I'm no longer a full blown libtard, sold the Tesla for a couple reason. This rant goes over the most annoying of them! Let's work together contact@joeknowsbest.com Follow me on IG to see stuff first / joeknows.best
Never really understood why the Porsche guy bought a Tesla. Teslas are cars for people who aren’t car people. Especially when you are used to Porsche quality.
If someone buys a Tesla as a "Luxury Car", they failed to do their research prior. I bought my MX Plaid for the performance! I had a Model Y and it was awesome but I wanted a daily driver that does 9 seconds in the 1/4 mile and beats anything on the street down in Mexico.
Something else I didn’t mention in the video, the customer support was an absolute joke. Getting the car into service was a nightmare on an app that wouldn’t let me submit all the issues. Followed by an hour wait to drop off the car since there’s only 1 human at the service center. Also no loaners, a $50/day Uber credit is all that’s offered while the car is there for issues from the factory. You spend $150,000 for a car and get worse customer service than a $25k Toyota. Again I think Tesla is a great company and the cars are pretty clever. But they’re not ready for the $100k+ market in my opinion 🙃
Just spent 10 days with a 2023 Model S on a 14 hour road trip. This was my first longer experience with a Tesla other than test drives. I’ve driven all kinds of cars from normal cars to McLaren’s and Lamborghini’s…and I was not sure what to expect road tripping in an EV. Range anxiety went away pretty quickly and stopping for 15 or 20 min a few times along the way was not a big deal, and actually enjoyable. The autopilot was phenomenal. The only gripe was that once I got to the destination the closest supercharger was 30 min away. If I was able to charge at the place I was staying that would have been much easier. All that said, I took this road trip to help me decide whether to buy my own, and I will 100% be buying my own plaid in the near future. I think the value you get for a 90k plaid is unmatched. Wickedly fast. Amazing tech, and just a lot of fun.
It was insane! Less road noise in the Raptor on 37”s than the Tesla. I’m sure it’s mostly since there isn’t any engine noise to mask it, but it was 100% as bad as it sounds on video. Holding a conversation on the phone on the Highway was a challenge 😅
Great vid. Some things I want to correct. All Teslas come with autopilot for free, which is adaptive cruise control. Full self driving is the $12,000 software. The safety score can’t kick you out of the beta it can only accept you in, the requirement is 90. Only way for you to get kicked out is for you to be on your phone or not touch the wheel for 30secs-1min on 6 different occasions.
$15k now for FSD, but I do have to say if this guy didn’t know these basic info, it may explain why he traded in the Tesla so quickly. Plain ignorance.
@@IRLSuperb or he could get FSD for $200 a month. If he gets the Taycan he is an idiot. Pay $180k for 250 miles or range with a terrible charging infrastructure. The Plaid actually stops quicker than the Taycan from 70mph by 5ft. The Taycan might feel like it is stopping better because it is slow as hell.
@@origaminefretami3480 haha says you. Tesla is the best seller in many countries because people are embarrassed to be seen in one lol. Great logic troll.
@@juanmedinar20 Yeah, we live in a time where people drive around in cars with masks. Alone. And Nicki Minaj is highly successful. See? In a world full of NPCs, popularity doesn't mean shit. Just check the comments, lots of fatherless Musketeers here.
Its so strange how much people care what car people drive, what phone or what OS people use. Can't belive people using this or that care is affecting someone else's life that much.
I'd love to see you buy a project vehicle and post progress videos. A 6.0 Powerstroke (if you're a glutton for punishment lol), an old hot rod to restore, maybe even a classic import. Been a long time viewer and love the content, but just mentioning that it would be cool to see sometime in the future. Great work as always 🤘
Thank you. I had a model S in 2016 for 4 months and when I traded it for a Audi s7 I felt a like a massive anxiety was lifted of my shoulders. I was back in a normal car. I have a coworker who had to do a 600 mile trip with his daughter in a model 3 and now he’s regretting his purchase.
I agreed with you 💯. I took delivery of LR MS last month with white interior for 98k ( current price 108k) I mostly hate the yolk & horn. lots of rattles including swivel center screen..all now fixed. 70k is ideal price for LR MS imo. I'm contemplating selling too at 2500 miles
That would be the same Audi company responsible for sudden acceleration and causing deaths and injuries and whom never took responsibility for their faulty idle control unit. Fun fact. I had the Audi 5 cylinder 2.2 liter engine in my VW Quantum. I experienced sudden acceleration in which the car tried to force me into a brick wall, and then tried to drive me through an intersection. In both cases I quickly moved the gear into neutral and then shut down the car. The mechanic at VW acknowledged it as a recall on the idle control unit. But the company never accepted blame. Ergo it’s tough for some of us to wish to patronize Audi.
@@hasangenc2922 invented by Audi based on a faulty idle control unit. Get your facts straight. No sudden or unintended acceleration on a Tesla nor most any car.
I own 2 plaids and I agree with this video. Quality isn’t there at all. The speed is. But there is more to a $150k car than a speed. Although the handling I’m confused about as it beat the bmw m5 cs and Cadillac. 😅 making it one of the fastest in the bends.
It really depends on the track. The Model S always had terrible handling but the Plaid is now so overpowered it can save time out of corners and straights.
With rampant car thefts that are getting more violent, the best thing about the Plaid S is that it won’t get targeted for theft because the places they ship stolen cars do not have the infrastructure to use them (not to mention even if they did, you could kill switch your Tesla). That peace of mind is absolutely a huge advantage over every other $100k plus car.
I just did a long trip from Ohio to Hilton Head and had ZERO issues. I love my Model S. It’s not perfect and many of the issues you mention are accurate. But it’s still a wonderful & fun car
Great video bro. I'd never get a plaid just because of the yoke and price tag and don't use it for racing. I picked up a 85 RWD Model S 2014 last year with 54,003 miles for only $27,800 and I love it.
@@AidenRZ777 I love the look of my s compared to the 3. I love having 2 modules instead of just the 1 the 3 has. I love the built into the dash portrait screen instead of the landscape screen that looks like someone bolted an iPad to my dash. I love all the extra cargo space in my s. I love having a hatchback and being 6'7 I love all the extra legroom. Also 3's are a dime a dozen here in Cali and my s stands out way more than the 3 does. There isn't 1 thing I like on the 3 compared to the s.
I used to hate road trips. With my Tesla I almost always drive now. I like stretching while charging and then using autopilot makes it very comfortable for road trips.
Agree with all the build quality stuff but a hard disagree on charging. I live in the east coast and charging is a breeze. You get 300 miles on a charge not the 100 u quoted
Ditto. I road trip from NC to NY every other month. I actually prefer an EV for roadtrip. Comes down to the individual sure but that 9 hour trip only adds an hour and 15 minutes of charging on my route.
It’s okay to NOT like something that others like. Many don’t seem to understand that concept these days. Everybody has different tastes and standards. I’ve driven a Tesla and didn’t like it either. All is well.
The rubber on the door panels of this brand new tesla in a show room look like they where rubbed on the concrete for a good 10 minutes before installed on the car. Looked jagged with all these rubber flakes worst build quality I've ever seen.
I agree with you 110%!! I currently own a new model S 2022 picked up in January 2022. I have a laundry list of service requests completed. Please read this current model s owners. About a month ago I noticed three protruding dents on the drivers side to the left of the roof glass. I received so much run around with service that after three visits the master service tech walked the lot and almost all model s long range and plaids were noticed to have small dents pushing upwards on the roof to the left and right of the roof glass. Mine were sent to dent wizard for removal but others may notice this. Totally manufactures defect.
2:59 Thank you this is exactly why I don't mess with tesla or mophar like for that same money the other Germans and Japanese/Korean cars are way better with tech and luxury
I bought a 2023 Plaid (standard wheel on 19's) with 4k miles for 72k and it serves it's purpose. No build quality issues but the interior leaves a lot to be desired. My 2022 Q50 Redsport blew it away and my Hellcat is more comforable. Both feel more nimble than the Plaid, expecially the brakes. As a daily in the midwest, I'm overall happy with it. Looking at a Model Y Performance for my wife to replace her 2022 QX50. Already seeing the same trade offs.
I have a Model 3 SR and Model Y performance. Agree with everything you said and more. I've always said these are 50k cars at most. As for the acceleration, yup. I show off to friend a few times and never use it again that way. Also, the safety features are total crap. Lane departure is useless. Sounding off when there is no issue and not when I should hear it. Slow speed collision avoidance sucks too. Visual autopilot turns the wipers on during a dry heat wave for no reason. (Yes, my car was clean) . The RANGE is a total joke. Realistically only 2/3 the stated range. There is a reason they bury the trip odometer two menus deep. I have solar and I charge the car at home, so I have zero cost for energy. But as soon as other manufactures get their act together on EVs, I'm done with them.
@@wolfgangbarrio5043 I do like driving it. But it is far from the perfect piece of tech everyone seems to believe. If there are options, I won't get another.
Current price for a model S with round steering wheel in any color is $89,990. The yoke is now an extra cost option. The long range model S is now $74,990. From 70 mph the stopping distance is 150 feet which is better than most luxury cars. The downside is they overheat with multiple stops or stops from very high speeds.
I have a 2010 E60 550i and a 2018 Model X 100D, bought the X cause family was working there at the time. I drive a lot for work, currently 110k miles driven. I can do mileage deprecation, that played a big role in me keeping the car, car also has free supercharging for life. My E60 is much better car, personally the basic things are what disappoint my in the Tesla ex. headlights, switchgear, dimming side view mirrors (this actually pisses me off the most, they are so bad). The suspension and braking is atrocious compared to my E60. IMO the only Tesla model someone should consider is Model Y, all of the engineering effort is being spent on that car and it shows. The single piece castings, make a huge difference in build quality. The pricing is still kinda wack, but it’ll come down fast next year as the Austin factory ramps production and EV tax credit. The flagship EV Sedan is the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, EV SUV is the BMW iX. BMW iX is arguably a better EV than the Taycan, they did an incredible job.
finally a non biased american telling the truth , other thing i have noticed is that people wich buy and like the tesla usually never owned a german luxury sedan like s class or 7 series . i get it its fast but you wont be driving fast all time , actually more than 95% of the time driving it will be in comfort and a normal drive , and during that time you have a boring car with terrible quality build.
Thanks for a dose of reality amidst a sea of Tesla Kool-Aid slurpees. Technology advance aside, the main point is basic things like fit and finish of Teslas are simply unacceptable in cars of Tesla's $65K - $150K price range, period, let alone poor interior materials. Honda would fire the entire manufacturing line if their $25K Civics have these basic rudimentary fit and finish issues. And I see many commenters saying "mine if fine" but they cannot deny the number of "mine is not fine" buyers out there. For the thousands of Nobel and PhD genius Tesla hires, maybe they should hire some good manufacturing people. What other car companies where new customers come to pick up their car have to run their fingers to detect panel gaps?
when it was listed at $119k I was on the fence, since then I went ahead and ordered Rivian R1s. Maybe lower power output at around 900hp tri motor.. basic steering wheel and I think it will be a better deal at about $110k
Even as a big Tesla fan whos owned a 3 and Y for the last 5 years, the S/X series are simply not worth it. I paid $60k for my Y and it has basically every feature of the S Plaid, except is a bit slower. Like a lot of people have said, how often am I really going to use the 0-60 speed that beyond the 4.0sec 0-60 in my Y? The 3/Y are absolutely worth it and will continue buying them as long as the price doesn't keep going up. The S/X aren't on the radar.
I still can’t understand how anyone can spend a ton of money on such a pile of rubbish. An EQS is a million times better. Tesla is just for fanboys that accept every single defect as a virtue.
Yeah, Tesla quality is just shit. I've had mine for a month and between paint bubbles, stains on the white interior, gaps in the moulding, and rust specks captured under the clear coat. If they don't replace the car I'm going to corporate.
As an owner of a Model 3 Performance these are all great critiques. The build quality is fair enough to me got my price, but I fully agree for the price of the S plaid.
I have owned a 2018 model s p100d since new. No rattles at all. No issue charging it - I just like charging it for free which is a little harder. No major issues and have never serviced it… I like the white interior too. Think it looks hot. Own a Porsche 911 and skyline GTR too.
