I HATE KIM?!? - Miraculous Ladybug S5 E14 REACTION - Zamber Reacts 

We will have a one week break from Miraculous Ladybug as I am watching them as they premier in English Dub on Disney Channel US. I will still be uploading a video about Miraculous on June 13th, but the next 'reaction' will not be posted until the following Tuesday! :D

I think the sweetest think about that flashback is how Socqueline is the reason Marinette wears pigtails to remember what she taught her😭

Kim's dark side being showed in this episode was not sudden. We have already been showed that he can get quiet cruel when he takes his pranks and taunts too far. I mean, he caused Ivan's first akumatization. Also, Zamber, did you notice that Kim was the only one of Marinette's allies who she didn't choose? Kim was chosen by Master Fu. That was also a clue for her trauma. However, I am glad that Kim had come to learn about the wrongs of his actions and decided to become a better person. I mean, despite his cruel pranks, his naivity and inability to perceive the pain caused by his pranks, he is actually quite a lovable goof and a loyal friend.

Not Chat being way more comfortable with straight up Killing people after Cataclysming one person.

This episode in a nutshell Adrien-“you’re an irredeemable monster” Chloe-“what took you so long? Idiot!”

I was so proud of Adrien in this episode!!! He saw his girlfriend was in distress, took things slow and easy with her, assured her it was alright if she needed time and would still be there for her, was patient, defended her, and finally ended things with Chloe! I mean, he did go overboard nearly Cataclysming Kim as revenge for hurting Marinette. He’s such a good boyfriend though! He’s so patient and understanding with Marinette!

9:20 - 9:26 I love the death glare the otherwise sweet and empathatic Adrien gave Kim upon hearing what he did. He immediately went into 'protective boyfriend' mode and I love it. ❤

This is an episode where the show got way too real. I've never experienced bullying, but anyone who suffers through it daily has my deepest sympathies. That detail of Marinette being afraid to go to school because of Chloe hit me hard. School can be a place you don't like to go, but it should never be a place you dread to go.

I actually love how Zamber instantly figured out that she has PTSD from the pool

It’s no surprise that Kim isn’t that bright, but _man_ did they make him dense in this episode. You’d think after Dark Cupid, he’d be aware that what he did was wrong. I am glad that Adrien cut ties with Chloe. He’s given her plenty of chances and refused to change. All that’s left is for Sabrina to wise up.

I love how Kim's akumatized forms have the most colour changes.

8:20 it was at this moment, Zamber had a big epic rush of flashback from all the reactions she had of Miraculous where she poked a little fun at Marinette’s character quirk of over-planning to the last detail and realized “Oh Gosh what have I done?!” At least we all know where Marinette gets her quirk from and it was just a defense mechanism borne from the trauma caused by Chloe and Kim. I just hope Chloe gets what’s coming to her, because that spoiled attitude is going to bite her back hard. Also girl swimmer’s name is Ondine (On-Deen for phonetic pronunciation)

Just when you think Chloe can't be more despicable than she already is....😤

Just to be clear, this episode is not intended to justify or excuse what Marinette did, it simply informs us of what happened that lead her to make such a choice, a choice she learned over time was not her best course of action and was something she learned overtime was wrong and had to give it up. It was established since season 1 that Marinette was severely bullied by Chloe for years, but people didn't really want to think to what extent, well, it was to the point when Marinette had little to no self confidence. Unlike the years before, the reason we don't see chloe go to such extremes to bully Marinette now, is because Marinette learned to stand up for herself and defend herself. When Marinette started dating Luka, she didnt need to be as cautious with him because he had no connection to Chloe, and because she got to know him better under more normal means and ultimately realized he would always be there for her (Heart hunter for example). But with Adrien, its different as she is getting to know him past the image of perfection she always imagined him as, and was advertised as. For Marinette, there were things about Adrien she didnt know yet, like how she discovered he hated being a model, and it was precisely the fear of the unknown that made her doubt Adrien would actually consider her over his childhood friend, who was ironically chloe,. Back in "Ephemeral", Marinette was able to accept Adrien much more easily because she realized that no matter what she went through, Adrien really was always there for her from the very beginning, as Cat Noir. But now, its different since they dont know each others identities. Adrien built his trust with Ladybug, but he doesnt have that same trust with Marinette just yet, so its harder for her to accept that she can love him without fear of what wrong could happen.

Remember, Kim was crushing on Chloe all the way back in Dark Cupid, and that's how he got akumatized the first time. He's also been a bit of a bully in the first season, even if he wasn't usually that bad. Seasons 2-5 is where his bad qualities were mostly ignored.

Curiosity: Marinette currently wears pigtails to remember Socqueline and create courage to face Chloé

Chloe: "traitor.." also Chloe: got akumatized willingly many times on previous seasons

To think that eight-grade Chloé was even worse than ninth-grade Chloé is really surprising. But I guess that, after Marinette was able to stand up against her after becoming Ladybug caused Chloé to lose her favorite target. But one thing Miraculous does well is to show that not everyone is willing to change their ways. I mean, yeah, everyone can change, but not everyone is willing to change and Chloé has no reason to change. She has everything she wants whenever she wants and she can get away with her actions because her father is the mayor and he spoils her. For Chloé to really want to change, she would need to lose everything and hit hard bottom, and even then it would all depend on the influence she would have over her, being it good or bad.

Also regarding Kim, he used to be kinda insensitive before. Remember it's because of him that Ivan got akumatized in Origins, and he didn't notice Ondine's feelings for him either. He's not an outright bully, but he has zero idea of where the limit stands and ends up hurting people. He got a little better when he became King Monkey (note that just like Chloé, he didn't get chosen by Marinette to get his even if she gives it back to him later on), but he's still got a lot of progress about being a better person to make, a lot to learn to avoid falling deeper into the stuff he let Chloé make him do.

Omg!! This episode is so cute! The fact that Adrien is so inlove is that so adorable! The fact the is protective of Marinette and that he is patient with her!! It's soooo cuteeee ❤❤❤

I like how the flashback scene looks like a pilot episode.

I still like Kim. Kim seems like the ignorant innocent kind of person. Chloe took advantage. Blame her. Not Kim. Also I love the part when Adrian finally ended his friendship with Chloe. I was surprised the first time.

Imma say it now, Socqueline was done dirty by Marinette. She was never mentioned or even gotten a visit from Marinette until this season which seems to take place almost about a year after the events of the flashback. This is the same girl who literally got basically expelled from school for Marinette and girly couldn’t even shoot her a text from time to time? Her character felt so similar to Alya in this episode and it really just makes it seem like Alya was this replacement for Socqueline during the next school year. To think back on everything that Alya and Marinette went through together and it makes me feel kinda bad that Marinette basically just forgot about her other friend, Socqueline once she left the school. What’s even sadder is that we literally see that Socqueline’s biggest dream is to be just like Ladybug and be a superhero as well, and Marinette doesn’t even stop and consider giving her one of the other miraculouses. If I were Marinette, Socqueline would probably be one of the first people I gave a miraculous to knowing what’s she’s done for me in the past. But no, instead we just hand out the miraculouses to all of the classmates, many of which Marinette doesn’t even seem all that close with either, especially Sabrina who was seen to be joining in on the bullying with Chloe during the last school year and at the start of the current school year. And after seeing what Kim has done in this episode, idk why Marinette would’ve ever given him the monkey miraculous back. I know Master Fu originally picked him but if I were Marinette, I’d never give Kim back a miraculous after that first time when he initially used it. Honestly, can we just take the monkey miraculous now and give it over to Socqueline or Ondine (Kim’s gf)? They would make much better heroes imo!

This was a very interesting episode to understand more of their past. Specifically Marinette perspective.

This episode showed us that Season 1 Chloe, is actually an improvement over her past self

I think Chloe might still get a “redemption”, except it’s very likely that it will take a very long time, until possibly the end of the entire show. Ultimately Chloe did do a lot of bad things in the shows beginning, so the writers might of felt that being Queen Bee wasn’t truly going to make Chloe a better person. Instead for Chloe to truly be redeemed she might have to lose connections with people using her as just a tool for their own plans (Ex. Hawkmoth and Lila) and also realize the consequences of her actions and actually try to be a better person (kind of like what Kim was saying near the end of this episode, perhaps that was the show trying to tell us what it will take for Chloe to change). Anyways great reaction! Can’t wait to see what comes next in the show!

This episode definitely explained so much about Marinette. It was quite shocking to see Adrien purposely trying to kill someone. I think this is the first time? Anyway, great for him for breaking up his friendship with Chloe. You can only give so many chances to a person.

I think they laid it on a bit thick when Marinette announces how she'll never love a boy again until she knows everything about him, when she basically starts listing off all the things she'd find out about him. Sometimes less is more. But I do love and appreciate how her quirk of her brain melting any time she "talked" to Adrian, which was just starting to get a little annoying with recent developments, suddenly now has this tragic element to it. Trauma isn't easy to get over, even if you know the source of it and have lots of support. Also, remember how badly Marinette freaked out when she almost kissed Adrian, thinking he was just a statue? This episode really shines a new light on that.

I cant believe he is still in love with Chloe Even though he has a girlfriend.

This episode broke me so hard because of all the suffering Marinette went through with Chloé and I hate Kim so much, poor Marinette 😢

Agh, the flashback was a lot to take in and I wasn't expecting that, not gonna lie!!! Plus, with the ending, I got a weird Chloe feeling that Chloe is going to squeal on Adrien to his dad about Adrien breaking their friendship.

Adrien was ready to murder Kim: Litterally XD But one thing that I did find interesting is that when Adrien does get angry he ends up resembeling his father in multiple ways in mannerisms/speech. That may just be me but I think it is interesting. Espessially when it comes to someone his loves and everything. lol

16:35 I dont think people understand that those good moments we saw Chloe have in previous seasons, were simply just moments where Chloe was willing to do and say the right thing, but this never meant she wanted to uphold the lessons the heroes (and others) taught her in her day to day life, which is why we always saw Chloe revert back to her original personality near the end of an episode or the next one after that. There was no redemption planned for Chloe, the people who work on the show said a bunch of times that some people just missed a lot of details revealing her unchanged personality and future downfall.

That would explain Marinette’s personality. Both good and bad parts. Chloe’s pranks on her in 8th grade made her the clumsy girl around Adrien that we know, but Socqueline is who made Ladybug. Protecting Marinette from Chloe and the hairstyle makes sense.

The episode we didn't ask for bc we never knew we needed it. Everything makes sense now, even the fact that Marinette was not the one who gave Kim the monkey Miraculous, it was Fu! I cried a lot the first time I watched it, Adrien is just perfect, I wish someone like him existed irl, he makes her feel so... safe, and I also liked that Marinette was still not completely over his fears yet, it is a process. This is my favorite episode of the season when it comes to writing. (My favorite one in general is Emotion for this season up to now).

I find it kinda amusing that Marinette's failed akumatizations are "getting closer" each time In both Zombizou and Chameleon, the akuma was sent out because of her emotions, but she was able to calm down in each case; then there was Ladybug, where a scarlet akuma entered her bag and she was named as Princess Justice, but obviously Gabriel had to call it off; now in season 5, we see Elation, where she makes it through the entire Monarch speech, and even reaches for her earrings as the music swells. I think she was probably closer then than she was in this episode, but in both cases, Monarch did get to finish his introductions lol

To be fair about Adrian being willing to cataclysm Kim, he did cataclysm Monarch earlier this season and knows that hes still kicking, so Adrian might be under the impression it just really, really hurts. Not, you know, causes some sort of crawling rot over the person's body

I feel like people are acting too much like Kim has become irredeemable or character was assassinated or suddenly changed, but the truth is, Kim actually started having some self assessment and willing to change in the end, especially when Ondine was able to call him out and set him straight, not to mention he was still remorseful for what Dark Humor did and Honestly Kim was still himself, but he's just that thoughtless idiot who had trouble seeing how his actions may have been harmful to others, and as mentioned above, he is *ACTUALLY SHOWING THAT HE IS WILLING TO CHANGE AS OPPOSED TO CHLOE WHO AIRS ON THE EXACT OPPOSITE*

Chole: I don't need you, i have money

You can guess it, but according to the Miraculous secret cards, Marinette wears her hair in pigtails to remind herself a friend who left school. Said friend being Socqueline, and you can see it carries on when Marinette becomes Ladybug (as opposed to Adrien's hair changing when he's Cat), because Socqueline is Marinette's vision of a person who acts for good, just like how Alya inspires her.

It feels like they cranked Kim's and Chloe's bad qualities up to 11 in this episode like they weren't this bad, more so with Kim but even with Chloe like she puts roaches in her locker and tried to make her an outcast like what

The disgust in your voice when you said "girl... I would not.. touch him" lmao. This episode does feel really retconned but I do like all that it added, the writers behind it really did what they could with what they had. Marinette copying her pigtails from Soclean because she looked up to her was cute, seeing Rose used to have longer hair too was cool, I love that they took the time to try to age down some of the models. It's also cool how chat being feelings on his sleeve overdramatic lovesick jokester did not mix well with ladybug. And how marinette was surprised when he told her he was in love with ladybug for real. Chloe needs to lose everything before she can get her shit together imo. I hope Sabrina comes to the realisation that she deserves better and that following Chloe won't protect her. Anyway lol chat noir attempting to murder, I love how unhinged he gets to be. Its how he keeps his patience when his life is falling apart. He deserves his meltdowns. Deserves more meltdowns even. He is also due a panic attack I'm sure it'd make him feel better. Anyway I love buggachats comic where chat says he's being so hard on dark cupid because he pranked chat's gf with bugs instead of jewelry and ladybug going oh my god Kim how many girls did you do that to! 🤣🤣🤣

THIS EPISODE MADE KIM SO BAD LIKE I HATE IT, KIM WOULD NEVER THEY JUST SLANDERED HIM SO BAD AND I HATE IT😭 Season2-4 Kim would never, they just did this for a reason to explain why Marinette plans everything. Im glad he apologized and realized he was wrong but still, its gonna take him actually showing hes making an effort to change for me to believe him. Also he still said Chloe was hot infront of his gf and didn't apologize for that🙁

I really like Chloe has an antagonist. She is a great character.

Chloé has been a straight-up 'bully to all living things' since Season 1, that's nothing new. However, usually, she's either the 'spoiled rich brat that abuses their privilege' kinda bully or practicing verbal abuse (which, don't get me wrong, is still a horrible kind of abuse that has caused actual suicides in real life). This episode however showed that she, arguably, used to be even worse really scraping at that border to psychological torture. To me personally, this hit a lot closer to home than I was comfortable with...

Kim is a jerk for no good reason in this episode. He wasn't a bully except in season 1 and 2, in 3 and 4 he was a nice guy and friends with the others. Now he's laughing at Marinette because Chloe told him to? Since when he listen to her? His attitude makes no sense! I wished his girlfriend got the akuma out and saved him, not Ladybug. Also, if Kim appologises; i'm sure he wasn't sincere. He probably just did it so Mari can feel better not because he realised his mistake and horrible attitude 🙁

We gotta love how they suddenly retconned Chloe to be worse than Satan ever since the beginning, when Origins shows Mari being annoyed at Chloe back then, not scared, and how often did she get down to this before the current seasons? Thomas hates a character having a potentially good arc.

A morbid thought I had watching this episode is what if Marinette drowned because of Kim's and Chloe's prank, wouldn't she had changed then?

Im still angry that they make Kim a jerk for no reason. I get he's a jerk in the past, but he had been humiliated by Chloe and even happy when she left in Malediktator. It'd be much better if he got akumatized bcs he's angry at Chloe instead of still praising her IN FRONT OF his gf But of course, they need to make more Angry Noir

Couple thoughts: The Adrianette stuff is far more solid and sweet than it has any right to be With all the senseless hate in this fandom, it's nice to finally get an appropriate outlet in Kim It feels like this big flashback could have come earlier in the series. It justifies some of Marinette's behavior as a trauma response, but it also further invalidates Chloe's attempted S2-3 arc. As it is now, especially with the latest episodes, if Chloe doesn't end up in prison or Arkham Asylum, there'll be problems This episode got me so confused that I actually researched the French school system Adrien was a total boss from beginning to end, his quite rage at Kim, him exploding with anger as Chat Noir, his understanding of Marinette's struggle and finally cutting ties with Chloe

This episode have become one of my favourites 😊

I think the reason a lot of this seemed to come out of ko where is because they really wanted us to hate Chloe, and because they wanted to explain why Marinette was so cautious and nervous in confessing or being around Adrian.

I'm still mad at Kim, but I don't think he meant to be cruel. I don't know if he's autistic or not, but he's definitely low-empathy, and he definitely doesn't understand social cues. Not excusing what he did, just trying to understand him.

My hate for Chloe just multiplied by a thousand.

This episode accomplishes nothing but make us hate Kim. Like why, why do they do this. what did we accomplish here besides making us hate a character for no f-ing reason.

This series has a bit of a habit of taking characters that the creators don’t want you to like, and ratcheting it to 11. First it was Chloe with her dropped redemption, that there now leaning hard into. And now Kim. I mean Kim was always kinda a doofus before. Bug this episode makes him seem so stupid you wonder how he functions. Going that far with you’re “prank,” to the point you traumatize someone. And still insist you did nothing wrong. And still pinning for Chloe in front of your new girlfriend?! Isn’t Chloe the same girl that rejected you’re valentine’s gift, broke you’re heart, and posted it for everyone to see? Or are we forgetting that that even happened? 16:59 Ah yes Zoe, basically the replacement Chloe.

At the end, Sabrina wasn’t glaring at Adrien. She was glaring at Chloe, because Chloe basically called her a doormat one of the subtle clues to her redemption arc.

If Undyne is sticking to Kim, at least she might keep him in line. Not that that should be expected in a romantic relationship. Also, I know fans are probably sick of "Chloe is irredeemable," but this did give a contrast with Kim being a dope.

Marinette's personal type is someone who's funny and cute (like Kim and Chat Noir), but after that stupid prank, Marinette completely stayed away from people like them and easily fell for someone opposite to that type of person (Adrien). Notice how Marinette met Chat Noir first but still fell for Adrien (despite Chat being funny and cute). That's because she still has the PTSD from Kim and Chloe. And in the season 2 episode Glaciator, she was shocked to find out that Chat really does like her (the fandom was so mad at this, but now that we know, it makes sense). And when she finally fell for Chat, it seemed out of place and felt rushed (it probably was) but in this context, Marinette's initial type of guy is someone like Chat Noir. Marinette does not really love Adrien that much. She was more obsessed than inlove, but she still has feelings for him. In season 4, we saw that Adrien was starting to loosen up (making jokes like in Guiltrip). He was showing more of his silly side, and made Marinette love him more.

I feel bad for Marinette. When she had those panic attacks I got scared for her.

You would be suprised to know how cruel children can be. People who i thought were my friends in summer camp peed into a cup and spilled it on my bed also stole my id and hid it so my mom got really mad. Its been like 6 years and i still find it hard to trust people.

If Cat Noir knew her secret identity, he would have been more angry because it's Kim fault , Ladybug doesn't take Cat Noir seriously until recently because he 's a jokester like Kim .

Your hair looks amazing, I hope Kim will later on do something to make up for this traumatic prank, but I doubt they will because he's a side character usually

Kim probably had feelings for Chloe cause he probably sees her as a prank queen after this episode with Marinette since he’s clearly clueless.

I actually just did my own reaction to this episode recently and I've been dying to see Zamber's reaction. This episode has genuinely made me hate Chloe and Kim and made me feel so bad for Marinette and Soqueline. Neither of them deserved what happened to them. Also, I believe that Chat Noir constantly coming close to cataclysming someone is hinting towards him becoming Chat Blanc in the future.

i hate the complete wipe of Chole's redemption... literally no reason for a red penguin if you're not gonna do anything with it. i don't know why the writers chose to completely kill off "good chloe". i believe zoe is just a cheap fast way to get a new bee miraculous holder (because as we know Thomas hates chloe) if zoe was really integral to the story, i'm sure we would've heard about her before.

Honestly I lowkey hate how they threw away chloe's depth and everything she could be just because Thomas stopped liking her, and now they are treating this 14-15 year old as the evil of the world and a creature of doom, and she isn't even a big villain???? She had much more potential

A little detail I actually noticed that maybe not even the creators thought about: When Kim first got the monkey miraculous, it wasn’t Marinette who gave it to him, but master Fu. Actually, Kim is probably the only one in the current superhero lineup that Marinette didn’t first approach. And now with this revealed, it makes me wonder if she actually would’ve ever given him the miraculous

DO A VIDEO RANKING ALL MIRACULOUS CHARACTERS!!!!!

So this episode explains Marinette's reason for her stalking tendencies it was just a misguided attempt to make sure she has a good boyfriend who can do her no wrong and all because of that brat Chloe who manipulated Kim into pulling a prank on Marinette. It may not be an excuse but it does properly explain so it's understandable and shows that it's not Marinette's fault that she was like that. Still, ya should've seen characters like Eddy (Ed, Edd n Eddy), Christopher Aonuma (Digimon Fusion), Miku Izayoi (Date A Live), and Rinne Berlinetta (ViVid Strike!) they were a lot worse than Marinette (who's at least small-time) and those four were complete jerks unlike her, but it was only because of a tragic past they've experienced just like Marinette, albeit way more tragic including that last one Rinne who like Marinette was also bullied, but by 3 girls who were probably worse then Chloe. But fortunately, they've learned the error of their ways, got better after that, and made peace with their past. If they can do that then it's obvious that Marinette can as well. And just to be clear I checked Miraculous ladybug Wiki and it said that even though Marinette was first seen at the pool before in "Mr. Pigeon 72", back then, she showed no signs of trauma, most likely because she was trying to get Adrien and Kagami together and her feelings for him weren't on the same level. Also, I think it's safe to say that Chloe Bourgeois is a lost cause and that she'll never change from bad to good? Because that's obviously the case especially since she is absolutely nothing like Elisabeth "Sissi" Delmas (Code Lyoko), Cassandra (Sabrina's Secret Life), Miku Izayoi (Date A Live), Bell Renjoji (Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live), Wakana Morizono (Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live), and Lanzhu Zhong (Love Live! Franchise) who were all able to redeem themselves, unlike that insolent brat. Still, it would've been nice if Chloe did officially reform and changed for the better, but the sad truth is some people never change no matter how much you try, and sometimes you only see the good in people because that's what you want. Plus there are other fictional characters who are just as irredeemable as Chloé like Ryōko Mendō (Urusei Yatsura), Princess Morbucks (The Powerpuff Girls), Gemini "Gem" Stone (Sabrina: The Animated Series), Mandy (Totally Spies!), Jack Spicer (Xiaolin Showdown), Charmcaster (Ben 10 series), Sierra McCool (The Replacements), Princess Allie (Pokémon the Series: XY), Ma’alefa’ak/M'comm M'orzz (Young Justice TV Series), Big Jack Horner (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish); etc and most of them are spoiled brat and/or alpha females like Chloe. Plus there were characters who use to think that some of these insolent jerks were good at heart and could change if anyone reached out to them, but realized that they were horribly wrong.
