It's maybe not AS bad as when people think Every Breath You Take is a romantic song (since Fairy Tale of New York is just about how a relationship turns miserable instead of about actively stalking your ex with criminal intent) but it's a pretty clear case of "just throw something generically Christmassy into the soundtrack, no one cares about the lyrics" I think they should've left in the "you're an old slut on junk, lying there almost dead" lines, personally.
