As a Father who is divorced and has full custody of my kids, I don't think it's appropriate to hide the fact that you have kids. I agree with your perspective. I am blessed to have found someone who accepts me AND my kids, but she knew about my kids well before we had an interest in each other. Great job steering clear and spreading the word! A lot of people on RU-vid should see this, before they find themselves in the same situations.

Kids are a huge impact - financially, what your house looks like, how much free time/available free income you have, if/when & where you go on holiday, what time you get up at the weekend, where you live etc. It is a huge impact. It would have been so much more different if he said he had kids from the beginning. In fact, there's nothing more attractive than a proud father who works hard to take care of his kids. The fact that he didn't put it on his profile is a red flag because he didn't disclose a big part of who he actually is.

I'm a single mother, and I completely agree! It is only respectful to disclose such important information. No single parent should bait somebody or guilt trip them, that's incredibly manipulative. Besides, if a parent is honest, they can weed out the people who wouldn't appreciate their kid and instead find someone who would be willing to cherish them. When you're honest right off the bat, your chances of finding a match are much more effective and real. Edit: also, there are some rude comments saying that "no one wants to date a single parent." Well, you can't speak for everybody, many people are okay with it. Whatever your preference is should be respected, but no need to bring single parents down and write them all off as "undateable." The point is, that single parents need to be open and honest upfront.
