Back in 2022 I bought the MV Agusta Serie Oro from an MV Agusta dealer down in Miami, Florida. Put first 600 miles on it while in Miami for a week(vacationed their with my wife), then after the servicing(done by the dealer), my wife drove her SUV, while I rode the MV, back up to Virginia(we have 4 or 5 dealers in Virginia that can work on MV Agusta so NO issues with maintenance work). After the long ride back, there were ZERO issues with my lower back or knees probably because the bike has cruise control and gas gauge on it(everything that Ducati should have on their sports bikes)..haha. I'm a little bit over 1" taller than you and the MV Serie Oro didn't cause any physical pains at all and it rode like a dream bike; no vibrations at any RPM's !! Lastly, most people don't know this, but one of the reasons why the bmw s1000rr is a tall bike is because the actual engineers were tall riders themselves !!
I had a 22 s1000rr last year. Rode it for 3 months then sold it. Wasn’t fun at all…felt like I was riding a sewing machine under 10k rpm. Absolute gutless but fast. I’m on a custom R1 now and content for now.
To Johns defense...a literbike IS WAY TOO MUCH for city riding....if you utilize all that power... 😛. Lets be honest, 200hp in a 450lb motorcycle, capable of 10 second quarters and top speeds well over 180 mph...yeah its WAY TOO MUCH for the street.....but they are still the best bikes around for around town riding if you keep your throttle hand in check. THey run perfectly at 60-70 mph, and are usually extremely reliable and have every advanced option known to mankind...all at a price that no American company will remotely touch for the same options and power. Yeah, you could ride the KTM and it would be perfect for around town and would meet ANYONES requirements for simple transportation....however it is NOT going to tickle you in the places that a LOT of guys ride bikes for.....its really that simple.
This video randomly showed up in my suggested videos. Ive had a 2012 S1000rr and now have a 2014 S1000r, 2017 R6 and 2016 R3. I've been wanting to get one of these new S1000rr. and your bike is beautiful. Congrats!
Congratulations on your new s1000rr. I completely agree that this bike is for taller riders. I loved my gsxr 750, but i found the s1000rr, is alot easier on my back and legs, which really helped me be more comfortable cornering as i wasnt as cramped.
Agree with you points on better for a tall rider. I have this bike and I'm about 6'7". With the Wunderlich sport seat (highly recommended) you get about another 1.5 inches of leg room and I can ride it all day. You'll love the bike especially is you get a tune to get rid of the mid range lag for emissions. I got the full akro titanium exhaust and a tune and its the best bike I've ever ridden.
Finally somebody that says s1000r and actually means S1000r and not s1000 (xr) I’ve been looking… BMW has me sold… but I’m also looking towards zx10r Krt… only reason is the 700 mile break in then $700 service…
Could you briefly list your arguments choosing this bike over a V4S beside the costs ? I am also deciding between these two the next few months. Thank you! I followed your channel. Looking forward for more RR content!! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 ✌️
You seem to be a man of close to my particular age. So, please to comment on the comfort. I think I have one last sport bike in me before becoming an official adult. Love to hear you comment on a 2 hour+ ride if you happen to take one
Picked up my 2024 in the exact same spec in April. Put about 1000 miles on it in the first few weeks before it got too hot to ride with full gear. I did get the first service done and honestly very disappointed with the mid range power stock. There is a giant hole in the power curve from about 5-6k rpm up to just below 10k rpms. Its actually embarrassing for BMW to sell it this way. I am going to put a BT Stage 1 flash on it soon and hope that fixes it or its bye bye BMW.
I just booked mine now. Here in vancouver canada. I got the s1000rr dynamic package. We get dunlop tire not sure how they will be. Also I don't know what are the standard wheel package it comes with so I have to check it. Congratulations 🎉
I'm 6'4 and I can fully agree that this bike is made for tall persons! (especially for tall german schnitzels like me xD) I bought a 2024 RR M-Package myself and I can't wait to get it! Very beautiful bike!
The dealer will sell you “ALPHA” frame sliders. They’re really small, but effective. If you tip over on the right side, it could total your bike. I’ve seen it several times. Nice bike, thanks
Don’t know why you need the quad lock. The phone can connect through the interface. My phone just sits in the trunk.. My phone calls, music and navigation is on the screen connected to my helmet.
well that escalated quickly 😂. can’t wait to see the 2025 Panigale 😂. my man! tremendous machine man! the DUKE is a boss and fun for sure ! feel same way about Z900, temporary fun!
Good evening John. I need an honest opinion from someone who made this switch... I'm about to make the same motorcycle transition. My daily driver is a KTM 890, but I'm a big man (1.84cm and 85kg) and the 890 feel small bike for me, so I was thinking about going for the BMW is a unbelievable beauty bike... But my doubt is whether I can do home, work and adventure on the BMW and whether it is comfortable enough to be able to do daily driver on bad roads or may I have to go for the ktm 1390 thanks
DUde...I just got an M1000RR...our bike journey is running hand in hand...considering the Harley side and now sportbike side. I still have a Street Fighter SP as well... :D. Road Glide isnt going anywhere though.. Have fun with that breakin period..UGH!!! My TST Industries gets here tomorrow....but the plate relocation is out of stock...I am going Arrow on mine...and BT Moto for sure...I have swapped out a few blue bolts...you forgot heated grips and cruise control!! 😛
The tune is a must on these bikes, The EPA has made BMW neuter it until 9k rpm. I am close to Greensboro NC my fellow tar heel. I have a 21 Sport Glide also, but it's stock lol. The 24 S1Krr has BT level 2, stacks, full exhaust waiting to go on, and the normal body protection stuff. If you get any codes on it, I still have a few open slots on my hex 911 scanner.
@@jasonisdn SWEET!! I go to the Greensboro BMW/Ducati shop all the time. Hate that Genaro left but its still the best shop in the area. On the tune, they are making it HARD to make that decision with the fact that you see more and more guys complaining about getting denied warranty service, especially when you see motomillion getting denied because of a tune, and an over rev of 250 rpm...when NEITHER had anything to do with his failure that anyone who knows anything about motors can plainly see. THere are others getting denied that we see in BMW forums as well. Personally I am gonna get the nanny tune removed from my M1000RR at 600 miles and then ride it hard for another 400-500 and at that point if its all good, I will do the exhaust and BT Moto tune...but if there is anything even remotely suspect I will be knocking my dealers door down... 😛. Hope to see you man!!
