"Imagine sending your 15 year old daughter out to LA to make it big......" Even without the rest of the sentence if you don't see something wrong with that, you're a crap parent.
@@BADLUCKCHARMyeah they probably could’ve got him to do stuff for their parties Imagine that for a video “building a Stargate with the special effects supervisor of Stargate “
These influencers just go cool I get to live with "friends" in a nice fancy million dollar house making money. When in reality those "friends" are their direct competition on RU-vid, TikTok or wherever. So inevitably someone is gonna screw someone over and the house proceeds to implode as a bunch of kids start sharing all the high school drama.
@@aethlred7380 saying another RU-vidr/Tiktoker is "direct competition" is very inaccurate - if they were selling products it would be so, but not in the attention economy. Just some clarification, but they definitely may get jealous of each other and their numbers
Imagine spending months in a house with a whole bunch of INTENSE personalities all trying their hardest to be "the one that made it", "the next big thing"
@6:23 "They even sprayed us with water from a water hose" - that sounds like a de-escalation from being physically assaulted. If you precede being sprayed with water by being physically assaulted and make the water sound bad, you really downplay what the physical assault was. 'They butchered Shelly with a machete on the front lawn and ate her still raw flesh. These guys are so rude, they've even sprayed us with water from their water hose'.
its not a secret that each member of a content house are out for themselves and have little professional regard for eachother. This obviously makes it awkward af.
OfflineTv is a good example of a "content house". You can tell their interactions are not cringe compared to the examples in this vid. Otv really feels just a bunch of friends creating content and not forced relationships to get that clout.
Yeah, I mean I think they had to be friends first before they are even considered to be part of the house also the main selling point of the group isnt them living under one house but them being fun
@@putnamehere3803 Plus I think wild people like Micheal Reeves just helps alot. You kinda need odd people and not generic streamer #34 in a house like that.
It's funny how they're called "content houses", yet most people with functioning brains have never consumed, if even heard of, their content. Who even are these people?
Monetizing your private life and almost all of your relationships sounds like hell. I’d never feel like I actually had a day off; I need separate spaces for working and relaxing.
The moment your home stops being a home and being an office you sleep in should be a dead giveaway especially when you live with fellow content creators. Also living with people you've only ever interacted with online is a recipe for disaster.
My boyfriend used to live in a music content house. Absolute disaster, trash everywhere, they got the bright idea of adopting cats so there was 4 cats worth of cat shit and piss without much of any cleaning the litter box. You walk in and are hit by the smell of ammonia, but I guess it covered the smell of smoke so pick your battles… There was a bunch of drama and people acting like they’d do better but that never happened.
@@lauren-fi8sc This sounds like a living arrangement 3 of my friends were in a couple months ago, almost to a T except it wasn't just for music. 4 people lived there: my bro, my homie and his girl, and this other dude who was friends with my bro and I gave him a chance but we're not friends with him now. Everybody there was young but all grown adults, young 20s. If you can fight and die in wars and vote, and are of age of legal reproduction, can buy alcohol (poison), that's adult enough for me. Anyway, yeah, 4 people living there, 3 people had to share 1 bathroom, 4 cats living there and the cat owners didn't clean the litter box, and they all smoked weed in the house. My bro and the other dude had jobs, but the dude we don't like was lazy and bad at his papa John's job and ended up quitting. He had a music studio room, so when he wasn't working, they planned to use it. I didn't live there, but I am the artist, PM4K. We made 1 song, and I didn't make any more with the dude because the mixing was trash and I would've done better mixing and mastering it. The volume was too low, it was a problem, he never fixed it so I never paid him. I also did not pay him because I don't believe his skill is up to par, he's not good at mixing rap, and he wanted me to have him produce my beats but the guy could not produce. He produced before, but as for beats for me, he couldn't even produce 1 beat, he was unproductive. How do you want to be my producer but you won't even produce a beat? And he tried to charge me a bunch of money just to record and make songs, which is normal, but that's NOT normal when he knows I can do all that by myself and I have all my own equipment so I never needed him or anybody else to do it. It's like he wanted me to pay him to do things I already do myself. He wasn't worth his rates. My friends all moved out and ditched him and I helped them move because he was stealing money from them in the rent on the down low and surprised them with news the house was getting sold soon and somebody had to come inspect the house.
This is advanced torture they should use against suspects. Don't wanna talk? Alright, you'll be begging to talk when we put you in the Influencer Chamber
HOLY SHYYYT RYAN THE LION, I USED TO COMMENT ON ALL YOUR TIKTOKS MONTHS AND MONTHS AGO MAKING FUN OF YOUR HAIR!!! GLAD TO SEE UR DOIN GOOD BUDDY!!!!!!!
I think the fact that these "influencers" are incredibly uncreative in the first place is one of the main reasons. There is only so much garbage you can make before you run out and then there is no reason to be near each other anymore.
I think Charlie's neighbors who always wore white and had masks were actually members of a religion called Jainism. Jainism is this really old Asian religion and some of the more devout followers will wear white clothes and white masks. Jains also sweep the ground a lot in front of them to sweep any small animals or bugs out of their paths (cause a principal of Jainism is not to hurt any living thing). Charlie said that they were always sweeping the driveway which sounds like a very normal behavior of the devout Jains.
I think the idea of avoiding hurting even bugs and small animals is very sweet, but I also feel like you're going to squish a lot of them if you shove them aside with a broom.
Yeah that got tried and the end result was a lot of rape. You’d need to explicitly ban anyone Who is a fan of smash bro’s. Maybe make that a law like how pedophiles can’t be near schools.
The tattoo at 4:00 is very similar to patterns on skin if someone got struck by lightning. Usually it reveals the veins which results in the "tree-like" structure. That's my speculation on what that is
Turns out Jeff Okun is a pretty successful visual effects producer. He's surpervised visual effects for plenty of films such as Stargate, The Last Samurai, Deep Blue Sea, and Die Hard 2. According to IMDB, he even inspired Dr. Okun in Independence Day. Sounds like a total lad.
I lived with a cosplay influencer once and it was the worst experience of my life. She would hide cleaning supplies from me, deny she ever touched them, then tell thousands of people that I don’t clean enough, with added fake stories. Expected me to fund her shopping addiction, and pay her rent for six months so she could afford to buy a house. And who is everyone gonna believe the famous girl pretending to be a victim, or the girl no one has heard of. I will never live with an influencer again
For the dark tree tat you saw on the guys arm…it isn’t a tree it lightning. When people get hit my lighting sometimes it kill the cells on there arm and it makes a lighting shaped scare and someone thought it was cool so they got a tat of it
I read from a textbook by definition a influencer is someone who has more than 10 000 followers. So why is it funny when a influencer calls themself a influencer
There are a few "content houses" that are good and what sets them apart from the others is that the people in the good ones actually like each other as opposed to people only trying to make money.
Alisha marie had an unofficial content house and I feel that's what made it perfect. They were all roommates who worked together in the entertainment industry and yet stayed pretty much independent when it comes to their finances and etc. Everyone has moved out but it was nice to see them all enjoying themselves while creating content
The people he was talking about were most likely believers of Santeria. Basically, Santeria is a weird kind of Christian voodoo cult, doing all sorts of weird rituals. My dad dated a Santeria girl once, he walked into her house and her mom was cutting off a chickens head and when my dad went to dip (because of course he did) she said “wait no don’t leave it’s starting” and he said “I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS STARTING AND I DONT WANT TO KNOW”. The last time he was with her, he walked into her house for I think it was her cousins birthday and every single jar on the walls (they had a bunch of shelves of jars lined across each wall) immediately fell at the same time, right when he walked into the room. He took that as a sign from god to get the hell out of there.

There is always the 2 or so creators you care about, the ones you will enjoy their presence but don’t care about, the ones you don’t care about and 1 or 2 that you actively hate. It’s all the same no matter what.
Honestly, I’m so far removed from TikTok and all that crap I’ve never even heard of these places. I’d like to thank all the brave men and women who took my place and had to go through the terrible experience of watching these garbage shows. You the real heroes
@@therealmrj1 i always found comments like op inherently amusing cause of what people like you said. Like as shit as any social media site can be, isn’t what you’re saying more or less true for 90% of social media sites anyways. Like the ability to curate your space and follow things that appeal to you is pretty basic feature most sites have right? (Like I’m genuinely asking idk)
Same, the fact that I’ve heard of none of these groups except for the older ones like faze or team 10 shows that I’ve done a good job at avoiding todays latest youth culture bullshit. I recently deleted my Instagram which was my only social and I think that was a good choice, I only used it for memes
@@theradionicrevival8068 NO ONE cares about whatever question youre "asking" ... But can you NOT type the word " like" ? You dont know how to speak or something? Charlie just told us the reason he always wears a white t shirt. He is subconsciously traumatized by his crazy neighbors who dressed in all white. Deep. Very deep.🤔
Charlie stumbled into a crack den but he likes the wifi connection there, so let's just leave him alone and respect his sacrifices for better video quality.
Sidemen, AMP, OTK and 2Hype are some of the few content “houses” that lasted more than a year. Something they all have in common is that they were already friends and individually successful before creating a group
I remember the COD Zombies RU-vidrs did a content house, but they did it for only a certain amount of time, made a special event out of it, and they're all friends before going in, not only a work relationship.
Amusing aside: Jeff Okun was one of my professors at film school, and was one of the biggest names in SFX through the mid-90s, working on flicks like Stargate. Can confirm that he’s a total sweetheart, which makes this situation all the more tragic.
I was scrolling to see who recognized him. I don’t care who you are, when you spend a ton of money on a home the expectation is that this kind of thing won’t be happening next door. I feel so bad for them. It’s basically Neighbors in real life.
stick a bunch of narcissistic people in one house with the expectation for them to charade a young, hot, energetic and picturesque social media life together all day everyday? what could go wrong
There was a great book called “Killer Content” and while it’s obviously not that extreme it does give a decent kind of idea into how it is and what can go on. Would really suggest it
A "resident mom" would really help maintain the houses, someone needs to make sure things are clean, neighbors are being respected, and above all, everyone is safe!! Ideally over the age of 30, and not trying to scam barely legal adults
Yea, that’s what I tried to do. But today, everyone is a professional victim. So imagine a bunch of kids with a huge platform decide they don’t like the house mom’s rules anymore - they pick a narrative (maybe given to them by a reporter or a behemoth talent agency) and then you’re screwed. If you fight back against the kids who lied - you’re a petty, weird adult and if you stay quiet, your business is destroyed and you get the reputation of being a scammer. This experience trying to help these kids was traumatic.
@@Influences Missus that's just you copy-pasting the format of what happened to you onto this situation which might be completely different, it's clearly haunting you so I would advise to sort it out and maybe get therapy
@@katzea.a7880 trust - there’s been a lot of therapy. Mainly I feel I should respond when an account w 10.5M followers reviews a video that dunks on me based on lies. :)
"Most content houses probably fall because all the residents get tired of each other." Yeah no shit! It's a house full of 2 dozen or so obnoxious mouth breathers. I'm honestly shocked none of these content houses ended with someone trying to smother their roommates in their sleep!
Literally went to school with the kids from Drip Crib. They beat their girlfriends. One time, they actually took one of their girlfriends phones for simply talking to one of my friends and broke it on the cafeteria floor. These are real case studies in narcissism. Glad they no longer have a platform, and are on RU-vid making rap songs that get 60 views.
The 2% of content houses that work are always a group of friends that actually care about each other if these people just got to know each other i guarantee it'd survive
@@rwandanstarbux1494 Is that really a “failure” though? That’s probably the best successful outcome if they all left on good terms. I haven’t watched them though so pls clarify
@@RetroCube They didn’t “fail” it is just that they were all in different situations, some had school, some diverted from COD Zombies and went to other games, others just wanted to go back home. They were seriously one of the only creator houses that worked.
This whole idea just leaves me incredulous. Like I said before, if these people are claiming to be "just kids", then where the hell were their parents? This whole thing just screams "bad idea" to me, and there were so many obvious signs, so did their parents have anything to say? On top of that, what brand deals did they think they were going to attract with their actions? Like... who is going to care about your parties? They weren't actively making anything, so what's the incentive for a brand deal? You have to show value to make money, but no one had a proper plan. It should have been obvious that they were going to get hosed.
Man if you're like 16 and know basically zero about business or really money in general, suddenly get famous and get told you're somehow special for doing shit on the internet, and someone makes you what seems to you like a dream offer (that your parents are just cool with it apparently), are you really gonna say no? I won't make excuses for a lot of their actual behavior, but in the cases that they're actually literal children (not just young-ish adults people are trying to shift blame off of) its still pretty fucked up to take advantage of them I think
How is this any different from every RU-vidr in 2011 being fucked over by Machinima? Everyone posts for years hoping to get bigger and when someone offers you more opportunities and brand deals (or you think they do) you want it to be real so bad that you won't hesitate. To be honest I've also skipped reading on many of my contracts as a freenlancer.
Most are not just kids. Being 18 is a legal adult and most were 21+. They are blaming normal adult life on their laziness and most are extremely ungrateful.
Van Gogh tried to make a content house, only had Paul Gauguin because his brother wanted to keep an eye on him, and was so destructive, argumentative and unpredictable that they fought constantly and stopped living together very quickly So yeah sounds about right
How inconvenient about how content houses fail because influencers get tired of each other and can't bear to be a group or clan anymore, usually because of EGO.
being around these people sounds absolutely exhausting like millions of followers and flexing with rich shit is not a replacement for an actual personality. nobody wants to be around someone who talks nonstop about work, imagine living in a content house where every resident has tried to commodify every ioata of their existence.
It’s essentially a business relationship, not genuine friendship, plus can’t imagine staying with other self-centred people having to live fake lives for the audiences
Content houses make you realize how psychotic and selfish content creators can be. I am lucky I got out when certain incident made me realize there is a high possibility I might get murdered just becus I was chill and lot closer to normal. Hence why I quit being a content creator and pursue other endeavors
What’s crazy is that all the kids in that content house would kill to have your sub count. You provide lots of people with entertainment and for the most part merely do it from your desk. You never had to do stunts or make an utter fool of yourself. Bravo to you sir.
I think the only content house I've heard that isn't inherently a scam would be Offline TV for the most part. Could be wrong but they seem to be pretty open and honest about shit that happens.
The ZHouse were chill too, 5 Call of Duty zombies RU-vidrs just living inas house and having fun. This was 2016 too, so it was at just about the end of the golden age of RU-vid.
The tree tattoo was always just the first thing that pops up when you google something like “cool guy half sleeve”. So when everyone hit 18 or found some dude to tag them in their kitchen, they went for the tree.
I miss old-styled content houses where they were just a bunch of dudes who made lets play videos together. Creaturehub was a good example even with the way it ended.
"Ur mom's house" is an influencer house doing it well. They operate individual businesses as friends and the content house acts as only a physical location. No sharing model. Colin and Samir made a great video about content houses as well.
