"Sugar, I cant feel you.." This moment hits harder than ANYTHING in any form of media in recent memory. Days later and I'm still emotional over this episode ending.
I've watched at least a dozen reactions to this episode, and literally everytime it ends with the person sitting there speechless, traumatized, and desperately attempting to process what they just witnessed. You were no exception. 11/10 - Possibly the single greatest piece of media I've ever seen.
“Your heart may beat for me, but I can’t feel it. You light up everything you touch but not me” that same night: Rogue sobbing over Remy’s dead body, and him dying not know she chose him 😢😢
yeah, written by a love novelist they talk that way all the time.. even you could've figured out those words in a episode.. it all depends on what type of tone you wanna leave
I've been watching a lot of reaction videos on this episode and everyone is blown away. Seeing Genosha is shocking even for those of us who know the E for Extinction story. This is the most visceral bit of X-media I've ever seen.
Our passion and fandom for the X-Men comes out with good episodes like this. Bravo to the writing team on this one . They got us. They got us real good
This was a great episode. It was a very insane, intense, and dark episode. The writers are killing it with these episodes. It is nice to see Nightcrawler again as well his bond with adoptive sister Rogue and Gambit. Talk about so many emotions. Gambit wants a relationship with Rogue but can't because of Rogue powers to not be able to touch. Cyclops dealing with giving up his son. The media is all in the X-Men business. Jean is not trusting her memories. Because she can't tell if it actually her or Madelyne Pryor. But wow, she actually kissed Wolverine. And man, her being pissed off a Scott for having a psychic connection with Madelyne Pryor. Rogue is caught in a love triangle with Gambit and Magneto. I'm happy that the show gave us a backstory into Rogue pasted relationship with Magneto before joining the X-Men. We get to see Cable as an adult. The Sentinel attacking the mutants of Genosha was insane with so many mutants getting killed. It seems that were the images Madelyne Pryor had seen when she used her powers to get into Henry Gyrich mind for information in episode 1. Man Magneto and Gambit sacrificed themselves to save the mutants as well. When Rogue was holding Gambit and she said sugar... I can't feel you line my thoughts was oh f*ck that line hurts bad. Great job to the voice actress of Rogue Lenore Zann did a fantastic job with that line. This may be the best episode so far. I can't wait for episode 6 next Wednesday. RIP Gambit. He went out like a true hero. I hope the rest of your day is enjoyable Kendra.
2 other interesting facts. 1. The woman who voiced Rogue actually lost a family member 2 weeks before this to cancer so she channeled that into it. 2. The watcher is actually in the sky at I believe the 10 minute mark.
You just got a new subscriber!!! Look if that wasn't a reaaal honest reaction to the show you should be in acting. You are a true fan of Gambit or just a really decent human being, because the tears and emotion you displayed when Remy has his scene. I was truly engaged in your reaction. Excellent video and I'll be checking out your other videos but for this one definite a subscribe and I'll be sharing it to show some love. Peace Love
thank you!! all real. I'm a very empathetic person / viewer and tend to take on the emotions of characters I care about. I may not remember many details around plots or read the comics, but these characters are firmly and permanently rooted in my childhood memories, I had a crush on Gambit when I was a kid, I LOVED his accent and his charm and that he used playing cards to blow stuff up!
About anyone saying it’s “not for kids” , it’s meant to be for everyone & has a relevant message behind it that everyone should recognize. Though, they did definitely tone up the maturity for this revival series, there’s a lot of blood & even some language
At least in the final seconds before her death, Maddie was able to reunite with her baby that she had lost to the future and an incurable virus - and share a brief moment with him.
That part was one of the most beautiful parts of the episode. I really really loved that moment it was like something you see in a big franchise film, it gives me chills.
I'm searching high and low for all x-men 97 content to satisfy me until season 2, and I finally found your channel. I absolutely love your reaction videos. I hate that Gambit trauma got me here, but he was the best he's ever been, so I'm holding on to that. Now, to work through the rest of your videos. ❤
I remember reading this comic arc as a kid and it cut deep. I loved all the mutant-related books. But they killed 16,521,618 mutants in Genosha in the comics. It was wild. A great episode but damn if I did cry at that last line.
Nah this is fine for kids. I'm serious, no joke. I grew up watching these shows, and many of them had more mature episodes like this. it's refreshing to see something like this come back and also not dumb it down or lose it's edge for it's younger audiences.
I can see that. Like I said, it's been a minute for me haha. I just remember I loved Batman, Storm and the X-Men growing up but the details are fuzzy man!
Nothing to talk about. This was the most mind blowing emotional cartoon moment in marvel history. Incredible writing here. Cable and Bishop will travel in time to fix this, but damn. 10+ is a perfect score
Oh Girl! I love your PO because your questions are good but not even close to the mark. You are in for a ride. Its going to get more crazy. If you knew the comics. They just started. Masterpiece of a show! #bringDeMayo back!
Just found your channel and the way you cut the episode and your reaction was 1 of best I’ve seen .And I’ve seen alot of reactors to this episode so keep up the good work. You’re good at this so stick with it and your channel will grow .
They definitely created a truly epic episode and they went out of their way to pull at the heart strings. I'm upset with myself because the first time I watched this I didn't notice the Watcher
@Kendra what no one gets is when Magneto "snaps" the last image is him at one of the German concentration camps in ww2. The German's took the Jews to their deaths in concentration camps by Trains.... Him using the train to attack someone else trying to "purge" what they see as unfit was poetic. He even tells Leech in German "don't be afraid" in German which he learned at the camp. No pretty lady this "is not for kids" such deep writing
I was laughing at your tells for the jeans when in this episode Madelyn is the one with her hair up and then Jean has it down at times haha. Maybe they did that to throw people off. To me it's clear which is which because Jean has a thinner face, probably from malnutrition.
I think there was a debate on whether or not this is a kid's show. In regards to that debate, I would suggest checking out the interview on Beyond the Trailer (here on RU-vid) with the host, Grace Randolph, interviewing the director of this episode, Emi Yonemura. Emi Yonemura points out that the show is rated TV-14. She also gives an example of how mature her God son, age 10 is, and how us kids at age 8, 9, 10, 11 back in the original 90's run enjoyed X-Men that had adult themes. Anyhoo, what a great reaction! It's such an amazing episode!
This show is really a mash-up of a bunch of different comics and series so don't worry about knowing all the back story, but if you're curious, it's mostly taken from the Fall of the Mutants and Inferno storylines and Grant Morrison's more recent 'New X-Men' comics. It's really cool to see how they mix it all together to create something new, I don't even know what's gonna happen next and I read the books!
Danke! And it actually is, haha in my apt. I used to date a sweet German actor and he taught me a few things when I went to visit him in Frankfurt waaay back when. I can still remember some phrases lol
Just in case this helps, the amount of reverb you put on your edits is too much to understand what you're saying. I recommend duplicating the audio, putting reverb on one and having the other one just clean. Then you can blend them together to get the sound you want.
Thanks :) I don't put on reverb. I perhaps have my gain up too high b/c I can't put the mic too close to my face (it'll block the shot). I'm figuring it out -- these last edits I'm working on sound much better finally.
Urr. Jean Grey isn’t the love of his life I don’t think. Wolverines had several relationships with women because of his advanced age. I would say Uriko( probably misspelled that) was his great love.
sex will blind ya that's for sure -- and Remy was right - some things are much deeper than that. She didn't realize until too late, which is par for the course when it comes to matters of the heart unforutnately.
Well you can still sympathize with Rogue a bit, because her powers prevent her from having physical contact with *anybody* period. She can't even hug/hold hands with her friends unless she's wearing gloves and long-sleeved shirts. For her entire life, that fact has frustrated her. So the moment she found out that there's someone who she can touch without hurting them and that after all this time, he was now fighting on her side, of course it's understandable why she'd jump at the opportunity to *feel* again. It's a perfectly human desire to have, we all seek that kind of intimacy or physical affection and in Rogue's case, it's basically something that she can never attain, which makes for such an interesting tragic character. But Gambit, her true love, said it best, "Some things are deeper than skin."
Doubtful. They seem to change and streamline the stories in a way that benefits the show, such as replacing Scott’s psychic affair with Emma to Maddie, having Maddie and the X-Men fully believe she’s initially Jean, and having Maddie have Jean’s duplicated powers instead of her making a contract with demons from Limbo/hell dimension, Abscissa being a computer program rather than an aged version of Jubilee that became a slave for Mojo. They’re already using Cassandra Nova for Deadpool 3. I don’t see them reusing her for a similar story in XM97.
After his "Acts of Vengeance" failed, Loki created the Tri-Sentinel by magically merging three prototype Sentinels built by Shaw Industries to become the cornerstone for Project Nimrod, a secret government plan to destroy mutants. Loki reprogrammed the robot to attack a nuclear power plant nearby in order to kill thousands of people; however, Spider-Man used his newfound powers of Captain Universe to destroy it.
Different model sentinel. That one was smaller and more humanoid. This sentinel was a result of advanced R&D by Bolivar Trask III and was buried until Cassandra found the mastermold and mind controlled Trask to flip the switch and set the attack in motion.
@@arc7375 I'll admit I am not as intimate with his character as I'd like to be, so I can't say if it's a plan of his, you're right. He likely is sincere, esp because Genosha seems a bit sacrosanct to him (and Xavier) so why would he do such a thing? All I know is I can't wait to find out!
@@kendraswatchlist I'm not sure about an inside job because the mutants were stablished so far to be on an unprecedented high with the public in general. seems like a lot of trouble and death for a messy potential benefits. and i'm particularly don't believe magneto would do this. not with his past being a survivor from the holocaust. this seems more like his greatest fear. not to mention he was going to be pratically a king of amutant nation. dont really see a motive for him to do this. I think it's a more interesting story if it wasnt and focus on his response to this. I wont believe he is truly dead until I see a body.
captain spider-man aka cosmic spider-man was needed for this mutant massacre, since he defeated it in "the amazing spider-man 329" in 1990. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mrhS3Id1O3w.html this tri-sentinel, now called "wild sentinel", was enhanced by the inspiration of the final titan, on the 'attack on titan" series finale. also, it was too enhanced for it to be constructed by humans... during this time period. in a.s.m. 329, the alien, loki, who is thor's adopted brother, had created it during the "acts of vengeance" campaign, against spider-man. so for this cartoon, either it was from an alt. future or someone like apocalypse created it, to start a final war btwn mutants & humans. this would explain cable & the watcher's veiled appearance in this episode.
@@VolguusZildrohar correct it is a different model, as explained above. Disney was not going to pay the original designer & writer(s) [Erick Larsen] money for the tri-sentinel, and Disney wanted to "piggy-back" after the popularity of the "a.o.t." final monster, which had an insectoid like structure.
@@VolguusZildrohar it's hard, i know, but try not expect the dynamics of the comics with the cartoon. example: look at the goblyn queen: If you read the 2 summary graphics novels & "x-men: mutant massacre" & "x-men: inferno", you would agree a lot was left out of episode 3. All marvel characters where impacted by the goblyn queen's demonic & none of them could defeat her. goblyn queen had committed suicide to save her baby, not the world, from the devils she released on earth. that didn't happen in this carton.
@@VolguusZildrohar the cosmic spider-man bit was a sarcastic joke, that I know would never happen, but would love to see. still... it would take a cosmic force to defeat the, "wild sentinel", power-for-power. I enjoyed gambit's sacrifice but he should not been able to generate that much kinetic energy to destroy it.
The comment is about all the things Rogue thought she could find in Magneto but realized were not important. Sex and touching are not prerequisites for love either but they matter to her. So yeah. The comment stands as an off the cuff observation.
Yeah, it’s an ET level plot hole. On one level, the writers don’t want to fetishize the collars given how much fan porn is already out there. They may address it by saying the issue is she might lose the powers she gained from Carol Danvers while her main power is blocked, so Beast and/or Forge have figure out how to modify it so she could use it safely.
I showed what I could -- it's hard to navigate fair use and avoid copyright claims. If you'd like to be my editor, I could use the help :) Plus, for ME, the highlight was the emotional stakes and the heavy hit of what happened to him.
@@HopesBoomerangGambit's bravery and awesomeness was definitely a highlight, especially for Gambit fans who haven't seen him be the spotlight in a long time.
@@MarcosSSRN What I have is emotional intelligence. What you apparently lack is reading comprehension. "Taste" is subjective. I said copyright claims and fair use are mostly a crapshoot, so there is no telling what will get my video blocked. I cannot show extended scene for too long and pretty much every person in this comment section is talking about THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT, not the action scenes. My taste is just fine. If you're not into it, there are hundreds of reactors on YT to choose from. You enjoy the rest of your week, hon.
