As someone who had to be a leader for projects, my biggest reason I don't want to is way way too much responsibility and it's mentally taxing and draining.

Interesting that they use the Spartan emblem for AlphaCon when (1) Spartan women were basically seen the same as Spartan men apart from the childbearing part (not to forgot Sparta was intensely ableist but that's a story for another day), (2) Spartan warriors were the opposite of "alphas", they were to follow in service without question, (3) most of the Spartan army were slaves, anyway, (4) Sparta specifically did not have a system of a single leader, (5) Sparta rejected the concepts of democracy and personal wealth.
