunder physics is nothing like real life and this bug comes from the error in duplication of local client's memory onto the server
@@Roncik01 its not bug... thats literally how sparrow works jesus christ. Only issue it that CWI cone is too big currently. Not to mention chaffs are too powerful atm, they shouldnt affect radar lock unless you drop absurd shit ton of them at once. As long as CWI points on enemy jet, missile will be guiding on doppler shift of that jet. Already D/E sparrows could do that. S530F is fked for example, it used range rate circuit to filter out chaffs and clutter and its missing in the game. Go and read nonnuclear delivery manual of REAL F-4 phantoms.... its literally written there and missile itself needs to be tuned by simulated doppler signal.
Planes are so much easier to grind than tanks or ships, it's unreal (Also the Aim-7s have this weird thing where they keep going for the plane even when the radar gets chaffed. It's technically a feature)
@@AreialAce84 if you dont have premium and work a normal job its not that unlikely, however if you have premium and quite a bit of time on the game then i fear for his stats xD
That would make it an ARH. It's not it's still a SARH meaning it needs the feedback from the guiding Radar. All of these theories are just that, theories. Looking for a reason why it happens instead of just facing the fact that Gaijin don't want to fix a bug. If your radar is focusing the CW on the chaff then the missile would be focused on it too
@@RedTail1-1 yeah... Thats plain wrong. There is literally no two way connection with radar in early fox1 missiles. Their seeker guides on reflected energy from CWI and uses own filtering. You literally had to wait 4 seconds after lockon before launch in F4s as analog aim7E been fed info and their speed gate was tuned for targets speed difference so it could guide. They were tuned by simulated doppler signal. What you just spewed there is utter nonsense. You should check 1F4E-34-1-1 nonnuclear weapon delivery manual and actually educate yourself before inventing bullshit.
@@RedTail1-1 I've never seen someone so confidently incorrect before. "These are just theories" No, they're not, we know how these work, just because you're too stupid to understand how the game works doesn't mean it's broken and needs fixing.
This is an amazing video, just as some constructive criticism though…make the audio transitions a little more interesting with another song that starts playing or making the song quieter. There were some points where I was missing the music. Your commitment for this video is crazy though!!!! Keep going bro!
AIM 7E/F is immune to chaff as long as you can hold lock even on the chaff. Of course half the planes that can take those missile just have god radars that are basically 0 chance to break lock anyway so most people don't notice that fun feature.
I know I'm late here, but if your radar missiles are only PULSE then they'll go for chaff, but if they're CW or SARH missiles then you can lock chaff after firing and the missile will still go for the plane
This guy ground out 2 tech trees in the equivelant of 5 days if i ground for 1 month on US army tree i would get from beginning of rank 4 (where i am) to maybe rank 5 somewhere. This is... impressive and also do a video of XM-1 Chrysler grinding USA Army in mininum time possible i need to see strats
The reason why missle still tracked without a lock is gajins poor depiction of PSIC radar mode which irl worked more like very narrow acm which could easily spoof rwr to not show any lock giving false safety to the target Most know aircrafts which used this feature were mirage F1 and tornado ADV both severely bastardised in other performance aspects as well
Hey, nice grind, hope you didnt burn out yourself, ive got a question though, i want to get high tier german aicrafts, i have the premium mig 21 sks ( a bit of a shit plane, but im not a good pilot myself) and i would like to ask you for a few tips, like if maybe i should drop the premium and just grind normal or smth, or atleast how to properly play the sks since i cant find any clips on that
honestly the spsk is not that bad. I have around 800 games in it my self, but not having flares does suck a bit. tbh just fly high as you shouldn't really face any BVR planes at 10.0 and just try to dive on to the su-25's and a-10s that are in the back. make sure to use your R-60's only when within 2,5km as this is where you will have the highest chance of getting the kill with em. other wise just try to play passively and don't get seen by the all aspect planes out there.
It seems so easy until you run low on sl and you have 3 planes researched but you can’t buy them to continue to the next tier so then your stuck and eventually stop playing the game
I wish I could play like you, I have the phantom II on the UK tech tree and every time I fly out I'm always shot down by a missile even if I cut engines and flair
@@Jerrycanooo I've decided to start using bombs and I'm getting better luck now, more so that I'm actually getting points and to level up, so hopefully I can love on soon but due to the bombing runs I'm doing I'm running into less people, so now I have better chances
to think I main japan and been playing it for years to unlock f16 and this guy does it less than a week. (ı didnt use any prem and all of my planes are spaded, even the T-2 and F-1)
the sparrow looks mainly at speed difference between you and your target, and since the chaff is basically stationary, a lot of times the missile stays tracking your initial target
That's Lee's theory. It's not the real reason. The reason is, it's a bug and Gaijin don't want to fix it. That is not how the Sparrow seekerhead works. The seekerhead works by honing in on what the Continuous Wave of the radar is reflecting off of most, which would be the chaff since the Radar is locked on to it. It's literally just a bug they refuse to fix.
I’m in top tier for tanks and have completed the ground tech tree for America, Britain, Germany, Russia, Italy, and France but I have just started to grind the air tech trees
just for your information, if you have 13x1000lb bombs in phantom or whatever, u can just drop 5 of them for a base and then the rest of it for other base, i usually bomb like that, i bring 13 bombs, 5-6 bombs each base, i usually get 2 bases bombed with a single spawn, and if the match win, you'll get around 9-12k RP i believe or maybe more but if youre using like premium phantom like EJ, F4S or F4J(UK), if u bombed 2 bases u'll get around 13-16k RP per match , but i just found out the new tactic for bombing or farming, use 248 Hydra , per base you only need around 85-100, you can actually destroy 2 and a half base per match, and again if youre using premium phantom and win the game, you'll get around 17k-22k RP per match, goodluck with the grind boys
and i usually only bring either 2 Sidewinders or 2 Sparrows for any free kills that i can get while getting back to the base to rearm, and if you already have like a gun like the F4EJ have and dont have to bring a gunpod for it, just bring full bombing payload i would say, because the vulcan is already powerful enough
aim7e using pulse mode or something like that, so until you disable lock, the missile will track 70% of time even it was locked on chaff but the missile shouldn't be fired on chaff, I have got many kills with 10+km in my f4e when 7e-2s were first came out. So just let the radar stay locked on chaff
glad you liked it. was'nt really all to inspired by martincitopants tbh(Good CC tho just dident know who he was until a month ago). Mostly internethistorian and finzar, maby some spiffingbrit in there asswell. :)
