You are a credit to your trade Ben, as a retired steel fabricator welder it warms my soul to know there are inspirational young men out there who take such pride in their work.... Happy 2023 to you and your Family.......
Possibly the best video you have made. I enjoyed the 2 part series. Straight to the point with no fluff. Good info with affordable new tool purchases on an affordable car.
This is good content, watching you tackle frame repair is an Art, completing the job and making the vehicle look OEM is what I always liked about your channel.
I love watching videos on frame pulling. I've had 16 years in a machine shop. Learned a lot about fabrication and welding. The gen three mustang I want to buy in the spring of 2023 premium performance pack is going to cost me about $40 to $45,000. I'm thinking about trying to rebuild a wrecked on. I've watched 23rd garage pull the frame rails. They look weak compared to a truck frame. I'd really like to see that machine pull a similar type of frame. If i do try this and it comes out good. I think it will become a new hobby for extra income. On a nother note. Mark, Paul a Brian from paint society have me convinced to try painting. Love your videos. Thank you.
Ben, you are an absolute master of framework! (It’s no wonder all of the other boys come to you to fix the really serious collisions)…..- Live long and prosper young man! 👍😊
true that and with the portable frame machine...it's obtainable. Even if a home gamer was going to re-build a vehicle, that frame machine still would be cheaper than paying someone else. Scott over at vehcor uses a forklift when he doesn't have access to the frame machine, that works too!
@@6.2Slomaro That's the sort of thing you could buy, use it for your one job, or two, then sell it and still be ahead of the game. I had to paint 50 sheets of plywood double sided. Home Depot wanted $300 a week to rent a sprayer + $200 clean charge. I could buy 1 for $395 so I bought it, used it for a month and sold it for $300.
Excellent job Ben! I cannot wait to see the next installment. Everything is going together. Just super super good. Thanks again for all your great videos this year, you are an inspiration to everyone who watches. Happy New Years to you, your family and friends. I will see you in the next installment.
I like the way you said you want to do framework more I like it can you show the finish project and then who takes it away from you any updated Workshop outside parts, what you bought what you sold it looks good 😊
I have been in the Collison Trade since 1983, it has come along way! I have kept up with all the changes over the years. I am impressed with you ability's and concern to do the job correct and building a safe repaired vehicle. If I can I recommend one thing, get yourself a belt grinder for removing spots weld on parts that are getting replaced and not reused, much faster than drilling.
All looking good so far, only thing I would say is make certain car is supported level both sides on 4 axle stands before welding anything into place. You could end up with a twisted body otherwise 👍
Fantastic work Ben, but look after your knees. Kneeling down directly on the concrete for long times will cause issues in later life. Please put something between your knees and the floor, work as much as possible on a table and sit on a stool when possible. Your health is your wealth. Have a very happy 2023!
It sure is....I personally would have liked to see him slide the pulling assembly left or right instead of tilting it, but hey it worked right? I went back to the previous video and it can slide left or right along the bar that gets clamped to the pinch welds.....
@@muskokamike127 I imagine keeping the base centered keeps the pulling (pushing) force centered on the monocoque. If it was slid back it would add more force to the rear clamp on the left rear side.
I couldn't do this. Wouldn't even know where to begin. Yet you just drive in and get it looking awesome. Only been a subscriber for about a month but already one of my favourite channels.
Mate i would check the turret (roof around the B Pillar as it looks to me that there is still damage there ) might be still in a bit at the top and when you pull it out it will open the door gap by that 1 mm that your after. And Happy New Year.
I see couple of issues with this way of repair. First I would recommend drill bits for spot welds. It helps a lot. 120deg V tip of normal drill is not ideal. Just quality of life thing. First issue I see is a way how car is supported. It sits on jack under floor and structural part of floor is removed. There is high risk of deformation of floor. It is also good idea to have a tool that grabs seal flange on A and C pillar to keep front and back connected. Second issue I have with a way how was replaced B pillar. It should be replaced as whole part. Not welded in middle. That could be done with older cars but not with high strength steel. Yes it takes more time as you have to remove headliner but you are doing it anyway to replace side airbag. Also its factory required way of repair.
Boy you doing stuff to that car I didn't realize could be done. You make an old man like me look bad. Not really,I look bad all by myself. That is very impressive work you're doing and I certainly enjoy watching. Happy New Year to all you guys.
Hey 2022 was awesome vtune , lots of great videos, and this young man makes his job look easy and we all know that's not true, as always make sure you keep your head up high because if it was easy everyone would be doing it and they are not. Lots of respect for ben.👍👍👍
I'm a panel beater from the early 90s and getting a car the same colour for parts with minimal touch ups doesn't get any better I would be counting my dollars if this was me back in the day. Thanks for the content
This is amazing. Man's a guru, proving that anything can be repaired if you have the proper tools, parts and knowledge. Fantastic and interesting video to watch! As others said, it's refreshing to see normal cars repaired back to stock look.
These type of repair is where you shine mate. Keep the various content and don’t get burned out on some crazy project, or at least stagger those properly Happy new year
well done ben! this is as enjoyable as those super car builds. more relatable and definitely shows your skills as a builder and craftsman! happy new year man!
Made some good progress! Hoping to see you finish this one us soon and maybe one more of these Nissans and get your yard cleaned up a little! Plus bring you in some income from these builds. Have an awesome 2023!
The frame looks so complicated with many layers, yet you handle everything with easy. Thanks for showing the mere normal people like me what fixing a body would involve. Sure takes a lot of work to make the crashed car look good, working well, and safe again
wow! that is really good work! will be like new when done happy new year Ben! all the best and yes i prefer to watch simple cars being repaired over supercars that 99% of people will never get their hands on.
Phenomenal job on this car so far, Ben. Brings back memories of my time in the body shop in the 70s and 80s. I started in Eastern Iowa as a combo body and paint tech. Then I moved to Colorado and discovered you're either one or the other. I could always land a job because I could do either one.
Your understanding of metalwork is masterful. The fact that you can accomplish so many steps in so few days all while documenting the process and editing the final work into this video is incredible. I hope you find an editor that can match your high standards so that you can delve even further into the process with us and take some of the load off. Keep up the awesome work and love the channel.
Never watched anything quite like this before. Fascinated by the way the donor part was cut to size; no tape measure involved, at least not in what was shown. Using original offcuts as guides is genius; similar to marquetry technique.
I am not a body guy. The results you achieved with the frame puller are impressive. However, you share many small techniques that can be learned quickly by a guy like myself. Your approach is exciting and fun to watch. Examples like using a larger drill bit when punching out rivets: I would not have done it this way before watching this. I also like how you show your decision process on picking the placement of the staggered joints on the B pillar. It all makes sense when I watch you do it. Thumbs up on the format of a relatable build series.
YOU KNOW WHAT?- I HEARD YOU SAY" I GOT THE REST OF THE PUZZLE, AND I THOUGHT YOU WAS JUST SAYING THAT! BUT AS I LOOK AT ALL THOSE PIECES - IT IS TRULY BUILD JUST LIKE PUTING A MODEL CAR TOGETHER. JUST LIKE THE TOY MODEL CAR, THAT YOU GLUE TOGETHER, WHICH ALSO COMES WITH -300 LITTLE PUZZLE PARTS, WHICH IS SOMETIMES A HEADACHE! I think everything in our lives is one BIG - puzzle ? YOU ARE A MASTER CAR BUILDER 👍I HAPPY NEW YEAR - YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 😀
You inspired me with that portable frame machine I'm into buying one myself, man i believe if you were in a pinch you could take empty coke can's and make a patch panel out of them outstanding.Happy New Year!
Looks great Ben, been watching for a long time and I have to agree with you. The framework and smaller projects are probably better for content. I like the big projects, do one once in a while, but the smaller stuff keeps your attention. I see you and your brothers all struggling with what to put out there for content, you're all very good at what you do but the bigger projects just seem to bog you down. Keep it simple and moving, you'll be happier.
Honestly its better with this solo POV style of shooting, you are killing it...! And congratulations for owning more Sentras than Sultans. Keep em Sentras coming 🧡 Happy new year Y'all.
Ben....you're a BEAST!! LOVE watching you do frame work and doing pulls with the frame machine. You're one of the best in the biz!! Thanks for the awesome vids!!
Great work Ben, have learned loads over the years from you, you know you're good because you makes it looks easy to do. Great inspiration for people wanting to fix their cars
nice to see down to earth guy building down to earth cars not like other online builders like g squad your keeping it real those guys need to come back down to earth
Nice work, nice explanation, nice frame machine. Only one problem, you not suppose to cut the inner crnter pillar. That part has to be replaced complete.
Brand loyalty in the shop translates to higher profits. Lots of Nissan, lots more parts. Cheaper cars get totaled with minor damage, buy a few , fix a couple and hustle the parts left over. If you have the space it's a winning business model.
Happy new year Ben, each time you start cutting I cringe but that makes me appreciate the results even much more. You great at this and I wish you and your channel all the best and reaching that million subs. ♥️🇿🇦👌🏾
Ben your more powerful to watch then the Goonsquad they would have chopped those pieces up signed them for sale. Your a stand up man that's not in it for only the money. You teach with every step your positive thinker and you know your stuff that incredible. Compared to the goonsquad there not sure of themselves with frame work you make it look so simple. I hope thexgoons get back to there stuff out of the house seen because there content is like yours cars and rebuilding what was broken. Not fixing houses. I love your channel and hope it blossoms this new year. A Happy 2023 new year to you and your family.
Been doing collision repair for 36 years overall not a bad job but the mistake he made was where he sectioned the b pillar Nissan does not allow you to section it there they want you to put the full piece in plus you never section within the seatbelt area
happy new year bro thanks again for the tip on the frame machine and i do agree with you about doing more simpler builds that most people could relate to but i may say that you could mix and match hi end builds with more common builds and that could boost up your channel so you dont loose the audience that like the bigger builds and projects just keep up uploading every week or twice a week if you can
Ahhh, don't sweat the small stuff. Some duct tape and spackle and you're good to go.LoL.Looks pretty close Ben.Great buys on the rides for combining. That frame machine will straighten it out in moments.Hope the New Year treats you well, and you're driving the 'Stang in no time.
I bought the same machine but haven't used it yet. The video is very informative! Pumped now to try it. I build mainly Hondas in Rossville near you. Would be interested in farming out some work if you're interested cause I can't fix them all by myself. I buy parts cars too. That's the best way to rebuild!
Amazing how you blow through all that bent up framing with such confidence. You have probably been doing this for years with your family and have great experience with this.
