Loving my v3. Was a little tough to figure out at first, but once dialed in it really is a great racquet.

Hi Ian I just switched my racket Diadem Elevate V3. I choose regular Elevate V3 grip 2. I did some customize like grip 2 to grip 3 Balance move little bit to grip I really enjoy my racket, and enjoying teaching tennis with it.

I couldn't find it on their website but the recommended string tension is 45-55 on the racket, which sorta surprised me. I had them string it at 53 without that info, so we'll see. I usually go on the lower side of recommended tension.

Tensions have dropped a lot over the last 10-15 years or so. Back in college I was hitting with 61lbs and now I'm down at 53lbs. I bet you'll like it.

Awesome. Would love to see you do all their racquets and measure their differences with many more stroke types (serves, volleys, BH and FH slices etc). Make it the premier DIADEM racquet comparison channel! Anyhow, can't say enough about the production and video quality, truly amazing. Cheers! M

In comparison to the V2 305, the V3 305 has the added Kraibon rubber material. This has made the new frame feel softer (I'm currently playing both with the same string and tension). Some could say, more muted... At the same time, it feels far more stable on serve returns and volleys. It's more forgiving on slight forehand misshits and the paint-finish has a different texture (not matte, but something rough and soft...). I'm super happy with the V3 305 so far.

I've been playing the 305 V2 Elevate for just over a year and now these past 2 weeks the V3 305. To the new one they have added the Kraibon rubber material that has made the racket noticably softer overall (some could say more muted). BUT, it is much more stable on serve returns, super stable at the net and less twisty on slight misshits. It's great the V3. Much better than other 16*20 like the Babolat Pure Strike VS, that gave me shoulder soreness every time.

That's super interesting, thanks for the details! Glad you're enjoying it.

@@EssentialTennis the texture on the paint-finish is different, too. It's highly possible I will get a second one a bit later in the Summer to have a pair of them and try different string setups side-to-side. Anyway, it's a racket that deserves a demo at least. I've played with several different rackets these past 3 months. WIth the V3 Elevate I have no arm issues or soreness after playing 2 hours straight.

Ya the V3 paint finish has some more texture to it, it's less glossy. I like it a lot.

Elevate is a solid stick. It really promotes good form and you can hit a heavy ball with proper technique. I’ve used the V2 in regular and tour and V3 in regular. V2 in general is a bit stiffer and easier to generate topspin. V3 is softer and more for flatter hitters (swingweight is a little higher too). Both lines are excellent for players with more traditional strokes.
@EssentialTennis
@EssentialTennis Год назад
Is the "softer" comment based on tests, or just your feel? How can the swing weight be different if the weight and balance are the asme? Cheers
@tenniswithandy
@tenniswithandy Год назад
@@EssentialTennis it is based on a playtest. I have both in my racquet bag. Both the V2 and V3 elevates are nice frames. I haven’t tried the V3 tour yet but I think Ian is going to like based on the softer feel (perhaps the Kraibon material). It might also be better for his shoulder on the one handed backhand.
@tenniswithandy
@tenniswithandy Год назад
@@EssentialTennis swingweight can be a bit different even though weight and balance are the same. It is all about how you distribute the weight. Diadem made the grommets a little heavier (so the racquet is more polarized) and you can keep the same balance by distributing some of the other weight into the base of the handle. I spoke with the racquet MRT at Diadem and Evan Specht also confirmed the difference in swingweight.

Looking good Ian for an old guy(coming from an old guy). I find most important thing is for the racket to promote longevity as well with my arm.

Been using Solstice Power is a hybrid awhile, and now trying full bed as I was breaking strings every 7-10 days. Great string! Comfy, powerful for a poly, & cool color. Worth trying if you like something in the Volkl Cyclone Tour - Vsquare ballpark.

The V3 Elevates are a keynote example of why pedigree matters. Kraibon, while cool, is tough to use the right way in tennis racquets, and IMHO Diadem muted the V3's too much with their implementation of it. They're a young company, though, so they'll live and learn. Interestingly enough, Head already went down the Kraibon road with Graphene Touch in 2018, and since bailed on it, perhaps only randomly due to their marketing department becoming obsessed with the next buzz phrase, but more likely because their engineers realized it made a suspect material (Graphene) feel arguably even worse. Since then, whether by luck or by design, Head has at least partially recovered the feel that they once had before the addition of Graphene. Either way, I applaud these companies for continuing to try new things, whether it be driven by marketing or engineering.
