According to Melanie, Alphabet Boy was a boy she used to date in college. He studied music and he used to try and "teach" her how to write songs as if there was a formula or that she wasn't writing songs "correctly." It made her furious and she wanted to elaborate on that. She told VICE that "Alphabet Boy" is her and Cry Baby's break-up song Additional facts: - the hand gestures in first pre-chorus are actually ABC's in sign language - Melanie used alliteration - starting words in the sentence with the same letter (Apples Aren't Always Appropriate Apologies) - the moment when she pulls out a knife is relating to her mother killing her husband and his mistress in "Sippy Cup"

The alliteration in the verses is in alphabetical order. The first line, the words begin with A, the next line they start with B, then C and D.

I recommend listening from Melanie the songs "Tag, you're it" followed by the continuation "Milk and Cookies" (these two songs go together) and "Teddy Bear", all of them talk about serious topics (i wont spoil tho). And just to throw it out there, "Pity Party" is a good song too.

Melanie wears wigs, but her real hair is also half dyed, she uses the wigs so as not to damage her hair so much (since in each video clip it is different to personalize her appearance according to the proposal of the scenes, which It's very noticeable in Mad Hatter). Melanie often wears wigs but I think her pixi cut is her real hair. She was inspired to dye her hair by Cruella de Vil. She also said in an interview, that she likes this kind of hairstyle because she loves the idea of the contrast between light and dark. When she told her mother she was going to dye her hair her mom told her no she wasn’t and so Melanie went and got her hair done. I believe she had it dyed right before her audition for The Voice. I’ve been a fan of hers sense her first audition. Her version of Brittany Spears-Toxic is so good!

I dont think ive seen anyone request rhis, but id love to see you guys check out YUNGBLUD, hes got the same attitude to melanie where he is never afraid to speak what he feels, and he has a mix of both pop and punk and some savage lyrics and videos that i have a feeling you both will love. If you need a starting song, Parents is probably his most famous song, but Mars is also a good one.

this was an amazing video! i adore melanie. do you guys think you'll try to do the k-12 film? i feel like if you guys are liking melanie, going through the film in order would be SO good for lore, as well as content! you could break the film up into parts or something, since it's an hour and a half. you haven't listened to any of the songs on it, i believe, so that's great! i HIGHLY recommend it if you like the wacky yet intense/spooky realism of her lyrics. it's genuinely one of my favorite pieces of media of all time.

So, so far all the songs that you have heard of her have been from her first album crybaby, so if you guys want to see more of how her sound evolves with time here are some recommendations for her other albums: K-12: Show and tell, Strawberry shortcake, orange juice, principle, high school sweethearts. After School (her EP): Numbers, Field trip, test me. Portals: Death, Void, Battle of the Larynx, Evil, Contortionist.

As far as I know about the song, it was supposed to be for Melanie's ex-boyfriend, who kept correcting her and even taking care of the lyrics of her song and telling her what to do to improve, since she "didn't know how to write", so the "you're a terrible poet", because he wrote with the intention of being "the smartest thing to do" and not to rhyme something with the music. (sorry for my English, it's not my first language)

Well since youre not going in order ill tell you somethings, crybaby is an album that incorporates Melanie's actual life along with crybabys life. Some of the songs are Melanie's actual life meanwhile the others are both her life and crybabys, and some just crybaby. The order goes: Crybaby (birth) Dollhouse Sippy cup Carousel Alphabet boy Soap Training wheels Pityparty Tag you're it Milk and cookies Pacify her Mrs potato head Mad hatter (ending of first album and then leads to k-12 Melanie's second album/movie) Her videos won't be so confusing if you go in order after this video. Mad hatter probably didn't make sense since you didn't know the characters being shown. I live for your guy's reactions though ♡! Keep it going, us crybabies/nymphs/earthlings are ready💕
